    I had the same down shift happen,on my 2020 LR as you stated,rolling out of a right hand curve. Thanks J Stewart HSV ALA.

    11 FXDB with a Saddlemen Greg Lutzka seat. Muy bueno it gets more comfy with every ride. About 8k miles on it.

    • @ConnorFXDB
      @ConnorFXDB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Solid! I wish mine was as comfy as my previous dyna LD seat but in all fairness it may truly be attributed to the diamond stitch pattern. I think ima try reupholstering to run similar gripper tuck n roll like my LD before I give the official conclusion of which was better for me

      @@ConnorFXDB Just curious why did you replace the motor mounts on your dyna? Just an upgrade or was there an issue?

  • @fmwaters1
    @fmwaters1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Stock seat, HD Tallboy, HD Badlander and now a Mustang Day Tripper. Trying to break in the Day Tripper and it is a slow go. Still a bit uncomfortable although the rider triangle is perfect. I have looked a Corbin seats and the Saddlemen Profiler. So far the Badlander works the best but it is only for short rides. I used to ride a Dyna FXDC and it was perfect with the stock seat. Still trying to find the right one for the FXLR.. Height is 5' 11" with a 34" inseam. At this point no Harley fits me. FXLR also now has forward controls. After sitting on all the new HD motorcycles it seems that nothing fits. I really miss the 2011 Dyna. In 2014 HD changed the rider triangle on the Dyna. I still look for a pre 2014 Dyna with low miles. thanks for the great videos.

      I didn’t know that! That’s awesome thank you for the comment, Hank! Most definitely! I’m similar with wishing they kept the kids and not the forward mids they’ve replaced the foot controls with from dyna to the Softail.
      I had a mustang seat for my dyna and it was enjoyable! How’re you enjoying your lowrider? Aside from the seat/foot issues - are you enjoying the monoshock?

    • @fmwaters1
      @fmwaters1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ConnorFXDB Yes the mono shock is great. It now handles like a BMW R1150.

    Any update on the downshifting problem? That mysterious issue is almost a deal breaker for me

    • @ConnorFXDB
      @ConnorFXDB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Harley was unable to recreate it when I took it in, and shortly after it stopped doing it mysteriously. Went for about 3-4500 miles and on an iron butt challenge (1k miles in a day) it occurred twice near the end of the trip.
      I do ride and shift aggressively so perhaps when the bike gets hot (also ride high rpms) it may be causing this issue, but it has not happened frequently as it did since then.
      I wouldn't say its a deal break, esp with OEM Warranty for the first 2 years and then however long your ESP is. I have only heard of this being an issue for a few other riders from forums.
      The bike is a great investment overall. Have truly enjoyed this bike! And on the 1,000 mile ride this last week I had 4 other new M8 softails ride with me with no issues the whole trip
      1 FXLRS, 2 FXBB, and 1 other FXLR
      Cheers and hope that helps!

    Man, I just hit 55k on my '18 FXLR. It has been a fucking RIDE man. I'll be doing a 7k-8k trip from FL to CO and the surrounding states in 2 weeks. Got 3 weeks paid vacation to really enjoy myself. Can't wait, it'll be my first time going out west.
    The biggest problem I had so far was that at 10k miles my clutch cable snapped on me, it was warrantied and the dealer even gave me a rental car to help me out. Other than that, just recently at 52k miles my belt has started to make a howling noise. The dealer said there is nothing they can do, it just eventually happens due to dirt/rain :( I live on a dirt road so that doesn't help either...

    • @ConnorFXDB
      @ConnorFXDB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HOT DANG! hahaha heck ya! Def cruising your FXLR love it! Colorado is so nice! You'll def enjoy it! I plan on going back soon!
      Same! It was my first time going to Colorado on my bike and it was most memorable youll def be having a great time.
      Does the belt show any signs of wear? If it does its probably best to replace it before the big trip as a safety measure. Cheers Victor! I look forward to hearing about your trip and wish you safe travels!
      Many thanks for your comment and thank you for watching!

    So glad you out this up. I have a dyna low rider S but considering adding a soft tail low rider to do serious miles (over a RK / multistrada or something else). Also in DFW area. Thanks again

    • @dpinedoblog
      @dpinedoblog 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a saddle man on my dyna low rider S and I love the look and performance for the type of riding I do on that bike. If I got a M8 low rider for serious comfort, I would go old-man and get the Russel day-long seat.

    • @ConnorFXDB
      @ConnorFXDB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wish I could say that after all these miles it was really broken in but I can’t. Def better than when I first got it but still pretty rough for longer rides. I wanna try another seat to see but also $$$
      For sure! Even with my luggage and packs I was able to ride and throw around the bike with no issues! Cheers Daniel! Thank you for watching!

    Great review. Regarding the issue of the front wheel lifting up and unstablising the bike when it's on the sidestand, and I know you changed out the stock sidestand for a Fatbob stand, I am guessing that it still is nonetheless too short. I have the same issue as you after having extended the rear shock. I have now ordered a Lil Ricky's Kickstand Lift Block which hopefully will rectify the issue.

    I wish I had the time to take rides like that.. Never gotten to do anything remotely cool like that on my FXDLS, only small rides around town and what not. I think the longest ride I've been able to take has been an hour there and an hour back. Ugh
