As someone who has a smaller wrist, I find the 41 (really just 40.5) way easier to wear compared to the ugly boxy maxi case. The bracelet adjustability is also better than on the old 5 digit reference (I always wore my old 16613 on a strap because the clasp was never balanced when I removed all the links I needed)
I was skeptical too about the larger clasp, but once on the wrist I knew why they went with the larger bracelet and clasp. It's all about the balance of the watch and how it feels on the wrist. It's perfect. Rolex most of had many mockups of different configurations with case and bracelet sizes. They landed on this for a reason, Rolex doesn't just put something out with out tons of thought, research and testing.

Just got the 124060 No-date Sub. Absolute perfection! They slimmed the lugs and widened the bracelet by 1mm and now it is much better proportioned and a more graceful transition to the bracelet.

funny how everyone hated the super case on the sub, but isn't that super case still on the gmt II models?
I prefer the new 41.. two reasons, the wider bracelet and the better movement... otherwise the older was fine. I have the 126619LB and it's also got some serious heft.. my 126715CHNR was my heavy weight, but it's since been displaced by this beast.

Interesting topic. I had the 114060, then updated it with the 124060. I have thinner wrists and prefer a loose fit. But with the newer wider bracelet it looks weird so I had to wear snug.
The new AR coating it great. But I missed the Maxi dial, especially on the No date the dial gets to naked. So long story short, I sold it and bought back the older one. The 11 gen. is the winner for me.
got the 114060 no date from the AD just a couple weeks before they discontinued the super case models for the new sub. at first i was thinking i got screwed over, but the differences are negligible, very slight.
Rida! Always great to see your posts! You are easily one of the top watch channels in my opinion. I am a fan of the new 41mm watches; better movement, power reserve, antimagnetic properties, just better. The case goes back to the original Rolex DNA vs. the maxi case (not a fan). The watch looks like a Rolex, not Rolex trying to look like the new age, bulky watches. More to it than I have listed but, wanted to give you some more to think about on this iconic time piece. Just picked up the new date sub. It’s beautiful and better than I expected. It’s a keeper fire sure. I did have to wait 1 year for it, but it was totally worth it.
Funny we call the Submariner 'common' and yet it took me 2 years to acquire the 116610LN from my AD with prior purchase history. These are frustratingly difficult to get at retail.
I have both versions, both are beautiful, but if I have to keep one only I will keep the 40 mm. It looks a hair smaller but for me this tiny bit is very important and believe me this 1 mm makes a lot of deal for the watch mad people like me.

Great point Ridah. They are all great watches even though they each have something different about them.. Personally I don’t mind the new clasp because I always felt the super case needed a wider bracelet to balance the bigger lugs

I have the new sub and it fit amazing right out of the box. The AD said, you’ve got that Rolex wrist.” I was skeptical of the wider bracelet and clasp, but in the 3 weeks I’ve had it, it’s the best fitting and feeling sports watch in my collection alongside the 39mm Explorer, a Seamaster 30mc, and Tudor BB GMt. I think the new sub definitely hit the mark on this.
The the previous generation, just before this current version was almost perfect .All Rolex had to do was trim the lugs and the watch would be a master piece . The current 41mm has a slightly wider dial and the wider bracket and chunky clasp makes it not so comfortable . It’s a great watch if you don’t already own a sub but if you do you might want to keep what you got .
Without watching the video i can tell already: Yes it is.The new Sub is simply the best.Especially the bluesy

I had the 126610LN and swapped it out for the Explorer 124270. I already didn’t care much for the heft on my 7” wrist but the longer clasp was a dealbreaker for me. Thanks for the content, great video.

I’m wearing my 124060 right now. I call it the “pancake XL”.
I do the most damage to my watches when I worry about not scratching them. Now I am just like, "don't think about it". Great video. Keep up the good work.

I like the cosmetic refinements of the 126610LN/124060, but went for the 11 largely because of the movement.
I rock the 114060 as my daily. It for sure has some wear and tear, but I love it.
I've had my 126610ln for 2 weeks and I got to say it's the best watch I've ever experienced. That glidelock!
Nice video. Last year my AD offered me this watch, and I jumped on it. Very happy with this buy; the watch feels great on the wrist. You are right, and I can tell the difference between the old one and this. I own a TT bluesy previous generation great duo watch.

I own 126610LN and 116613LN and I adore both gens! To be honest personally I don’t care or listen to “watch purist” get what you like and what looks best to you aesthetically, there is no “right answer” also the two tones if you like gold sell under retail box papers, and the 114060 is pretty much at pre pandemic levels. Love that for most models it’s a BUYERS MARKET Again!

Such an awesome watch. Just feel like you get so much more watch for your money with a Omega makes it hard to want to grab one of these.
Reasonable presentation and explanation, thanks. I personally prefer the new one. I feels maskulin and balanced. Prefer it as well to other Rolexes like the GMT or Sea Dweller. Finally - in exchance to others - I even got an additional one in yellow gold. Don‘t expect a better one to come soon 😉

I have a little smaller wrist so I do see a difference in the 2 sizes. I like the 40 better than the 41. I know there is not much difference but I feel as though the 41 is flatter on my wrist like I smooshed my 40 almost, lol I know silly.
It’s like wearing a pancake on your wrist. I call my 124060 the “Pancake XL”. It’s not catching on.

The New 41mm Submariner is a very robust diver watch and the best thing is it has the 70 hour power reserve .
I have the 40mm and the 41mm and I love them both .
Great review as always. In my view the Submariner and Explorer 1 of 2021 are amazing, especially without a date complication. When I look at them, all I can see is the time and two very important years. The year of 1953 is the birth year of my mom, and the year of 2021 is the birth year of my son. I feel very lucky to have both of this brilliant timepieces in my two watch collection 😊 #LiveInAMoment

Actually - GMT II wears DIFFERENT from a Sub, despite of having same case size of 40mm)) It's more comfortable and slightly smaller on a wrist as it has more straight case back profile where Submariner case back pops out more - may be just a 1 mm, but you definitely feel it (I feel the difference at least). And, indeed, a giant clasp on sub with adjustability that I never use (almost) - is another downside. And on a new Sub 41 it's just become even worse - wider, longer etc.
So for me black GMT would be a best choice, that I actually made 3 years back.

My brother as the 124060 lovely watch im not fan of the claps its to wide compered to 114060, and the new moment in 124060, rotor makes noise as well comperd to the 3130 he's had it back to ad it's just how the new movement is 😂

I prefer the 126610ln over the previous model simply because it does not look as blocky. Both wear the same.

You didn't address the movement which is objectively better on the new model. As for the case and bracelet dimensions, I had them both and thought the difference was noticeable. Personally I prefer the slightly more compact and square look of the older model.

You will not be getting this watch from any AD unless you are already an established client. “You just have to show them you want it?” LOL. Lots of people want this watch. Unfortunately that’s not the way it works.

It's better for "taller/larger" people. Most men in the world are between 5'7"-5'10" and therefore 36-38mm watches look great on them but those of us who are 6'0 and up need 40-44mm options for those same watches to look as good wearing them

This is such a troll video. Nothing you said means anything, the size basically hasn’t changed over all and who doesn’t want 70 hours instead of 40? The bracelet adjustment is phenomenal. As far as a boring watch when you don’t want to think about what to wear, I can’t read the dials of 90% of the watches out there let alone the date. This watch is perfect.
