The thing I like about this live version is that Chris's piano doesn't get drowned out during Johnny's solo like it does on the studio version, and that just adds to the amazing mixture of noise in that section.
A song of protest, a song depicting the inequality in society, a song depicting the injustice and the consequent frustration of the people. A true masterpiece. Thanks Coldplay.
This was their best song in YEARS! I absolutely love the dark vibe this song plus the iconic breakdown near the end as well as the distorted hip hop like bass at the end. Their best song since the viva era.
There’s something so mesmerisingly mystical, about the combination of that bass sound ,of this song , whilst Chris silhouettes in the first light before that emerging sunrise 🌅 A true moment of sublimity, I can imagine it being the nearest one could get to playing to the Gods, as it was as if everything on the planet had stopped and listened for those few moments.. except for the sunrise..:
It doesn't matter how often I hear this, it stops me in my tracks most every time. How in the world can guys be this cool and still rock you like you're at an EDP concert while conveying a very serious message? The children chanting near the end is a magical touch. The production value of this video is unmatched. To see these guys rocking makes me rock with them. Amazing!
There could be an extended version of this song, with this ending, the prolonged instrumental, it would be really cool, you listen and you get a taste for more.
Please Coldplay, start making more music like this again. I’m so in love with your first two and a half albums (and it’s b-sides), I would love to hear so much more of that!

It's because the kind of promotion the album has gotten, and because they don't have a comercial song for the radios or they haven't decided wich one use. It's pretty sad because this album is powerfull.
This version feels more like pure Coldplay. I get why they used the sampled conversation in the studio version but I go to this band for the ambience. Hopefully this will get a regular release in the future
The portion after 2:41, the anger and sheer outpouring of emotions here, reminds me of that portion in '42' where they go all out mental! In a great way. True masterpiece.
I know this is about the Syrian war but as a irish women I can relate to the song as someone who lives thur the troubles of the north of ireland... There is just something about watching them perform i didnt like the song when I heard it but watching them perform it I heard it like really heard it
That bass line is simple but really powerfull. All the song is floating on the bass. That's the proof you can make a excelent song with something simple.
