    I have been using gform elbow pads and Troy Lee designs knee pads for years when riding mountain bikes, it always surprised me that none of the brands moved into making shinpads as their Mtb stuff is just fantastic at protecting your limbs from big impacts, really happy to see gform bringing this out, I definitely will be using them for next season!

    I’ve had the blades for at least 4 years now. I always use a bit of pre-wrap to hold them in place. This way you can wear them as high or low on your shins as you like and they never move. I honestly can’t recall ever getting a bruise through them. They’re an essential piece of football gear for me, and I wouldn’t play a match without them. Fully recommend giving them a try.

    Pro tip: If you don't like wearing socks, use shin pads socks (that you can get with most of shin pads today in stores) it's so much easier and lighter to play in it, and for stability just use some kind of tape Above and below shin pads. Hope that helps someone

      That's nice but some people probably won't be able to use that in an actual club match because they're club makes them wear team socks but I'm probably gonna use that in like a 5 a side match

    I would totally buy this, and I can imagine the foam is really preventing pain. But my fear is that my bone will break of a nasty tackle. And I think stability is more provided with a hard shin pad.

    If you're thinking about buying them read the review below:
    (fun fact - the other guy in the bottle video is Pele)
    Been wearing for the better part of a year now playing 2 matches per week: been hit many times and only once has it left a bruise underneath. Don't be mistaken, it may absorb the impact but you still feel it. Before that I used hard ones from Nike which "saved" me a couple times from really hard tackles but were uncomfortable and after awhile contributed in developing shin splints... That's when I decided to search for an alternative and found G-form. Had it shipped to Portugal when I found it online discounted because I agree with many here: they are too expensive. However, after all this time I think it's worth it just because they're so damn comfortable - you really don't feel them while playing. The only caveat is the compression sock is starting to loosen at the bottom (from passing the feet through) which means they're not as snug as they used to be... the football sock is enough to keep in place for the time being and if need be in the future I think some tape will do the trick.
    I found little information when buying them (except almost exclusively from soccer moms who buy them for their kids) so I wanted to give an honest real world review. Hope it helps!

    I just bought the Vento type of this brand, I found painful by taking a test of using a mini umbrella to hit my foot after wearing it.
    Yet I could not find the pain by same force degree hit to my foot when wearing a traditional cheap hard pad.
    I fully don't think this stuff can really function the safety when playing an intersity soccer.

    Can you wear them along with the ankle support ones? Those on there own offer no ankle protection. My Son wears shin pads that are all in one as in they have a strap under the foot, ankle support with a disc in to protect the ankle bone and help with rolling your ankle. Then obviously the shin pad further up. For football

  • @Matt-nq4du
    @Matt-nq4du 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Don’t get the value for money aspect. They are crazy expensive and most of the models have an integrated sock part that is going to wear out. Where as my $30 Vapor shin guards from 10 years ago are still in one piece and working fine to this day after taking many hits.

    • @unisport
      @unisport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hear what you’re saying - I’ve been using my original pair of G-Form shin pads three times a week for seven years and the only visible sign of wear is that the left/right print on the sleeve has worn off after all the washes. That’s it. The value is real (for me at least) - especially considering the comfort and protection aspects.

    I love that you are trying to explain physics :D Every action has an opposite and equal reaction. Theres not really any way around that, as you imply. Though it is very significant in terms of how the hit "feels" how the force is distributed over time. With a hard shinpad you get ZERO distribution over time. And as you explain correctly the peak impact force is distributed over an area, but the total force is the same. Exactly the same as with a soft shinpad. You get less distribution over area, but more distribution over time.
    Anyways you guys probably dont care :D but I'm a physics nerd and I do hehehehehehe :D
