    I like your practical, down-to-earth style sprinkled with witty bits of wisdom (eg. "if a degree is the only engine on your plane, it better be from a top-top school"😁). Congratulations on your PhD. Keep up the great work.

    This video was extremely helpful! I've just been accepted to Nova and start in January of 2021. Artificial Intelligence will be one of the course so I'm going to spend the next few months ramping up on the subject. I'm sure I will be frequenting your TH-cam channel.

    Please let me know how many hours a week you dedicated towards the study for your PHD and how long it took to complete the PHD.

      Hours per week during courses was 10-20, depending on how well I knew the particular courses I was taking. Dissertation took much longer, there was overlap with my job, so that helped too.

    I took my PhD from 2018-2021. I am currently 30 and managed to attain an H-Index of 8.

    How long did it take to finish the whole program? Since you enter into the program with a masters degree, is the time to complete the degree shorter? In other PhD programs I found, they have 20 courses while they only have 8 in this program.

      For me it was 4 years, though some of my masters degree counted. The NOVA program has courses, research credits, and finally dissertation credits. The minimum number of credit hours to complete it is 64.

    I think the research advisor is more important if the school is not a top-top school.

    How much technical are the core classes?

    • @HeatonResearch
      @HeatonResearch  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The core computer science classes are fairly technical, they require coding, and that was a stumbling block for some people who had not coded in a long time (and were perhaps never that strong at it).
