    Ett av mina stora ögonblick i livet var i Mariehamn 1987, när jag som 19-åring öppnade en läsk åt Janne Schaffer, det kan man leva på ännu.

    I heard the first Jan Schaffer album probably in 1975 in the small little southern Illinois town of Carbondale. Played it for all my guitar buddies. We were listening to Beck, Clapton, Page, John McGlaughlin, Tommy Bolin, the Allman Brothers, but Jan really stuck out. Love this stuff.

    So great to see Janne Schaffer from this period. I've been a fan of his Katharsis album since the late 70s and think he is still the best guitrist out there - this video just proves it all the more.

    Hello Jan! Good Stuff! There's more dirt and more rock'n roll in your style than all the other fusion players of the seventies. I like it!

    Fantastiskt, grymt band och stor influens, jag fattar nu var mitt totala fria tonspråk som varken jazz eller pop/rock inriktingarna gillar 😂 Jag har blivit kallad lurendrejare och musikalisk vilde 😂 Och jag är rätt säker på att det kommer härifrån, tusen tack för det ❤❤❤ jag är sååå tacksam 🙏🙏🙏

    This has all the great things I love on his solo debut album, Katharsis. One of my favorite guitar players. Katharsis is still one of my top ten all time favorite albums.

      @danielolson5378 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To be a little picky here Katharsis wasn't his first album as a solo artist. On the other hand it was his first album on the CBS label. The CEO of CBS Denmark heard Katharsis and loved it. He passed it on to the CEO of CBS UK whom also loved it! Then he passed it on to the CEO of CBS America. That led to Janne got to play at the Montreaux Jazz Festival along with some of finest jazz/fusion cats from America. Due to the Katharsis album he got to record in Hollywood with the Porcaro family of Toto!

    Katharsis was my first, but "Andra LP" is my all-time favourite!! Very nordic-sounding. Is there any video of Dr. Abraham or Underhuggaren?

    GREAT! What a "lost gem" this is! Wonder how they decidet to play in ABBA after all this? Perhaps because of "kronor" ;-)

      The fact is that population wise, Sweden is rather a small country and even smaller in those days. Abba could afford any guitar player they wanted and they wanted the best. Janne was one of very few Swedish top-players in those days and was already a seasoned session guitarist at the time Abba called for him. I would guess he was happy with the wages too but who can blame him..

    @ValentinMuzikov Well that might have been it, but why Janne always have left me with both awe and hope in my eyes is because of the many things he does. He has been composing and playing all sorts of music. Electric Banana Band, Abba, Björn J:son Lind, and this. Check out all the different projects he has been on, I am sure he did it because of one thing: For the joy of creating, because this guy is not a guitarist: He is a musician!
