I am happy it makes you feel that way, and it is good to know it's appreciated. Rod puts a lot of time into editing, and I try my best to capture what I can while I'm out. TH-cam isn't easy.
Hey no problem!! Yes so dry this year not many mushrooms out only got one really nice chicken of the woods as of lately!! im Going after some king salmon soon 🐟🐟
I stop at the base of that peak every time I go up to Kamloops and Merritt to fish. It is pretty much mid-way and a great place to stop for coffee or a cold drink. I have hundreds of pics of it. I have often wondered if anybody had hiked it to the top. Looks very formidable for this 60 plus guy. But I would certainly try! Now that you have shown me the way, Kitty, I think I will. I have done Cheam, so why not "yak" it up, so to speak! Kitty, you are one "cool" human being! Keep living the hight life and send us a fishing vid soon!
Hey Fishin Magician!! I think you should try it! Take your time, bring lots of snacks, water, and your best hiking buddy. Anything is possible, even I need a push to get my ass off the couch lol. Once I'm there though, the hiker high hits hard. I'm here, virtually cheering you on.
Awesome vid Kitty ! Wish I had the knees to be able to do that kind of hike . At least there are kind people such as yourselves that post these hikes, so that those who can't, still get to enjoy the views. So thank-you for sharing much appreciated . 😊🧗♀️🧗♂️🤘
Minko, Minko, Minko! You should check out Panorama Ridge. It is a 30+ km hike, but for the most part it is a gentle incline. You could totally turn it into a camping trip, and take a couple days to do it. I highly recommend it. www.vancouvertrails.com/trails/panorama-ridge/
We were planning to hike Yak Peak last Monday June 28, 2021 but due to the extreme heat forecast esp in Coquihala area, we decided to change our plan and hiked Tunnel Bluffs near Lions Bay instead. That was not a bad decision too as Tunnel Bluffs is equally beautiful. It was 29 deg when we started the hike to Tunnel bluffs then went up to 34 deg at the lookout. We will definitely hike Yak peak soon when the weather will be favourable.
Unfortunately, this summer weather hasn't panned out for us. I was hoping to accomplish another 10 peaks (5 being new), but at this point we are only at 3 so far (2 new) in Whistler. Let me know when you do Yak!
Would there be time to do yak and catch the late ferry to the island? I've got a few bucket lister hikes on the way. And...just added another one! Thanks! What a view!!❤️
I would say so. We purposely do this hike after work (as a sunset hike), I think it took us less than 3 hours rt. The Coq, however, is in rough condition due to all the wild fires.
She was filming with my GoPro Hero 5 in this video. There was very little or no stabilization done to the footage in post production, only a few clips which were too shaky. Overall she's got very steady hands!
Sitting here on my porch in the record setting 42° heat, and those views quite literally sent a chill down my spine! Amazing video as usual, I am absolutely loving this hiking series, even if the places you go give me vertigo sometimes! 👍🏻😎 And all perfectly timed as I am getting back out there a lot more myself nowadays - you are definitely giving me some inspiration and ideas on cool places to go. Still haven't gotten my revenge on Cheam yet tho...
Hey WestcoastWheelman your comment is very encouraging! I was hoping that others would catch the hiking bug. Mountains are amazing places in BC, I want more to recognize that. This summer I haven't been to the top of many peaks, the valley has been pretty smoked out.
My fitness level is slightly higher than Kitty's/ my brother/our friends. To offset that, I prefer to carry a ~45 pound pack to slow me down, while still giving me a decent workout at their pace. Water creates a lot of weight, so I take everyone's water, extra layers and camera gear. She definitely carries her own stuff on the days I can't go (lady peak video). Most of the hikes though, Kitty and our friends are lucky that I like to carry the extra weight!
Kitty, your channel makes me dream about all the good things out there waiting for us to enjoy! Thank you

Such a great personality! Love your appreciation for nature. It’s palpable. Really enjoy the channel. Thanks
Hey Chris, thank you for taking the time to share these kind words with me. They mean more than you know. ❤
Sometimes going down is harder than going up. Your toes want to bust through shoes. Loved it. Miss being in the mountains.
Have you see the video where I climb Porcupine Peak? My shoes completely give up at the end. 🤪
Seriously looks like fun
Very nice !!!

Great video Kitty! That view looks spectacular. I laughed when you said the hike has “a lot of suck”.
I have hiked the peak next to it..Zoa...next time....Yak..love the videos...you're awesome!!
Thanks Tom. We have done Zoa, I honestly wasn't too impressed with the views. Yak is a "after work" must in my opinion.
Loved your hike Kiity!!!💛
Thanks Steve!
Awesome! Driven by so many times, I’ve always wanted to hike it. I used to want to skate board down that when I was a kid.
Why do I wonder about skate boarding it every time I drive by? The ride down would be great, but the sudden stop at the end would be a killer!
Ooof! That would be sketchy. 🤪
Lol keep A eye out for kings love your reaction to mushrooms makes me laugh every time ! Keep up the good work 🍄

So pretty, well worth the hike. 😍
Perfect "after work" hike!

Enjoyed that thanks, tell what camera are you recording with and is it stabilished other than in camera?

@@FishingwithRod thanks for the quick reply, very useful to know.
Niiice!!!
Where do you find the trailhead, and approx how long would it take an average person to get up then down?
I am sorry for the late response, life has gotten in the way of YouTubing. www.outdoorvancouver.ca/hiking-yak-peak-near-hope-b-c/

I hope at some point you manage to squeeze in Cheam this summer!
Why am I sitting here in the mountains, in the front seat of my van, watching someone else hike to the peak? Lol!
Because it's going to inspire you to to pick some of your own to conquer!!!
Do you guy carry headlights?
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
why you don't have water? Or why are you not carrying the water?

@@VedderTimes Thank you for the info you slide down the hill they have no water.
did you see a yak?
I was waiting for this comment. 😜

Hey EJ M I am sorry for the late reply. I have only seen one or two kings this whole season up in the mountains, hovering around an elevation 700m.
Hey no problem ! Yes very dry this year not many mushrooms only found one nice chicken of the woods as of lately!! Going after king salmon soon 🐟🐟
