I have the 826. Brilliant speakers, though might sound a bit bright in some cases depending on the mastering of the source. The center imaging is out of this world and the 3D sound stage puts a smile to you face. I believe these 816 do have that same DNA, as the only difference between the 2 models is that there is an extra driver. I am 100% with the analysis that these are good on their own and have satisfactory bass for most use cases; however. as rightly said here, they are not ideal for metal, as rightly said in the video. I am pairing my 826 with an older Klipsch SW-311 sub with the crossover set to below 50Hz on it, and the results are excellent. I bought mine from Pult as well :)
