22:40 'and if something happens to you do not say if only i had done such and such then it wudnt have been this and it wudnt have been that'. so its not permissible for us to regret our sins/evil actions ?? can somebody plz explain coz m trying to understand this bcoz i thought we r supposed to believe we have free will and r accountable for our actions. how can we have free will and being hold accountable for our actions if our sins r predestined to happen ??

It is very important to regret sins and repent from them, but Allah Ta’ala has facilitated the means for us to do evil deeds OR righteous deeds, and our will is subsidiary (secondary) to Allah’s everlasting Will, and we have the will to chose between the two.
Some of the Companions (may Allah Ta’ala be pleased with them all) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): “Shall we leave off action and depend upon the original writing (that which has been written in the Preserved tablet)?”
He (peace be upon him) said: “Do actions. For each person will have facilitated for him that which he has been created for.”
      [Bukhari & Muslim]
Insha Allah this can shed some light on your question. I really recommend this book regarding Divine decree to you, here is the link: dar-us-salam.com/english/aqidah-creed/rb22-divine-decree-and-foreordainment.html?search_query=Divine+decree&results=5
Also keep watching the videos from Abu Muadh and we should watch the video over again if we are in confusion, and in general we should all revise the topic in question in order to get closer to Allah Ta’ala and to gain knowledge
May Allah Ta’ala bless us and make us among those whom He has guided and favored.

We have to show regret to our sins and evil actions. The point you are mentioning is different from committing sins, this point is that we should not say if for example if would not have taken that highway I would not have been I am accident, the accident happening was the will of Allah I could not avoid it.
