If you run a wooden shelf round the room you can have dif stuff for dif effects. Like youv done behind your sheets. means you can move panels and even change to dif absorbers depending on the positon of speakers , desk and listenting position. I dont think I would permanentaly fix the carpet to the back wall. I had a play with making acoustic panels and ended up making double sized panels that went from the floor to ceilling so I could move them and fix them where needed instead of half size fixed. Loads of playing still to come. exciting
