I'd throw in Perseverance with the deluxe model being better question. If I remember correctly, the base version was just standee dinos, but the final game came in the same box regardless if you purchased deluxe or not. Does that make it essential? I don't know, but who doesn't like toy dinos?
I understand your issues with blind bidding. However, Blind bidding works well when you play the same game with the same people many times. Because you learn how people bid and the decisions become much more informed yet still tense. But add just one new player and it all goes out the window. 😀
As for your discussions on modules/expansions I both agree and disagree. Primarily for the same reasons you discussed earlier the issue is that we don't always get to play a game multiple times in a short duration, or with the same people. So getting to the "full game" becomes a problem. I would always prefer to play with all the rules right out of the box. Where I agree, however, is that not everyone is like me. And some people don't own too many games, and perhaps would prefer to ease into it over several plays. So having that option is better than not having that option.
Runemeet was always rather cool. Nice hosts and gaming library, close campsite was very handy too 😅 But in all honesty, ive done UKGE for a good number of years, but afrer visiting UKGE last year, I never wanted to return. Its just too big and I just don't get how people can read / learn and enjoy playing games with all the hustle and bustle of an expo. So it's really just a big shopping trip, where you end up visiting 20 stands to find the best price, when you could have saved the effort and done it online . So in short the smaller meets 😂
I'm not sure I would go to UKGE if it wasn't work / meeting supporters. I don't buy any games, I don't need to see any new stuff, and if I wanted to play games, I coud just invite friends over.
We have people complaining expansions should be part of the core game, sono other people complaining of games with go on crowdfunding with 5 big and small expansions when they would prefer expansions to be released gradually months/years after the core game. I just think it’s impossible to please everyone 🤷♂️
Whoooaaaa!!! Sorry, your answer to the longest you've watched a game you haven't been apart of is wrong. Time Stories. You sat in on at least 3 games that you were not playing in, including one where we let them all die 😂
Thanks for answering my questions Paul. Although I am a bit sad that my expansion question didn't make the guild. Bad Loki xD
Sorry! I’ll get it done tonight
One of the Endless winter modules has northern lights as an art)
Lego Creator, childhood memories, so will never get rid of it 😊 It's below 25k on BGG and with good reason 😂
Thanks for answering my question

Looking forward to the 20 strong play through
Welcome back!
I didn't go anywhere :)

57:00 That entire statement makes so many of us jealous of your access :) (of course you've spent decades earning your access....)
Indeed. Lots are people are just jealous without realising how much has gone into getting where I am now :)
Lancaster has a clever voting system too
