Wish Kubo made some quincies as great as these guys, but sadly most (if not all) of the quincies were just plain overpowered with no story or proper character development. That's what happens when a story is rushed and the author has health problems!!!

Ulquiorra could be considered the contrast of Byakuya: both are stoic and detached individuals who are willing to do what it is necessary with no remorse, but where Byakuya is actually not so stoic and is capable of showing affection, Ulquiorra is stoic to the point of inhumanity, unable to comprehend emotions and things he doesn't see with his eyes.
"Don't say a word. Don't ask questions. You have no rights and no options. We are not negotiating. I'm giving you an order." Only Ulquiorra could say all of this to a woman and be loved for saying it.
I believe Ulquiorra was so loyal to Aizen because he shared the same belief of emotions being a hindrance. However, in the end I think he realized that instead of hindering Ichigo's abilities, emotion was the very source of his power and maybe Aizen was wrong all along. Which ended up being proven when Ichigo defeated Aizen. A hollow's very essence is emotional baggage, that's how they become a hollow. It is the very source of their power which Ulquiorra alone, amongst his fellow Arrancar, had come to realize.
I kept wishing he could become a good guy as I watched the anime. I feel like there was potential. Also I hate how he was overwhelmingly superior to Ichigo during their fight, but plot armor is 100% indestructible. To add to that, I'm pretty sure Ulquiorra was the strongest Espada. I don't get how people argue over who was the strongest.

The reason people are confident that Aizen was well aware of Segunda Etapa is simple. Aizen manipulated the entire history of the Soul Society for well over 100 years. He tricked every member of the Gotei 13 INCLUDING Kisuke Urahara who is stated as the smartest man in all of Soul Society, and managed to orchestrate most of Ichigo's life and significant events, being aware of him before he was even born back when he was experimenting on hollowfying shinigami and in this case also quincies. To suggest that someone with that level of intelligence wasn't aware that one of his subordinates had become exponentially more powerful is ludicrous. He had to subdue the Hollows to gain their support. to dominate them with his pure power otherwise they wouldve turned on him for sure or eachother. A man like that, in that position would have 100% been keeping a close eye on his subordinates abilities in case one was planning a betrayal. Also the espada are ranked on their maximum Reitsu, not their killing capabilities. Harribel is a perfect example of this. She may not of had big AOE explosions and the like, but she had so much Reitsu that she could fight seemingly forever without getting tired or losing strength. Yammy was ranked 0 simply because he had so much raw power it wasn't even funny. I guarantee you the Ulquiorra, Harribel, Barragan and Starrk would have all been able to single handedly kill yammy even in his resurrection, due to their superior combat prowess and killing potential. Yes Aizen is frighteningly genius and master manipulator because of proven feats like all of your given examples: Deceived Central 46 and Soul Society Uruhara included, and the most insane is manipulating Ichigo's progression by setting various battles like a chessboard... BUT I disagree that "Aizen knows all".. Here are my examples: #1. Aizen knows Gin will betray him but doesn't actually bothered because of their power difference until Gin used the secret poison in his blade (bankai: kamishini no yari) nearly killing him but only saved by hogyoku. #2. After Ichigo finished his training in Dangai and arrived to Karakura town, Aizen didn't know the massive increase in Ichigo's spiritual power and stated his wrong theory that Ichigo trade his spiritual power for physical strength, speed, and overall athleticism. #3. Aizen didn't know that Uruhara is capable of implanting special kido to his body without realizing and also admitted that Uruhara is the only shinigami (ex-shinigami) capable of displaying higher IQ than him. So I conclude that Aizen is super genius and one of the greatest (if not the greatest) manipulator in the bleach series but at the end of the day still doesn't know everything. And in my opinion ofcourse ..I think Aizen didn't really know Ulquiorra's full potential and second release and it's dense reiatsu.

Once he reached that point there is a visible change in his attitude. He goes from confident and cautious to just bloated arrogance. While there is merit to what you say it could also be argued that the reason he wasn't aware of these things or didn't account for them, was simply because he didn't believe it mattered due to his ego and immortality and ability to endlessly evolve. Where as during the Arrancar arc he was still very much mortal and killable, and since he had not yet fused with the Hogyoku he likely would've been much more cautious and on guard. I think that he was well aware of everything and slipped up in the end cos he got cocky. But as I said it's all just head canon until stated otherwise haha so I'd say we both have equal chance at being correct.

@nguyenhau102 I read the first half of this and stopped due to cap overload. Äs Nödt is one of the top sternritters outside of the schutzstaffel. Even schrift aside, his quincy basic vollständig ability puts him above any Espada besides perhaps Barragan. I agree that vasto lorde hollows are likely stronger than most normal quinckes. However the sternritter are not normal quincies. They are imbued by the power of the new God himself, Yhwach. Aside from vollständig he can use sklaverie to rip reishi from surroundings, include hollows and arrancars. While it may fade form him further, it will not poison him. Mid to upper tier sternritters are too much
If Bleach gets a sequel, I want Ulquiorra to come back and rematch Ichigo cuz he had the weirdest death in Bleach and Kubo might be able to spin his return off that
I think around this time when Ulquirroa came out as a character. I shipped the heck outta him and Orihime. The last words he spoke to her, were what really got me though.... that and it also kinda confirmed my ship a little lol.
That's sweet. I felt Kubo heavily implied something between the two. He spent so much time on it. I shipped them very hard in 2009/11 when I discovered Bleach. Canonically, it's kinda sorta mentally abusive, but I still have a fondness for them and how different the characters are. People made the ship even more developed in fanfiction with AU's. I'm glad someone else feels the same with the pairing.
Ulquiorras spiritual pressure was so high in his second release that anybody that’s not on his level couldn’t evenread it wich means he was the strongest Espada period just like when ichigo got his final getsuga it’s similar. Can somebody explain to me : why is he trying to understand/look for a „heart„ which he never possessed or had any idea about it, since he was born from nothing as a vasto lord ? I understand concept of hollows looking for something they once had but ulquiorra should not be even be able to grasp the idea of a trait which is mostly humanoid. To make things even worse he has no mouth do could bot eat other hollows so how did he become stronger? And he had no SENSES so how did he evolve in that department as well ? Help😅
And yet the biggest question still stays unanswerd. How did he become so strong ? Ulquiorra himself said his strnght is not his battle abilitys. And as seen in the Anime Ulquiorra really did not have any battle capabilitys at all. The whole fight with Ichigo was Ulquiorra dashing right at Ichigo to smash his head into something. His abilitys to wield his lanca del relanpago where also not there. Ulquiorra himself stated he couldnt even control the lanca. So Ulquiorra had NOTHING except his Speed,strenght. He missed battle experience in all categories. So how did he become a Vasto Lord in the first place ? I mean i would go as far and say he never even fought when he still was a Hollow. And you also need to consume other hollow to become a Vasto Lord which means Ulquiorra was born a Vasto Lord. Then there is his Secunda Etapa. All other Arrancar have battle experience and 3 Arrancar have even more raiatsu then him (which is a straight out lie). So how comes that Ulquiorra is the only Espada able to go Segunda ? 3 Espada are said to be stronger and more experienced then him yet he can do it while the others dont. And given the fact that Ulquiorra wasnt a fighter means he never trained. The simple conclusion is that Ulquiorra was the strongest of the Espadas in any possible way (well...if we dont count Barragans cheat ability that is). The only reason why he was "weaker" is the experience. As soon as Ichigo turned Vasto Lord himself the odds turned against Ulquiorra because Ichigos hollow is far more experienced then Ulquiorra. Ichigos hollow has even more experience then Ichigo himself as he proved many times. So i really wanna know how Ulquiorra has become that damn strong. Or tell us who Ulquiorra was before he became a hollow so we can understand why his rebirth as a hollow resuted in a Vasto Lorde. I STILL HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS !!!
the arrancar are never the original hollow just the one with the strongets will, and about been soo strong he is the guy with high explosives, very fast and very strong, he doesnt need fighting capabilities to beat you up until soemone just over powers him in thta sense
Arrancars are not evolved hollows. Arrancars are hollows that removed their masks. In the story of bleach however there was never a single hollow who became a whole Arrancar. Even Barragan still had parts of his mask and he is the oldest hollow alive and for all we know he is also the longest living Vasto lorde. Aizen was the only one able to create full Arrancars with the Hogyoku even tho thei still had parts of their mask those Arrancar had the same amount of power a natural full Arrancar would have. So yes there are hollows that can turn into an Arrancar but we never saw that. Even the ones Aizen created where only as strong as the real deal duo to the infused Shinigami powers.Makes you wonder what a real Arrancar could do.
thing is that wasn't a bush, and those "branches" weren't brittle at all. He was trying to commit suicide by having those crystal needles run through his entire body, just for the sense of relief not existing had to him. It really was a philosophical moment alright.
This is what I love about Bleach. The villains in this story aren't black and white bad guys or misunderstood "heroes." Ulquiorra is not a kind man, but he is not evil either. Grimmjow, Nnoitra, Ulquiorra, Harribel, Starrk, Tōsen, Gin, even Aizen all have different motivations for doing what they have beyond greed or self-righteousness. Although Aizen does fall into the self-righteous category.
It’s weird seeing the anime from the antagonists perspective... I was kinda rooting for him in that fight (knowing damn well he’s supposed to be the “bad guy”)

Ulquiro cared about his fellow arrancars ,he could have killed grimmjow when they fought but he resisted and he was always good to yami, not any other arrancars were like that leaving stark He was always honest with aizen and followed all his orders
Maybe, I always thought it was yammy didn't annoy him and he was indifferent to them. He didn't see a purpose in killing them or protecting them unless aizen ordered it. Which makes sense because he feels nothing for them He says this multiple times about Ichigo too, how he's not worth killing. Because he's nothing. And as ulqouirra realizes Ichigo is a threat that's when he starts to feel something. But yeah, I don't think him and yammy were friends. And I think we would have murdered grimmjow if he wasn't caught off guard by his actions. But I don't think he cares either way.

I agree that vasto lorde hollows are likely stronger than most normal quinckes.
However the sternritter are not normal quincies. They are imbued by the power of the new God himself, Yhwach.
Aside from vollständig he can use sklaverie to rip reishi from surroundings, include hollows and arrancars. While it may fade form him further, it will not poison him. Mid to upper tier sternritters are too much
Ulqiorra is the deepest character I've ever known, one of my favorite fiction ever..

I think around this time when Ulquirroa came out as a character. I shipped the heck outta him and Orihime. The last words he spoke to her, were what really got me though.... that and it also kinda confirmed my ship a little lol.
That's sweet. I felt Kubo heavily implied something between the two. He spent so much time on it. I shipped them very hard in 2009/11 when I discovered Bleach. Canonically, it's kinda sorta mentally abusive, but I still have a fondness for them and how different the characters are. People made the ship even more developed in fanfiction with AU's.
I'm glad someone else feels the same with the pairing.

Ulquiorras spiritual pressure was so high in his second release that anybody that’s not on his level couldn’t evenread it wich means he was the strongest Espada period just like when ichigo got his final getsuga it’s similar. When you reach a certain level of reiatsu it can’t be read anymore the only way someone could know is if they are on the same level so for all of you sayin he wasn’t the strongest espada your just in denial he’s not even my favorite but I have to give it to him no other espada reaches his level or had a second release but him that should tell You enough you guys are just lookin at the ranks but the ranks don’t mean shit. Can somebody explain to me : why is he trying to understand/look for a „heart„ which he never possessed or had any idea about it, since he was born from nothing as a vasto lord ? I understand concept of hollows looking for something they once had but ulquiorra should not be even be able to grasp the idea of a trait which is mostly humanoid. To make things even worse he has no mouth do could bot eat other hollows so how did he become stronger? And he had no SENSES so how did he evolve in that department as well ? Help😅

Ulquiorra himself said his strnght is not his battle abilitys. And as seen in the Anime Ulquiorra really did not have any battle capabilitys at all. The whole fight with Ichigo was Ulquiorra dashing right at Ichigo to smash his head into something. His abilitys to wield his lanca del relanpago where also not there. Ulquiorra himself stated he couldnt even control the lanca.
So Ulquiorra had NOTHING except his Speed,strenght. He missed battle experience in all categories.
So how did he become a Vasto Lord in the first place ? I mean i would go as far and say he never even fought when he still was a Hollow. And you also need to consume other hollow to become a Vasto Lord which means Ulquiorra was born a Vasto Lord.
Then there is his Secunda Etapa.
All other Arrancar have battle experience and 3 Arrancar have even more raiatsu then him (which is a straight out lie). So how comes that Ulquiorra is the only Espada able to go Segunda ? 3 Espada are said to be stronger and more experienced then him yet he can do it while the others dont. And given the fact that Ulquiorra wasnt a fighter means he never trained.
The simple conclusion is that Ulquiorra was the strongest of the Espadas in any possible way (well...if we dont count Barragans cheat ability that is). The only reason why he was "weaker" is the experience. As soon as Ichigo turned Vasto Lord himself the odds turned against Ulquiorra because Ichigos hollow is far more experienced then Ulquiorra. Ichigos hollow has even more experience then Ichigo himself as he proved many times.
So i really wanna know how Ulquiorra has become that damn strong. Or tell us who Ulquiorra was before he became a hollow so we can understand why his rebirth as a hollow resuted in a Vasto Lorde.

the arrancar are never the original hollow just the one with the strongets will, and about been soo strong he is the guy with high explosives, very fast and very strong, he doesnt need fighting capabilities to beat you up until soemone just over powers him in thta sense
Arrancars are hollows who evolves. and i think #0-9 are original hollows (not created/modified) by aizen or some of them

Arrancars are hollows that removed their masks. In the story of bleach however there was never a single hollow who became a whole Arrancar. Even Barragan still had parts of his mask and he is the oldest hollow alive and for all we know he is also the longest living Vasto lorde.
Aizen was the only one able to create full Arrancars with the Hogyoku even tho thei still had parts of their mask those Arrancar had the same amount of power a natural full Arrancar would have.
So yes there are hollows that can turn into an Arrancar but we never saw that. Even the ones Aizen created where only as strong as the real deal duo to the infused Shinigami powers.Makes you wonder what a real Arrancar could do.

This is what I love about Bleach. The villains in this story aren't black and white bad guys or misunderstood "heroes." Ulquiorra is not a kind man, but he is not evil either. Grimmjow, Nnoitra, Ulquiorra, Harribel, Starrk, Tōsen, Gin, even Aizen all have different motivations for doing what they have beyond greed or self-righteousness. Although Aizen does fall into the self-righteous category.

the battle between Ulquiora and Ichigo might be my favorite fight in the series really. It had so much action and emotion in the fight and at the end.
Ulquiro cared about his fellow arrancars ,he could have killed grimmjow when they fought but he resisted and he was always good to yami, not any other arrancars were like that leaving stark
He was always honest with aizen and followed all his orders
Maybe, I always thought it was yammy didn't annoy him and he was indifferent to them. He didn't see a purpose in killing them or protecting them unless aizen ordered it. Which makes sense because he feels nothing for them
He says this multiple times about Ichigo too, how he's not worth killing. Because he's nothing. And as ulqouirra realizes Ichigo is a threat that's when he starts to feel something.
But yeah, I don't think him and yammy were friends. And I think we would have murdered grimmjow if he wasn't caught off guard by his actions. But I don't think he cares either way.
