    At this rate, 80/20 videos are going to be 80% intro and 20% lessons.
    Which is fine because this intro is probably the best you've ever done, Nate. 👍

    I’ve never have the courage to practice chops. But this video motivated me. I’m going to give this a try. And obviously will start working my left hand lol. Thanks!

      it's not a courageous act.. believe me.. just like everything start slow and work up - it's just playing patterns with the FFW button stuck - think of interpolating double the amount of notes you would normally lay down in a particular tempo - try listening to those old Jungle records.. which are essentially 68 bpm grooves in the bass line but with a drum track wedged in there at double that tempo hence fitting perfectly - many of these grooves were lifted from those programmed records.. intentionally? I'm not sure but subconciously for sure.

    “I’m going to show you how to chop…”
    Perfection.
    Not only is your drumming skill more helpful than I have words for, your comedic delivery makes these videos a pleasure to watch.
    And when I’m happy & laughing, I’m learning. Just tell your “legal department” to back off!😂😂

    i used to roll my eyes at my friends that were into "chops", because of that one bar of pedestrian hip hop beat that was used as filler between the 2-4 bars of super colorful chops and how that more or less seemed to place emphasis on their lack of time/groove because time/groove being used as a pedestrian filler beat to set up the chops and made the whole rhythmic statement feel like one gigantic run on sentence and this video made me laugh. ........run on sentence. :P

    Interestingly enough, I’ve been curious why you went with such dry cymbals - albeit, they sound great and you’re happy with them. Now, I understand. Your hats absolutely sang in this video.

    Great video Nate. I have been playing with something wert similar recently. I have been playing with the paradiddle-diddle, double paradiddle and six stroke rolls substituting my K in place of a R or L. Sometimes I substitute a HH foot and have been having fun with it. This shall fit nicely with what I am already working on. Thanks for the content Nate.

      In no way was I bagging on her or her potential skill - it was the vibe of the video it looks like she's been sat down into a drum thrown randomly and was taken for a rhythmic ride by some unseen force - just the expression on her face - but I've seen magicians do that same reaction while showcasing a trick 😎.. peace.

    Do audiences really like “chopping”? Seems like people are grooving and dancing to a cool beat then the drummer throws his kit down a staircase interrupting the flow.

    • @magohipnosis
      @magohipnosis 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is not meant for dance gigs but rather spotlights or original compositions or jazz jams
