    Custer did not underestimate the the Indian force - they had counted over 800 firepits from the previous camp location - Newspapers were quoting Sitting Bull "I have 8000 warriors and if the army comes near me we will fight" this was common knowledge in the day. So every time I hear Custer underestimated I know this person has done zero research and has no glue what he is talking about - Custer had no respect for the American Indians
