In 1994, Bill Clinton signed NAFTA and the China FTA. As demonstrated in this film, American corporations, built by the investment and labor of the American people, later realized that by outsourcing jobs, they would only have to pay the Chinese worker 1 cent instead of $10 to a US worker. And here we are!

That's back when there was a middle-class now that the middle-class is gone there's only the poor and the rich. Anybody miss the old America when there was a middle class?👍😎🇨🇦
Americans got a taste of social democracy with the New Deal, and the workers had the upper hand for a brief period. The business class wasn't going to let that carry on, so after the war redoubled their efforts to get their power back. To think that they thought it necessary to make propaganda like this to convince working people of the benefits of capitalism. The trouble is, they did a great job, and ever since, particularly since the 80s, many working-class Americans believe this rubbish. Only now are young people waking up to the fact that there is a better way, whatever that may be, and that the current system isn't working for the vast majority of people.
I believe this is a reposting. Anyway, the MAGAts and snowflakes can duke it out as much as they want but in '79 I was making $8/hr my rent was $200 per and a Honda Civic cost $4400 out the door. Today, the average rent in my town is right around $1100 and the closest thing to a '79 Civic is a Ford EcoSport at around $23K and the average wage is now around $17/hr. Five times the cost for only twice the pay. So they said the more production the less the cost and there are more than twice as many people today as 1950. What administration over the last 40+ years made that happen and who did nothing about it? The problem lies elsewhere.
Trump gave us a 25% tax break! I got to keep 1/4 more income. The nation could have used him for another 4 years, to keep the economy ontrack. At least he tried!

Yep, but it began in the 70s I think; with Nixon
"socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”
Today the "coolie" has a lot more capital behind him, but earns barely more for assembling I-phones instead of carrying fuel oil.

Is it bad that I make about as much working, as Ido on retirement an and social security?
I have also worked at whatever I could since 12 yrs old?
