I really love by the way when you do propagation, experimenting on substrates propagation style and the UPDATE AFTER INTO ONE SHOW .BRAVO 👏 keep it up .
Thank you for the video. At first when you took only 1 cutting , I was thinking ...hmmm thats not Sean , what happened to the "greedy" part. Then you took your second cutting ...hahaha. Entertaining and informative as usual.
Your videos are so fun to watch! I love your (nerdy) sense of humor! I just got my first Antherium and it’s an Anthurium Vittarifolium. Thank you for your help with it. Love from Long Island, NY!
I absolutely love your videos! So happy you made this on the vittarifolium there's really no information on them. I just bought a seedling 2 months ago and its given me 3 baby leaves! my favorite plant right now! it's lovely! Thank you for such great content!💚
This is awesome. I'm about to do my first division & my pentacles are over a metre long so very nerve racking but this was absolutely what I was needing. Helped so much, thank you.
I just got an anthurium pallidiflorum and I can’t find many videos on it but this one is similar! Thank you for explaining how it grows in such detail even though I don’t have this same plant it was very helpful
I really like your clear explain how to care about plant I'm also rare plant collected and I so much interested your videos . To day I got my first vittarifoilum baby plant 💚💚💚 Very helpful your this video for me Thanks so much 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Hello there! tx for posting this, buddy (= Oh, I still hunting stones everywhere I go - stones are expensive here these days, like everything else on plants markets - to put in my plastic pots, so I don't have to save money for the terracota pots.. heheh.. I never got a Anth. Vitt. before, but I think they're so beautiful..
I repot this plant after almost 2 months in perlite. So fingers crossed hope it's going to thrive and thank you for this video. Helps a lot to increase my understanding on this plant
I just got one of these, definitely going to top dress it with spag moss now. I was going to put it by a South facing window, but maybe less light? 🤔 Can't wait till it grows thus big!
I've been binging your videos. They are so informative and chill- reinforcing plants as a therapeutic hobby of mine. Keep making videos! (at your discretion and availability of course ^_^)
I just bought 2 tiny seedlings for $25 each here in Australia. Have wanted one for a while now. Love the jungle look. A very timely video for me as I coulnt find any info on propagating these. Thanks Sean
i have one tiny leaf growing out below the hanging plastic pot. I had to cut away the pot to release the leaf and see if it is a foreign plant or weed and it turns out it's a baby growing from its root :)
Got a Vittarifolium today by chance from a local collector, I am excited to grow it! ~ Just googled Furadan, it's one of the three most toxic pesticides. Maybe you can find something less scary!
Another interesting video, Sean. Btw do you spell it Sean, Shawn, Shaun...? The best part is the follow ups!! Most youtubers say they will follow up later but you don't release the video until you have the updates. I love it 💚
Bright indirect light, water when the soil is 100% dry but water thoroughly, they dont like the heat so much I think… best kept indoors. Leaves turning yellow could be variety of different reasons… overwatering is one of them. It could also be nutrient deficiency in case you havent fertilized it
Can you help me the leaves of my plant is pale without outside, I already tried less water more light and vitamins but the intense green does not recover
hey Shen, i see you using terracota pots , i don't like the to much , cos of the roots sticking to it and damaging when repoting , thanks for you vidéo dear , Carl ? Belgium
to me spagnum is the best also for poting mix , i ussually put here and there a few hydro terracota how to call , pelets , balls or what ever , i forgeth there name , only a few to ad air spaces between the spagnum moss
Yeahh different people have different preference. I water my plants everyday, so terracotta pots saved a lot of their lives as they dry out almost twice faster than plastic pots ❤️
Hi I have a question, would it survive if propagated with only the stem and roots without a leaf? Same as philodendrons? Because I accidentally cut the lower stem with roots only when I repotted my variegated vittarifolium. I just planted it too hoping foe it to give shoots 🙏 Thank you.
Great video, just subscribed! I have one arriving in 4 days time iv'e bought a plastic orchid pot for it but watching your video I'm not so sure now wether to use that or terracotta? Perhaps I'll melt a few extra holes in it for more airflow...
Hi Sean, love your videos. Wouldn't potting them up straight in your aroid mix help them get established faster than using the moss, considering they (roots) were already growing in soil in the first place...
Yepp theoretically you are right, but many plants (especially anthuriums) propagate much faster in moss. Something about the airiness and humidity of the substrate.
@@onlyplants thanks for that info. Wish I lived in indo still just for being able to grow these plants with no worries!! My mom has hers in her garden in Jakarta and mine is sitting in a cabinet here in Australia 🤣
Bakeri is much more compact, and is known to self pollenate giving bright red fruits. They are also harder to find (here in Indonesia) and costs a lot more than vittarifolium
In my climate anthuriums are very prone to rot, we kinda have to let them dry out between watering. But I have a feeling if we propagate them in pon, their new roots will adapt to the media very well.
It depends on too many variables.. your environment, the potting media, pot type and size, plant age and size… feel the soil and water it deeply after its bone dry.
...i love to have one of this! I saw one online and not so sure if it is really the same coz it seems not. . .it is pricey so afraid to get one. . .it's the one n only shopee shop whoe sells such in my country...
@@onlyplants ...some plants i received from your country like my 5 bonsai has inspection sticker from your agriculture something. . .but most just came with no inspection..hahaaaaa I guess those with suspected soil like th bonsaissss has to be checked but for orchids with just moss or staghorn fern mounted on a slab are not...
@@onlyplants lol I'm going to assume caring for it will be similar. Hopefully, my anthurium pedatoradiatum will put out a new leaf by the time I get the pallidiflorium to boost my confidence in anthuriums🥴
I almost killed my mom's anthurium vittarifolium once, I was home alone for a month and I forgot to water all her plants. Thank God it's sprouting new leaf and root now
Hi Shaun - I have just got hold of what they call here in Australia ‘anthurium super red’ - I’m looking for it’s correct name and wondering if you would know it - it’s origin is not Australia!
sorry.... i dont want to be rude.... but wanted to ask y do you keep propogating your plants when they aren't very big.... does that do something for the plants.......
It will stunt their growth, reverting them to a younger age. But for all my parent plants they grow multiple branches instead of one. Also the propagated plants will be growing in separate pots. I dont mind waiting 2-3 years for them to reach a mature size. The waiting is fun for me, but its not always fun for others 😛
I really love by the way when you do propagation, experimenting on substrates propagation style and the UPDATE AFTER INTO ONE SHOW .BRAVO 👏 keep it up .
Thank youuu. I love this format for all my species care. Hope ya’ll are enjoying success with your propagations too!
I watch your videos for the plants but stay for the commentary captions lol they're the best
Thank youuu
Love this! I hope to see more Anthuriums videos soon 🤩🙌🏼
Its very relaxing to look at all those beautiful plants that GOD made

Love to see updates on propagations. super video again. mine has gone sort of dormant at the moment.
Yikes, such bravery! Thank you for another excellent video.🐸
Love seeing the beautiful new roots. Also that subtle bloom.
Love your presentation. Very informative. Thank you 🙏
For ornamental plant lovers in 2021, love it
I just got an anthurium pallidiflorum and I can’t find many videos on it but this one is similar! Thank you for explaining how it grows in such detail even though I don’t have this same plant it was very helpful
Yeah they are epiphytic anthuriums, the care must be similar
I got one ...small one. Can't wait for it to grow bigger. Yup...very thirsty plant, but so pretty!!!

It is good to watch you perform propagation surgery first before I attempt it! By the way, I thought the Anthurium neckties looked pretty cool!!

Good luck. This is actually a very adaptive plant I found out.
The way you threw those flowers be like, "Get outta my face, hos!" LOL
Or, "Be gone, bitches! " 😂
Loved it Sean

Wow that's a good price . Here in Canada 🇨🇦 aroid so expensive.
I love your setup.
Thank you 🤓
Stunning! Here in Manila, Phils, one leaf costs 300 USD. So expensive!
I have the variegated version. I thought the price was a joke when I was first told about how one costs now.
Where are you checking your plant prices? Too overpriced po source niyo

What's the red plant next to the mother plant? Anthurium Vittarifolium just went to the top of my wish list!
That is a rhipsalis ramusola 😀
In the Singapore climate, where should I place it, the leaves turn yellow wherever I place the plant? 😢seller told me keep the soil dry, no shade. 😅

Terracotta will be great for them. They are epiphytes that love that airiness
Many thanks ill clean up an old one
This is #1 on my wishlist but I can’t seem to find one anywhere. ☹️
Ooo hope people grow and multiply this so everyone can have one

Hai Sean… could you help me explaining the difference between anthurium vittarifolium and anthurium bakeri ?
Thx alot ..👍
Bakeri is much more compact, and is known to self pollenate giving bright red fruits. They are also harder to find (here in Indonesia) and costs a lot more than vittarifolium
more videos on other varieties of anthurium pls....
Coming right up!
Is this the same plant as the pendent?
Im not sure what the pendent refer to 😅. But this is a type of pendular anthurium. There a few types of anthuriums like this 😀
I have two seedlings of this plant that I am trying to grow. I just love it, but it's very expensive to get here.
Have you tried growing them in pon? Given how “thirsty” anthuriums can get, mine is doing well in semi-hydro :)
In my climate anthuriums are very prone to rot, we kinda have to let them dry out between watering. But I have a feeling if we propagate them in pon, their new roots will adapt to the media very well.
Do u plant all ur anthuriums in just spagnum?
Nope sphagnum just for temporary propagations. I grow them in my aroid potting mix
How many times/1 weeks should I water the anthurium vittarifolium plant?
It depends on too many variables.. your environment, the potting media, pot type and size, plant age and size… feel the soil and water it deeply after its bone dry.
@@onlyplants thank you very much
Just ordered one 😍
🙈🙈 they are so fun to multiply. I have a few around my garden now
I wish I could keep them outside all year round !
I wish I could keep them outside all year round !
How long does it take to grow?
Fast actually… the one cutting from this video is now quite large and always flowering… they probably mature up in 1.5 years if cared correctly
i definitely think you need to let your anthurium get naughty with each other!!!
I really want this plant
...i love to have one of this!

i loose more leaves then i get on mine but i think thats due to less humidity and light

I can’t sorry. I don’t have experience with international trade.
