  • While working on Stranger Aeons, some of the elements used escaped from a crack in the Piger Henricus and manifested in an an invisible vapor which wafted across the laboratory and settled into one of my network packet condensers. The following file was the only thing my router could transmit for a few hours until it was cleaned up. I bring you this glimpse into what can only be understood as the Primaterium.

    This one's actually kind of beautiful.
    There's like a deep peace in witnessing this accelerated decomposition of human-like figures within monuments that seem to crumble yet move towards an alternate future as natural growth in the grander scheme. It's like the more heavily imposed the human aspect is, the more likely something resembling a civilized structure may remain, whereas the less human it becomes, the more it decays its surroundings. The ambience and exact speed / motion somehow makes it feel like slow motion, helping the mind state pull back from a narrow focus.
    I enjoyed this one very much.

    "Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity. The boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes"

    • @Wizardhead

      I made this around the same time using similar models. In both cases I used a ton of mushroom timelapse photography for organic flows and turned up the feedback loop for a black-on-white drawing look, but the irony is the input models were all dark color paintings.

      I actually generated this bit before the material for They Move Below and used a lot of the same ingredients for sections of it, because it was endlessly compelling to me and it created this vibrant cosmic horror psychedelic continuum I felt really vibed with the heavy bits of that track.

      In essence it is using "AI" (a misnomer but everyone is misusing that term right now in much the same way as "meme" doesn't mean what we use it as) to map a selection or "prompted" set of features taken from a corpus of 2.3 billion images and apply them to a function that seeks to "map" them onto, by virtue of trying to figure out which features best "solve" for aspects of, input images (frames of video) and then there's some extra steps to smooth the flow from frame to frame which are totally separate from the "AI" that create all sorts of feedback into the algorithm and the result is a just a hot mess.

    • @Wizardhead

      This was Stable Diffusion chewing on mushroom time lapse photography and I manipulated the pipeline to feedback into itself which had a side effect of turning it into an almost line drawing style but created such smoothness it took my breath away when the frames started coming out

    • @iwhiteplant
      @iwhiteplant ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Wizardhead did you use Topaz post-processing (slow-motion mode) in this case?

    • @Wizardhead
      @Wizardhead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@iwhiteplant I probably did use Topaz to upscale it, but I don't think I used the slow-motion mode for it. The smoothness is a result of high flow blend values in the StableWarpFusion script I used and the fact that the input video was a slow motion movement (via a timelapse of mushrooms growing)

    • @Wizardhead
      @Wizardhead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@iwhiteplant the latest version of Topaz Video AI is pretty nice though! It's much more convenient than running RIFE or FILM on a remote GPU server, since I can just run it overnight on my Mac.
