Been there, done that. Another mistake is overpacking our suitcases for airline travel. I learned from hard experience to pack just enough clothing, etc. In smaller carryon bags.
I double check I have everything when I load my camera bag up. Even taking a photo to make sure it's working, then format the memory cards. Also making sure both memory cards are in the camera. I take the bag to the kitchen and check again. I then put the bag in the back of the car and check again before driving off. Making sure I have my sun hat, during the summer.
I guess I'm not a real photographer yet. Pretty sure I've never forgotten a battery or memory card, but I've made my share of mistakes through the years. Not knowing your equipment is a big one. I got really frustrated on one outing and thought that my lens was broken. It was only after I had gotten home and was doing further investigation that I realized that the focus limiter had gotten bumped to a different setting. Needless to say, I'm a lot more aware now.

I’m guilty of this one! It especially became a stressor in Africa where the limitations were pretty severe on smaller planes.
@@alanyoungphoto I also had to learn this the hard way.

Not even once!? Well, as someone that has forgotten his whole camera, I’m very impressed 😂
