Calamity that sticks | Nouman Ali Khan

Calamities are a part of life, and as Muslims, we are taught to respond with patience and faith. Allah (SWT) says in the Qur'an, "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient" (Qur'an 2:155). These trials are a means of purification, strengthening our connection with Allah. When calamity strikes, it is an opportunity to seek Allah’s mercy, reflect on our deeds, and remember that every hardship is followed by ease. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Indeed, with hardship comes ease” (Qur'an 94:6). By maintaining steadfastness in faith, we trust that Allah’s wisdom is greater than our understanding. Patience in the face of adversity is a sign of true iman, and it brings reward both in this life and the hereafter. Let us always turn to Allah, seeking His guidance and finding comfort in His promises.
