Still, I think Cozy Glow is a underrated villain cause, despite of her lack of charism, her intelligence to being close to achieving her plan despite your age really rewards her at the end. 🤔👍🏽
Yeah, I actually really like Cozy Glow, though she admittedly became much more interesting in S9 than she was in S8. I think her dynamic with Tirek and Chrysalis just brought out the best part of her.
Mainly a lack of a backstory and just her general demeanour annoys me. Suppose I don’t like those tease-y characters who has to be the centre of everything. 😂
@RenzoXD2069 Were you trying to type "despite her lack of charm", or "charisma"? I'm guessing you meant charm, because Cozy Glow was so dangerous precisely because she had maxed out her charisma stat. That filly was as clever at manipulating others as a full-grown Starlight Glimmer, which makes it appropriate that Starlight was the one who eventually saw through Cozy's scheme and had to be "dealt with" off screen.
Finally, to sum up, the other remaining seasons (2, 4, 5 and 7) are the ones with the largest number of great episodes in the entire series itself, where many of them we remember until now for various reasons and feelings in various fandom activities that I can't describe more than: "I CAN'T DECIDE, THEY WERE REALLY WORTH IT!!" 🥳👍
5:16 "You *could* say that season 3 was revising itself for a brighter future, and moving on to bigger things. And, at the same time, that's a flaw that leaves the third season feeling rather rusty in comparison to others." The reason season 3 felt so different was probably because when Lauren Faust left the show, so did several of the writing staff and directors. There was a tremendous level of staff turnover at the time.
@@FaolanCortez Actually, the reduced number of episodes had nothing to do with the turnover. That was because Hasbro had originally ordered 65 episodes to be produced, the minimum number of episodes required to resell a program via syndication (5 weekdays x 13 weeks). The company didn't make the decision to order more episodes and extend the series until season 3 was already in production. Basically, they didn't realize it would become this hugely popular thing, and were slow to react.
4:28 (regarding season 3) "Only Sleepless In Ponyville I find myself happily rewatching." What about Magic Duel? I thought that episode had an interesting premise and a clever solution for defeating Trixie.
My favorite season has to be the 4th season because of Twilight's alicorn design and the mane 6 rainbow form and the finale episodes for season 4 but I think you should had made the season 9's place higher because of the last episode that has the best song where the magic of friendship grows.
Season 9 is unfortunately a bit fillery to me even though it’s being the most cinematic to wrap everything up. The last episode is indeed great but cannot define the whole thing. ❤️
@@FaolanCortez hey there. I do have a suggestion for you: whatever you decide to do a Video Ranking Every Episode of Friendship is Magic in the Future, maybe your opinion on Season 9 as a Whole will change when you talk about the Episodes of the Final Season?
Honestly, I'm still hesitant to rate the final season (9) in the end, since, while admittedly it was a forced development, it actually featured mostly enjoyable episodes to close many arcs of various main and secondary characters (in addition to the final special). That would be up to each fan for sure. 🤔
My favorite season is Season 6 because that's where most of my Top 20 favorite episodes come from. However, my favorite episode comes from Season 7: Discordant Harmony
2:05 I bet I wasn't the only fan who saw that coming cause of the many unnecesary moments and setbacks in the development of the main ones in it. Too late for that in my view. 😊😔
@@FaolanCortez Part of the problem was Hasbro insisting on forcing a new school concept and new main characters so late into the show's run, but at the same time they still wanted to have mane six and CMC episodes. It was too much to juggle.
@@JCBro-yg8vd I think it could have worked better if the staff had A) placed some of the episodes featuring the student six closer to the premiere in which we were introduced to them, rather than waiting until many people had forgotten all the new characters' names and voices to feature them again, and B) given mane six episodes to the more experienced writers, who would know how those well established characters should be written.

If I were to define season 6 with a word, I think the word 'Experimental' comes to mind. After all, most of the episodes went in some really off-kilter directions, most notably in 'The Saddle Row Review', 'Dungeons and Discords', 'On Your Marks', and 'P.P.O.V.'
It’s verifiably the most experimental! When Season 5 proved that Change is good, Season 6 went further by doing a lot different and correctly despite a messy storyline. 😂💚
Although I will admit in the specials they actually vary, as I didn't like Twilight's development in season 02 and 07 as it showed how she was lost in herself and couldn't solve direct problems with what she learned in the series. 😞 However, in season 04 and 05, although slowly, it was nice how she progressed both in adapting to a new life and understanding and helping a possible future villain redeem herself. 🙂 👍
I personally believe her being lost helped us understand she isn’t perfect and those disadvantages enhanced her character that everything cannot be explained or helped. It did make for some intriguing episodes like Lesson Zero. ✨
Nice list! I agree that season 1 is very underrated. The first season had such a raw charm about it, and it's rough edges make it feel unique. Also, the season had more of a fantasy adventure feel to it. On top of that, episodes like Dragonshy, Sonic Rainboom, and The Cutie Mark Chronicles still have really stood the test of time. This is why season 1 stands as my second favorite second of MLP, just behind season 2.
My ranking of the seasons: 9. Season 1- I get that it is just starting and it isn't bad but a lot of episodes are just okay 8. Season 2- This season took more risks and while some don't work as well as others I am glad for it 7. Season 3- When accounting for the reduced episodes most are pretty good despite some quality inconsistency 6. Season 9- Wrapping things up means each episode counts for more and while most did good others were like The Last Crusade terrible fanfiction 5. Season 7- There are some really good episodes but some episodes can feel like excuses for lore dumps 4. Season 8- Despite a few duds there are so many good episode, the student six are amazing and Cozy Glow is such a fun villain that makes for the best finale 3. Season 4- In spite of a few hiccups there are so many good episode on the main six and that finale is epic 2. Season 5- With a couple of exceptions most of the episodes are really amazing and very emotional 1. Season 6- This season each episode knows what it wants to be and slams the gas with extremely emotional stories, hilarious stories, and everything in between.

Also, bonus question. Did anyone notice that after season 4, the villain defeats got way less satisfying?
S7 is certainly so overlooked, some of the best episodes of the whole show are in it. Personally S2 would be my no. 1 for the strong premiere and finale episodes, though I don't have any qualm with this tier list, you convinced me. /)
That was a great list and great video as always! As for me, I'd rank them like this: Season 2 Season 1 Season 5 Season 7 Season 9 Season 4 Season 8 Season 6 Season 3 S8, S6 and S3 are the only ones I probably dislike overall. All the other ones just go from "like" to "absolutely love", I suppose. It's kind of surprising that I didn't like S6 since I'm a huge Starlight fan and it's the season where she was the most prominent, but I feel like almost everything in S6 that Starlight didn't appear in was really mediocre. She was the best part of The Crystalling, but even she couldn't prevent me from mostly disliking that two-parter.
Hard to say which season is best or worst. I’m going to have to say currently season 5 is my favorite season. While the dishonor of worst season goes to season 3, but season 2 is very close for making the worst episode of the series.
Others have said it already, but I'm just going to say it for myself. Cozy Glow is my favorite of the G4 villains. *Maybe* not my favorite of the villains overall, but I still hold her in high regard even with her lack of a Freudian excuse. I'd even argue you could get more out of her, if you look at her episodes for more than just he being entertaining. When the show doesn't provide the clearest answers, that's the power of alternate character interpretation.
My Rankings of the G4 seasons: 1. Season 4 2. Season 2 3. Season 5 4. Season 1 5. Season 3 6. Season 7 7. Season 9 8. Season 6 9. Season 8 Those were from favorite to least favorite. The first three are definately interchangeable.
i havent seen fim since my country had them on netflix now they only have 2 seasons i think havent cheked for a while but its funny enough they where my 2 favorite seasons season 1 and 2 and i do like season 3 as well where twilight become a princess
@ I’ve been trying to get started on a little project I have where I go and find the worst received episodes and rewrite them or replace them with a better story idea. Also you’re not the only one who like the Mare Do Well episode, for example JoshSchorcher and me
Season 7 of MLP Friendship is Magic is my favorite season too and I like the Season 1 and Season 2. Sometimes I like some best moments episodes on Season 3-9 but the Season Finales are better. The Season 4 Finale Alicorn Twilight vs Tirek and Season 9 Finale Epic Pony Army one is my favorite both of them 👍👍.
Even then, I still prefer to watch the worst episodes from G5 than watch the worst episodes from G4. For example: Mane Smelody > Non-Complete Clause Ali-Conned > Father Knows Beast The Jinxie Games > Equestria Games Sparky’s Sick > Spike at Your Service Baby Critters Club > Dragon Quest
I think that might also be because there were so many fewer episodes of Make Your Mark, only about as many as there was in season 1 of Friendship is Magic. If MYM had gone on for as long as FiM did, perhaps the worst of them would have ended up lining up more evenly with the worst of g4.
Iirc the reason s9 is so chaotic with introducing characters and such was because hasbro took a huge step back on overseeing production since it was the last season. So the writers knowing this pulled no punches and tried to tie up loose threads, answer fandom questions, and finish off things that were kinda just left there (like Scootaloo's parents). It's not a perfect season, but it's close to the top for me because it really felt like the writers wanted to end the show in a way that left it feeling completed, or as close to as they could.
Weakest FIM Seasons with wasted potential that MLP G5 and Bluey did better: 1) Season 3- I have no idea what is even going on with this season. 2) Season 1- Remind me too much of Powerpuff Girls writing and the moral writing is too ultra awkward. 3) Season 8 & 4) Season 9- Both seasons originally can do better but ruined by the fans for forcing the writers change their writing style. 5) Season 4- Their story writing is better than G5, but there are tons of repetitive writing bad episodes even the great episodes have this type of writing too. 6) Season 5- Most polarizing season of all time. Solid FIM seasons 3) Season 2- Solid moral writing and give Fluttershy proper character growth. 2) Season 6- I know lot of people hate this season for nothing interesting happen, but the least they give guys character proper development for after 5 seasons later. 1) Season 7- The most solid season that don’t have any bad episode in my opinion.
Season 8 was the worst! And Season 4 was very memorable for me because that year in 2014 was when I joined the fandom. So nany memes and pop culture moments. It was also when the Brony fandom was at its absolute PEAK!! 👑🦄❤️🔥
I had a few various thoughts when watching that of course I can't remember. But I remember thinking Season 6 was so bad because a) it was so all over the place with narrative that I actively cannot differentiate it from 7 in my mind, they're just one big blob of continuous development from 5 and b) most of the bad "filler" episodes in 6 I swear were dropped scripts from when Season 3 was supposed to be a full season. A lot of the lessons were stuff the characters went through already by season 4, so I bet when they had 2 major writers drop after Season 5, they brought out some scrapped scripts to ease them in. (I'd call the season the "midlife crisis" in regards to these observations). Also, once I got past 2 seasons, I predicted that you'd say the best seasons would be 2, 5, 7, which are the ones I'd say the best with 4 being the next as well. I wouldn't know how to order them though. There's some higher highs in 2 and 7. But I'd place 5 as my favorite if not for the fact Twilight is the most loss in character then, being a "peachy princess" the most here.
My ranking of the seasons are somewhat similar 1. 2, what got me into mlp 2. 5, introduced my favorite commie 3. 4, liked how well the story expanded 4. 7, Overall high quality episodes, wasn’t super interested in the pillar 6 though 5. 1, Nostalgic, but pretty tame with no real plot 6. 6, forgettable, but not bad 7. 9, fixed a lot of things bad about S8, but felt rushed, and i was not a fan of the plot twist 8. 3, only low cause it’s short 9. 8, came into the season with at least 16 new characters to potentially explore (pillars 6, student 6, tempest, capper, Queen Novo and her daughter). Extreme character bloat and few characters from the movie return or are really even mentioned even though the movies events are fairly important to the story of several characters. Tempest basically isnt relevant until the S10 comic for some reason iirc
Ironic your favourite season is my least favourite one. Season 4 is my favourite because it just feels like an actual conclusion more so than season 9’s finale. At least with season 8 it gave us my favourite character Cozy. Along with Autumn Blaze who should have had more than one episode. They literally had an episode about Celestia being a bad actress switch those two episodes around so Autumn appears before the theatre one and have her return. I also prefer unicorn to alicorn twilight. Just because in earlier seasons she relied on her friends to help save the day yet when she becomes an alicorn she thinks it’s all on her. Like teamwork are friendship lessons she previously learned so why does she think it’s all on her just because she’s a princess now. I seriously wish they kept the letters thing going because those lessons are things we can apply to our daily lives and it also helped the main 6 grow as characters. Cut to later seasons where they need to relearn previous lessons. I started watching Mlp back in 2013 so I guess I just like a lot about how things were before.
8:39 Don't worry, #FaolanCortez, I agree with you regarding the development of the final special and, in general, Starlight's path to redemption during that season because I bet I'm not the only one here who had those moments of anguish and anger for losing something once in a lifetime. Although I admit that seeing her as Twilight's rival sounded interesting in season 5, seeing her as her successful apprentice wasn't bad at the end. 🥲👍
Why doesn't Celestia want any daughters?
She's only good at raising suns.

3. Season 7. 9/10
2. Season 4. 9.5/10 (best finale)
1. Season 2. 10/10 (SO CONSISTENT and best intro)
Overall this show is amazing and mathematically adds up to an 8.5/10, but I’m gonna give it a 9 because I really appreciate the lore and development of the world they live in plus the characters’ growth.
Also, bonus question. Did anyone notice that after season 4, the villain defeats got way less satisfying?
Btw Princess Spike is underrated
11:28 Damn… and to think I lost my shit over that arc. You want my Crown for that one? You can have it!
@@GoldenFoxPictures Yes please! Equestria Games is AWFUL. 😂
S7 is certainly so overlooked, some of the best episodes of the whole show are in it. Personally S2 would be my no. 1 for the strong premiere and finale episodes, though I don't have any qualm with this tier list, you convinced me. /)
That was a great list and great video as always! As for me, I'd rank them like this:
Season 2
Season 1
Season 5
Season 7
Season 9
Season 4
Season 8
Season 6
Season 3
S8, S6 and S3 are the only ones I probably dislike overall.
Equally interesting list yourself! Of course, Season 2 is top of yours. Everyone loves that one. 😂
Nah Season 6 was really good even without Starlight
Hard to say which season is best or worst.
I’m going to have to say currently season 5 is my favorite season. While the dishonor of worst season goes to season 3, but season 2 is very close for making the worst episode of the series.
Season 5 is undoubtedly fantastic! All of those emotionally built episodes made it so worthwhile. 🥰
My Rankings of the G4 seasons:
1. Season 4
2. Season 2
3. Season 5
4. Season 1
5. Season 3
6. Season 7
7. Season 9
8. Season 6
9. Season 8
Those were from favorite to least favorite. The first three are definately interchangeable.
Season 4 and Season 7 will always be my favourites, you can tell I like the overarching narratives
You made my birthday so much better
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🎉🎉🎉
i havent seen fim since my country had them on netflix now they only have 2 seasons i think havent cheked for a while but its funny enough they where my 2 favorite seasons season 1 and 2 and i do like season 3 as well where twilight become a princess
Season 1 and 2 very nostalgic. Couldn’t be anything better. 😂
Finally some love for Season 7. It has no business being so good, considering how bad S6 and S8 were.
I like all seasons equally. They all have good and bad episodes.
Undoubtedly yeah. Good and bad episodes all over. Nothing is perfect afterall, except for me loving Season 7 the most. 😂
My personal ranking:
1. Season 5
2. Season 4
3. Season 2
4. Season 7
5. Season 1
6. Season 6
7. Season 9
8. Season 8
9. Season 3
Love how Season 6 is sixth on yours too. 😂
@@FaolanCortez It was a season that.... existed.
Even then, I still prefer to watch the worst episodes from G5 than watch the worst episodes from G4. For example:
Mane Smelody > Non-Complete Clause
Ali-Conned > Father Knows Beast
The Jinxie Games > Equestria Games
Sparky’s Sick > Spike at Your Service
Baby Critters Club > Dragon Quest
I think that might also be because there were so many fewer episodes of Make Your Mark, only about as many as there was in season 1 of Friendship is Magic.
If MYM had gone on for as long as FiM did, perhaps the worst of them would have ended up lining up more evenly with the worst of g4.
I’d definitely prefer those bad G5 episodes over those atrocious G4 episodes. 😂
I am not at all interested in Mlp but I am ready to watch this with popcorn
Iirc the reason s9 is so chaotic with introducing characters and such was because hasbro took a huge step back on overseeing production since it was the last season. So the writers knowing this pulled no punches and tried to tie up loose threads, answer fandom questions, and finish off things that were kinda just left there (like Scootaloo's parents). It's not a perfect season, but it's close to the top for me because it really felt like the writers wanted to end the show in a way that left it feeling completed, or as close to as they could.
The Grogar twist was super dumb however.
@tylere.8436 Agreed. I still I like that we know what he looks like in g4 though, even if it wasn't actually him (wish it was).
My taste:
1. S5
2. S4
3. S3
4. S9
5. S2
6. S1
7. S7
8. S6
9. S8
Weakest FIM Seasons with wasted potential that MLP G5 and Bluey did better:
1) Season 3- I have no idea what is even going on with this season.
Solid FIM seasons
3) Season 2- Solid moral writing and give Fluttershy proper character growth.
2) Season 6- I know lot of people hate this season for nothing interesting happen, but the least they give guys character proper development for after 5 seasons later.
1) Season 7- The most solid season that don’t have any bad episode in my opinion.
Good rankings here too! I’d say your thoughts are nicely justified as well. 😇

My ranking of the seasons are somewhat similar
1. 2, what got me into mlp
2. 5, introduced my favorite commie
3. 4, liked how well the story expanded
4. 7, Overall high quality episodes, wasn’t super interested in the pillar 6 though
5. 1, Nostalgic, but pretty tame with no real plot
6. 6, forgettable, but not bad
7. 9, fixed a lot of things bad about S8, but felt rushed, and i was not a fan of the plot twist
8. 3, only low cause it’s short
9. 8, came into the season with at least 16 new characters to potentially explore (pillars 6, student 6, tempest, capper, Queen Novo and her daughter). Extreme character bloat and few characters from the movie return or are really even mentioned even though the movies events are fairly important to the story of several characters. Tempest basically isnt relevant until the S10 comic for some reason iirc
7 was the best
You and me both. 🤩
9 season 8
8 season 3
7 season 6
6 season 9
5 season 1
4 season 5
3 season 2
2 season 4
1 season 7
Rate main location in ever season. Like 1. Castle 5 to to 7 some 8. 2. Pony village 1 to 4 little 5. 3. School 8 and 9
Ironic your favourite season is my least favourite one.
Yes I agree
Season 1 to 3 short only girl. Season 4 to 7 boy comes snd long season 8 and 9 and human la e rip off.
