Nice video man I have never skied Bromley either. I am curious about your waist mount? Do you find it holds or does rough terrain require repositioning? I have run the pole out the top of my pack for a 3rd person view but not as good looking as what you have done.
Hey! Thanks. I saw some videos how other people do it. But I didn't really liked their ways... I spent a few days playing around with the stick, trying to mount it in different ways, and use different angles. I am using mostly 3 of them: BIRD EYE VIEW: When you put the stick in the backpack through the zipper, as some suggest it is still unstable, the footage is too shaky and wobbly.... so instead, I stick it directly between the backpack and my jacket, and tighten the straps. It's really snug that way. Not super comfortable, but okay for the few minutes to get the footie. THIRD PERSON (Follow Cam): My backpack has loops on the side for mounting skis in "a-frame". So I put the stick through the loop, starting in the back, and then take the lower end of the stick and run it through/under my front strap (that goes around my belly). It works fine for me. The only trick is to make sure that your lenses point UP and DOWN. If it is tilted it doesnt look too good. FRONT VIEW: you can check the "Whiteface" video, where there are bits of that. It is similar mount to the "follow cam" just the stick is facing forward. It is a bit odd having it in your view as you ski, because it is bouncing in front of you, but the stabilization does great job... Link: th-cam.com/video/pDzfSZFu628/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iVjrFFs_lpO5DGh5&t=192 I tried some other, like "side views", or having it in my hand while skiing... etc... but it usually looked deformed, or weird center of focus, and a bit uncomfortable. These three provide the best results for me. Hope this helps!
Thank you for taking time to answer with great detail I really appreciate it. Hope we bump into each other on a mountain one day it would be fun to do a few laps. Now that the mountains are opening the steeps I am more willing to take the ride to VT and Maine. Cheers man
