Sometimes it makes it easier to talk about difficult things. To deal with them. I watched Pete Davidson do stand up before he was on SNL, and he made jokes about his dad dying in 9/11. Initially I thought it was for shock value, but I looked into it. He uses his comedy as a way to cope. It may seem really messed up, but it’s his way to make that very difficult situation easier to discuss. Everyone may not agree, but I think that comedy should not exclude. There are definitely limitations, and it’s very hard to gauge where those limitations exist from person to person, but if you can joke about it eventually it becomes easier to deal with.
