Grew up near Fort Drum NY in the 70s. We only received 2 television stations. One was Canadian. Christmas cartoon specials were few and far between. I always looked forward to this one. So glad to find it on TH-cam after all this time. Love the message. They don't make them like this anymore.
Born in 1979, I had the record and art book for Cosmic Christmas. I’ve made it a tradition to torture my kids with it at least once a year during the holiday season. They’ll grow to appreciate it. ;)
I think many of us should learning the true value of what Christmas especially life is all about. Thank you for posting this and MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
I saw this when I was a little girl when it was first shown on TV. I haven’t seen it again till now. It has messages that are still relevant today! I wish they would show it on TV today.
OMG I have been looking for this for decades. Thank you for posting it. I Remember the Song! I just sang along with it for the first time in 50 years! It all came back to me when it started to play! omg, amazing.
Haven't seen this since [perhaps] the 1st broadcast of in in the 'States, and was just thinking of one scene from it the other day. Such a treat to watch it now--on the 1st of July--after all these years.☺

There's a very breif shot near the beginning where two people are fighting over a Raggedy Ann dolll and end up ripping into two, much to a young on-looker's chagrin, I'm sure such a thing is fair use, but with how some studios can be, I whole heartedly understand wanting to play it safe, especially when said shot was less than 10 seconds long, still though I wonder, did you guys edit that bit out yourself, or was it already done to the print you had on hand, be it from a DVD or film reel or even just your archives?
Grandma is snowboarding at 17:23. This in 1977 when Snowboarding is called 'snurfing'. A Snurfing board had no bindings with a hand rope attached to the nose. It is into the 80's before snowboarding became widely known. What the heck.
Years ago probably in the 90s my sister and me rented a Christmas vhs 📼 from a video store. We didn’t know it at the time but there were two movies in the VHS. I think the first movie had something to do about a bear, and this Alien Christmas movie was the second. I can say with certainty that me and my sister didn’t go looking for this Alien Christmas movie but it was almost like this movie found us 😀 already when we had the VHS it was very fuzzy and didn’t work very well. We only got to watch it one time. And boy was it a weird time 😂 my kid self was experiencing the five stages of shock 🤣🤣 with this movie 😂🤣lol I couldn’t believe what I was watching as a kid 😀 even my little sister we both thought this film was so weird, yet i didn’t hate it just thought it was weird and funny. Honestly I thought I’d never see this movie again. 🤣 until I found it here on TH-cam. So thank you for letting me relive my childhood 😅
There's this old stop-motion Xmas movie I remember way back where Santa is raised by a god of Earth and his wife who is a Goddess of Forests. I don't remember much else from it, other than the God and his fellow Gods and Goddesses doing battle against the evil rulers with Santa in the middle of it all.
This was a childhood fave! Old school! Awesome!
Love this holiday film! Thanks Retro Rerun!

Saw the premiere of this special!
What a great cartoon first time watching it.
It was a must-see in 1977/78/79 but then it disappeared. I am so happy to see it again after all those years.
I remember watching this on Canadian TV. I thought it was a pretty cool show back then.
The animation now reminds me of the later movie "Heavy Metal".
I love this Christmas tale. It's so meaningful.❤❤❤❤❤

I loved this cartoon. So modern and truly captured the spirit of Christmas.

The credits made me tear of joy the singing made me get about 10 tissue packets back in the day (I think in 1977) still does today hahaha
I remember seeing this as a kid when it first came out.
Only in Canada would the hero have a goose as a pet friend.
I had this record. Love seeing this again.
i had a vhs tape with Rudolph 1960 and it also had this movie with it. 2 of my fave christmas movies growing up!
Grew up watching this❤❤😊😊😊
When my class watched this every year it was going to be a good afternoon.
I remember seeing this in public school.
I watch it every year right around this time.

There's no reason to hate weird things. 🙂
Was the first movie on it The Littlest Angel?
