Tower-rizon has a deep discount on this buggy right now, and I was going to pull the trigger on it until I saw your videos on this car and the Kyosho Inferno Neo 3.0. Even at the discounted price I dont think the Losi even comes close to the Kyosho in terms of out of the box performance and overall value. In my opinion you saved me from making a $300 mistake. Thank you for that, and you've got a new subscriber...
I bought the Kyosho Neo about a year ago, for a good price, like $275 after discount applied. Seen this on a discount and wanted to grab this too but yea this video has me second guessing, lol.
Solid platform, perfect for a new or inexperienced racer, with lots of hop up potential. The servos, though? I get that you want to keep costs down but if you're replacing the servos almost immediately, you're doing a disservice to your customer, basher or racer. Still, I think its a good option for people wanting to get into nitro. Another excellent review 👍
thanks, yeah the servos are their older generation one, the S65x series in the newest Arrmas are quite a bit better IMO, I hope they switch to those at some point.
The kit would just cost more. a lot of people already have a servo and would rather pay less for the kit. Those without a good servo can simply buy one for less than the manufacturer would charge anyway.
@@stuwest3653 The whole purpose of an RTR is to appeal to the beginner or more casual hobbyist so, no, I don't think they would necessarily have an extra servo (but they might). And a manufacturer (especially Losi, who falls under Horizon Hobby umbrella) can purchase electronics for significantly less then what you or I would pay.
@@stuwest3653 🤦🏻♂️ I really don't think you get it?! Losi cuts corners to maximize profit, plain and simple. Not my opinion, basic economics, thats how business works.
I own one of these as well, along with the rtr truggy. Even though its based off an older model, its still ridiculous that they are discontinuing parts for a vehicle they still offer for sale. I was actually surprised that r/c manufacturers can get away with this. I come from the mx world, and if a motorcycle manufacturer discontinued parts for a current model they would be ripped to shreds online for it. Seems to be common practice in the rc world though.
Great review, I'm thinking about getting my first Nitro sometime next year preferably summer i was thinking about this buggy the 8ight nitro buggy rtr or a Nitro Revo 3.3 and eventually go to a 8ight XT or 8ight X buggy nitro powered kit.
Great review as always👍 I was not aware of the receiver and the disco'd parts, wow. I remember always wanting the 2.0 when that came out. I know you remembered it had adjustable links, aluminum bodied shocks , 4mm chassis and starter box. They pretty much threw the kitchen sink at you with the 2.0.
I notice you said run some 30% nitro. why is it recommended to run somany different %? I'm new to nitro what is the better % to run both break in and bashing?
I have the truggy version of this, and over all it’s a amazing rc, for the $$$,, I have 4 gallons through mine and only issues I’ve had are servos, and the receiver failed after about 1 year. but I clean my nitros with the garden hose and compressed air so that probably doesn’t help the electrical, overall would recommend 👍🏻👍🏻
try a spray bottle of water and simple green. spray on, let sit a minute then blow off. I also keep a spray bottle of hot water for any harder mud or dirt
People mix this up its compatible with the 4.0 and some of the 3.0 but mainly 4.0 because the tlr won a special award for something related to the 4.0 don’t know exactly and that’s why they made the rtr version kinda like a tribute to the 4.0 to keep it alive that’s what i was told
Even Kevin Talbot has more views on racing stuff these days. The bashing rtr stuff got kind of boring. Its like who can make the car survive the most ridiculouse crash?...
Rc is NEVER boring. You obviously must not ne in the hobby yet and just watching videos. If you like watching Rc videos then you will LOVE bashing and racing. I highly recommend an Arrma or Traxxas and jump in you'll love it! I recommend tower hobbies or horizon hobby easy pay option so it's not so cosrly up front. Amain for Traxxas. You are gonna be an Rc hobbyist for life.

Me too!
Cool, if you decide to buy the buggy it helps the channel out if you use the link in the Description!

@@jerryvolpini7987 That's your opinion and it is the minority otherwise the practice wouldn't be an industry standard.

thanks for checking out the video, yeah the one that came with the starter, that was ridiculous!
I have the 2.0 I converted it to a late model it does really good
The 8ight 3.0 was a damn good car, still would be very competitive if you could find parts for it.
Hi there was thinking about getting this one I was wondering how fast does it go? Thank you

Is there after market market upgrades and can a bigger motor?
Of the rtr nitro buggies you've tested, what is your favorite?
I'll be making a video on that
@@RazorRC Of course you will, lol. Thanks.
Whens the video coming out I'm itching to buy something lol

Problem with serpent too hard to find replacement parts
I want the serpent
maybe someday
Love mine. Its been through some stuff. And some puddles. That engine will take a lot of abuse!
Very Very nice bud great kit 👌👍
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤AWESOME Charl south Africa REALLY APPRECIATE video this REVIEW

If the diff’s are anything like the rest of my losi’s I’ll stick with serpent or x ray

The body shell color combination looked like wltoys RC car
Oh I want one so bad
it's got some weaknesses, but pretty solid overall
