I'm exactly the same with jars but also everything else you can think of!!! I rarely put anything even in the recycling and its become a huge problem so I'm looking at ways to reduce my problem while hopefully making items to sell on, where I can.

I think you're asking about varnish. When painting jars, I usually apply acrylic paint and varnish on it.

La mayoría usa el fique y las cuerdas para decorar. A mi personalmente no me gusta. Es solo para sitios rústicos y sin elegancia.

Sorry, but a glue gun is not the answer to creating decor, only chinzy items that will fall apart shortly!

I agree . It has replaced the sewing machine for use on fabrics , etc. I guess it goes along with our throwaway culture!

Hot glue can be stable if you don't apply force and try to pull it apart. Of course, it is not suitable for all materials.
