This is Melbourne, where we love all foods from all corners of the world. A cosmopolitan multi cultural city that loves cultures from everywhere. Love the Philippines, love the people, the food and culture. Also love Indonesians (worked there for a year).
That's a lot of food for 2 people... But seriously, I just love the authentic reaction on your faces... I'm a Filipino from NZ, coming to Melbourne soon... Subscribed!
Pinoy in Melbourne here. I didn't know about this place until I saw your video so thanks! Just wanted to say that most Filipino food that don't come in a sauce, we generally dip into something. The beef tapa would be even better dipped in vinegar (spicy if you like). Thanks again for posting! 💕💕
I'm interested in that fried boneless fish and the sizzling pork dish. Werribee is about 1.5 hours by train but its like a mini day trip vacation every time I visit. hehe
It's also quite far away from us, need at least 1 hour drive during peak hours 😅 But it's so worth the travel. The fried boneless fish is so nice! You will love it if you hate bones in fish type of person. Hahaha..
Most non-Filipinos commented that when it comes to pork dishes, Filipinos got it down to the wire. Most of our dishes have an "umami" flavor. Halo-halo (mix) was derived from the Japanese dish Kakigori and similar to Kachang of Singapore and Bing-su of Korea.
We'll travel for good food too. And we would definitely travel for good Filipino food. We need to try more dishes. You guys pick an excellent selection. Ufff, the pork adobo is one of our favorites!!! We still haven't had sisig. Looks so good with that rice.
The silog meals (like tocilog, tapsilog, longsilog, bangsilog) are usually good with a FLAVORED/SPICED VINEGAR accompaniment. So if there's one on the table or condiment stand, go for it. If not a condiment, they would usually be paired with some pickled vegetables like atchara. And most Filipinos would mix the fried egg with the fried garlic rice but it's optional.
I've been wanting to try this place as its near me, however the take away options seemed confusing, like only for large portions to feed a family. I'll have to walk and in and dine. This video certainly clarifies what to try!
I’m very familiar with this food since I’m Filipino. I still have not mastered my garlic fried rice. Adobo and pancit are the 2 intro food for folks who hasn’t had it before. My go to is deep fried Tilapia and garlic fried rice. My wife loves ube flavor ice cream. Leche phlan looks so good. With the hot weather here, we need to some halo halo. You guys did good getting a variety if things.
You must be super familiar with these Filipino food. Your food is so delicious!! We absolutely love Filo food ❤ Hahha garlic fried rice is life! We can eat that everyday with any meat/veg. Yup halo halo is such a good one to have during hot day :D
Oh yes glad you guys got to try some good Filipino food over there! I just had tapsilog this morning lol.. and oh yeah, pork adobo!! Glad you guys got the staple food! Sisig, kare kare, halo halo.. man, you guys got it all! I can eat those every day lol.. great job guys! I need to try them over there.. 😋
Yum, that kare kare looks so comforting. Never say no to the desserts. Leche flan is a must! We could eat so many of those. That halo halo is massive!! Wow 🤩
You came far for this restaurant but it seems totally worth it! 👍 Tapsilog ! What a complete breakfast. How was the sauce? The color of the sauce reminds us some black bean sauce. Yum
That’s right! Totally worth it 💯 The sauce is kinda of a sweet sauce, similar to the spices they use in making jerky, doesn’t taste like black bean sauce at all 😊
Gj grill near Queen Vic market good to try . Hubby grew up there so we try any place we can . Dandenong/ out west is not good. A new expensive place has opened up in the cbd
Filipinos love our dipping sauces and condiments… Tapa is meant to be dipped in spiced vinegar, while Kare-Kare needs to be paired with shrimp paste/bagoong.
For authenthic "silog" meals it has to be a garlic rice, since the "si" in silog means sinangag which is the Tagalog/Pilipino word for garlic rice. and eaten with the egg, meat and rice together.
I really wonder why most Filipinos who sell Halo Halo to Non-Filipinos don't take the initiative to tell them how to eat the dessert the way it should be eaten- thouroughly mixed. Halo Halo, literally translated into English, is "Mix-Mix".
Next you should mix the halo halo well...hence the name.... instead of eating ingredients individually. Mix it all until it is a slush of medley tasteful ingredients.
Ahhh yes we did it at the end, not in front of the camera. We tastes it individually for the video so we can taste the each of the ingredients to describe it 😊 Thanks for the suggestion!
Have you tried Filipino food before? Let us know what's your favourite dish for the Philippines in the comment below😊

Ube is awesome, such a wonderful ingredient in Filipino desserts 💜

You can't leave the restaurant without trying dessert! 😀 The amount is quite generous! Indeed filling dessert.
Haha yeah can’t resist the dessert display at this restaurant 😅

Yes please have a try! If you don’t know what to order, ask the lady owner there. She is very friendly and willing to explain 😊
Should also try jollibee. Thank you for eating and trying some filipinos foods. God bless and stay safe. Hope you visit my country philippines
We want to try it for the longest time but unfortunately there is no Jolibee here in Australia. Will try it in another country when we travel 😊

Tapsilog is so good! Now I want now for breakfast too 😋
Any other Filipino dishes you can suggest to try next? 😊
@@TwoHungryDiners Try pancit, sinigang, lumpia, crispy pata, and if you feel a little daring, balut or diniguan hehe..
Yum, that kare kare looks so comforting. Never say no to the desserts. Leche flan is a must! We could eat so many of those. That halo halo is massive!! Wow 🤩
Everything is delicious! Even the dessert blew us away 🤤
Filipino food sounds interesting may go and try. I went to Jo's Grill the Indonesian Grill restaurant after seeing your vlog last time it was good 👍
Definitely try this if you're around the area. That's great to hear you tried Jo's Grill and liked the food. 😍
You can try Mama Lor’s as well. It is also in the same area. 😀
We need to try it next 😃

We’ll check out GJ’s grill next time, heard that it’s good too 👍🏻
I would eat Kare Kare with a little bit of shrimp paste. Some would use fish sauce. They add flavor to the food.
The resto should have given you spiced vinegar for the tapsilog and bagoong for the kare kare.
Hello everyone, I hope you are all safe and healthy
Lovely ADOBO and MY Halo HALO ... Excellent...
Cheers,
PRadeep.
Delicious! 🤤👍🏻

Karen Karen? You mean Kare Kare with sweet spicy shrimp paste on the side? It really is Yummy!
