They say genius is rare in females but most men only receive it posthumously. She worked on her craft with such brilliance and intent that we often say there will never be another. She could have died nameless but achieved the success her mother never did, and the love she felt was denied her because of it.

Back in school I had to do an art research project on Andy Warhol, and the famous work of Marilyn Monroe was one of the works studied. I absolutely love Marilyn Monroe, not just for her image but more so for her human side. Her life was difficult from the get and she suffered from a lack of love. All the fame and scrutiny only exaggerated this feeling. I've watched so many of her interviews and she spoke so intelligently and with so much awareness of how fame is dehumanizing. Her loneliness was so evident 😔
