I've recently started to use Magnesium oil, DMSO and a percussion gun on my dupuytren's. I've been through an operation for the middle finger. This time it's the small finger. I know it ain't a cure but it definitely prevents contraction. I do it morning and night. I am one of the unfortunate ones who also has pain in the area.
PatC 1962 can you explain what some of those treatments are, percussion gun? Etc.... I have it in right hand caused after a wrist fracture. Straight after the fracture I ended up with CRPS which lasted about 10 months and just months rafter the fracture I found DC. I actually diagnosed both myself from knowing a friend who had CRPS and from researching I discovered Dupuytrens (not difficult as it has tell tale signs n symptoms). I bought both to the hospital Drs attention and they investigated and agreed. I sadly have quite a bit of pain in my hand, wrist and one specific spot which even hurts to touch half way up forearm on outer ( no one can identify what this sharp stabbing pain is?) I no longer have CRPS though. The tightness in my hand involves the little finger and ring finger maybe slightly middle finger but the hard nodule in palm is at little n ring finger on palm. Then the section between first finger n thumb is also pulling n very tight. I can feel the ridge of ligament or whatever it is quite hard in that webbed section between finger n thumb and it pulls over to centre of palm. Also what I’d call the “heel” of my palm has a tight pulling sensation. They say Dupuytrens doesn’t cause pain...😳😳😣 I don’t agree and having it I feel that simply the tightening of ligaments, muscles etc surely must in some cases cause pain along with the regular nodules n hardening of area. Very frustrating having both hand pain from the DC AND wrist pain remaining from the actual fracture even though xrays say it healed well. I did the fracture on 29 June 2018. Wrist n hands hurting now just from typing on iPad. Anything else you or others out there have tried or info you’ve discovered I’d appreciate. Cheers ...Lisa , 54 y/o...Perth West Australia
@@lisasaxon7828 I feel your pain,i was experience the situations issues with you,I tired surgery and a lot of stuff, nor seems working, until started using some natural herbs mixture, since then my pain has been reduce and lumps are no longer visible and my finger is going back little by little to its normal positions. I can link you to the herbalist who gave me the mixture if you are interested.
Lisa T sorry but I've only had notification today of a reply. You poor thing it sounds like you have more than DC to contend with. Well I've got it in both hands but only pain in left hand at the little finger. Clearly pressing on a nerve. I have nodules in both hands on ring and little finger. The contraction is generally worse when it involves growth at the knuckle. In any case you can try Magnesium oil mixed with DMSO . You can order a ready mix of this on Amazon. I mix it myself. I massage as often as possible. I bought a percussion gun online for massaging any injuries in the body but use it on the hand. I believe I'm slowing contraction considerably. When I wake up it is tighter but with massage I can flatten nodules and free the hand. This is good for me as playing guitar is important. I had an operation on middle finger about 6 years ago and thankfully no return of nodules yet. I do have nodules in my right foot arch which only started this year.
Just touching base to mention that there are a number of Dupuytrens pages on Facebook. I learned about using radiation therapy there (via an experienced radiation oncologist). The key is not to wait, since it's most effective before serious contracture. Alternatively, if you're at contracture, you can use RT after surgery or needling to prevent recurrence. Not experimental/ this is an established therapy. It works because DD is related to cancer (tho not malignant.) Covered by most insurance.

How was the surgery is it worthwhile?

Angela surgery worked for me and no sign of a return of nodules yet. 6 years. But I believe that lots of manipulation with magnesium is helping.
how I'd love to get just that
