Swiss Trolleys in Zurich - VBZ Trolleybusbetrieb in Zürich

Trolleybuses have been running in Switzerland's largest city since spring 1939. Presently the network has an extent of more than 54 km and some lines also run in battery mode off wire.
Most trolleybus routes in Zürich purposefully complement the extensive tram network and therefore are either radial or tangent lines. No other European city has as many double-articulated trolleys as Zürich, all of which have been supplied by the domestic builder Hess with electric equipment from Kiepe. This footage shows trolleybus operations on various routes at different locations around the city and was filmed in both 2020 and 2021.

Zürich hat ein weitläufiges Trolleybusnetz das vor allem durch Radial- und Tangentstrecken geprägt ist. Die gegenwärtig sechs aktiven Linien 31, 32, 33, 46, 72 und 83 werden in den kommenden Jahren durch die Elektrifizierung der Linie 80 ergänzt. Die Fahrzeuge verkehren mit 600 V Gleichstrom.
