Finally, Daring Do has truly earned the title of "Pony Indiana Jones"
Granted, even the most extreme Nightmare cultist isn't as bad as the "nationist socialists" Indiana Jones faced in his adventures...
Wait, I just remembered Chirropteria and all of the fun things they like to do. Ok, maybe a few of them do indeed have the nat-socs beat for evil points.
(Not Nightmare Moon herself though, she is amazing and perfect and never does anything wrong!)
Also, teeny tiny little nit pic, but I do prefer the old Celestial Resistance's flag to the new design. The Equestrian-ified Union Jack looked pretty neat imo.
@@mr.kittenface1671 Yeah, Chiropterra is definitely the much more messed up part of that whole group. Nightmare moon, it depends on which path you go down how bad she is, but none of them come anywhere close to the worst Chirropterians you can get.
@eudstersgamersquad6738 Agreed, and from a narrative perspective, merciful Nightmare Moon with Rarity by her side is one of my favorite in the whole game, and I've jokingly coined it the "Warlord Martin Luther King Jr. Route"
I'm glad I was able to watch this video during one of my work breaks (I was wearing earbuds, and the screen is 90% maps and text, so there is no need to worry about awkward looks from coworkers).
But I must say, I am very, very eager for tomorrow morning to arrive.

@eudstersgamersquad6738 Before I go to bed for the night, I wanted to share my other Nightmare Moon meme option: the "Divorce Route" which entails the fact that as the Lunar Empire, you can have Nightmare Moon marry Sombra if he proposes...
...yet still justify, declare war on, and annex him.
(It was a cringe ship anyways)
@ Fair. I really see both the Sombra nightmare moon and Sombra Chrisalis ships as just political marriages. As such, I have only ever chosen the third option when playing as Sombra that is not a political marriage.
*November 1, 1007
15 days before the Civil War*
Estiphon walked through the halls of the radio station, noting just how much it had expanded since he had first joined back in 1005.
But it wasn't just the building that expanded, either. Now that Daily Equus News was starting to break into the mainstream, more employees were being hired, mostly for more minor jobs such as maintenance or electricians. But they didn't matter much, at least not to Estiphon. As far as he was concerned, Daily Equus News was and always would be four ponies and a griffin, and Estiphon had an important visit ahead with one of those equines.
Estiphon raised his claws to the doorknob to Glistening Light’s main office and recording studio. A weird feeling briefly came over the griffin…
…it, it had seemed like an eternity had past since they last spoke, but it felt good to be back.
Opening the door, Estiphon immediately spotted the old crystal stallion at his desk, reading something or another.
“Hey Lights!”
Estiphon spoke in a raised tone, causing Glistening Light to jump from the surprise.
“Ah, Estiphon, glad to have you!”
Glistening Light said with a warm smile, having quickly recovered from the shock.
“Please, take a seat.”
He followed up, pointing to a rather cozy looking chair in front of his desk.
Estiphon spread his wings and did a quick swoop, sending himself just over the back of the chair and firmly ploping into the seat in a casual position. The chair let off a loud squeak in protest of this action.
“Please do be careful with the furniture, Estiphon.”
Glistening Light said patiently in the face of the young griff's antics.
“Oh, uh, sorry boss”
Estiphon said briefly dropping his nonchalant disposition. However, almost immediately his ears perked up as he leaned on the desk towards Glistening Light.
“so Lights, what do you have for me? Maybe a trip to New Mareland? That would be amazing! They have so many cool things there, especially the guns!”
“actually Estiphon, I need you to provide assistance to the crew I have heading into Nova Griffonia. Apparently, tensions are rising between the current elected governor and his senate, and I need eyes and ears over there to find out what the details are.”
“Provide assistance, again?!”
Estiphon said in protest.
“come on Lights, when are you going to let me do the reporting?”
“When you have more experience, Estiphon. You are a very intelligent young griff, but you are still only nineteen years of age.”
“pff, My whole life is always just my elders underestimating me. At sixteen I had already graduated that dingy public school in Trottingham. Seventeen and I had a year at the Yale colleges under my belt. Eighteen and I just got hired by you. What are other griffins doing at nineteen? Just getting out of school and into some stupid job like retail or something. That, or trying to sneak gin out of their parents' special cabinet when they're home alone… I wouldn't mind that actually…”
Glistening Light let out a small snort at that last statement.
“Like I said Estiphon, you are very intelligent. But life needs more than raw knowledge to get through it. You will get your opportunity, I promise. But you'll need to practice a bit of patience first, ok?”
Glistening Light said in a calm, almost fatherly like voice.
“Alright”
Estiphon responded with a little more understanding in his voice.
However, Soon a very devious smile grew on his beak.
“You know what, I think I figured it out already. You don't want me talking to the public because you're afraid I'm going to replace you! Oh yes, once ponies hear the amazing voice of Sir Estiphon, with all of its intellect and more importantly, charisma, you'll be out of a job in seconds! Give it a week and I'll have Daily Equus News be the number one station in all of Equus! I'll be so great the two sisters will summon me to their fancy little palace. And then, then I'll be the new king once I Wow them with my pure amazingness! A griffin on an alicorn's throne, now there's an idea! I'll have to rename Equestria to “The Western Griffinian Empire” actually, scratch that, my country will take the name Griffinian Empire, and those old birds in the east can rename themselves “Eastern Griffinian Empire”.
Estiphon finished, ending with a laugh.
“You certainly do have an active imagination.”
Glistening Light said with a grin
“Hey, you never have to worry about me being boring!”
Estiphon responded, curling his bottom three claws, whilst pointing out his top two in the vague shape of a handgun.
The two shared another brief laugh.
“So uh, what are the rest of the Big Four doing right now?”
“Big Four”?
Glistening Light questioned, a little confusion clinging to his voice.
“Yeah, Big Four. As your studio grows you'll get more stuff, more employees, more all of that. But before there was any of them, there was us! Me, Carrot Cake, Silver Charmed, and you of course! And unlike everyone else, we're more than just employees, we're friends!”
Glistening Light gave a slow nod, hiding that any more of this talk and he might get teary eyed.
“Well, let's see. Carrot Cake is over near Tall Trees right now. I have some interesting news about a self proclaimed “princess”, I think Glitter Sparkles was the name, causing quite a stir that needed to be investigated. And Silver Charmed? Well, you're well aware of just how much of a stir this Threstrial Rights movement is causing? Especially in Southeast Equestria. And the threstrials, especially the ones there, are very… distrustful of outsiders. Silver Charmed is the perfect pony for the job, plus she did specifically request to be sent there as well.”
“Ah, sending the Nightmare cultists a new recruit ehh? Good on you, they need the numbers.”
“Silver Charmed is not a Nightmare cultist.”
Said in still calm, but more serious tone.
“You should ask her what her opinions on Celestia are then. And Nightmare Moon, for that matter.”
Said back nonchalantly, not picking up the fact the conversation had headed into more serious territory.
“I have, and she does have a much different perspective than most ponies, mainly the three tribes. And in a way I understand.”
“Heh, you understand?”
Estiphon said with amusement.
“Well you see Estiphon, this whole Nightmare business… well the Crystal ponies are somewhat detached from it. When Sombra banished us along with himself, it was the two sisters on the throne of Equestria. When we returned, it was still them, just as it had been When we left. Everything involving Nightmare Moon happened when we were gone. No crystal pony has experienced an Equestria with just Celestia on the throne. And, I must admit, it's odd that after reappearing over a thousand years in the future, I see less threstrials in everyday society now. I would have suspected that a millennium would have been enough time for them to fully integrate, but outside of the major cities on the east coast, and the southern jungles themselves, you almost never see threstrials.”
“Huh, I guess you're right.”
Estiphon said, finally casting off his casual demeanor.
“I guess it doesn't make much sense to me. You're all ponies, right? It would be like if griffins with grey and black feathers were distrustful of griffins with white and brown feathers.”
“Well, there is a lot more than visual differences between threstrials and the rest of the three tribes.”
Glistening Light explained.
“I guess. I just hope Carrots and Silver Charmed doesn't have another argument over it.”
Estiphon finished with a sigh.
“I wouldn't worry about it. The two of them are very good friends, despite their different views on history. And like you stated earlier. The four of us are more than just co-workers, we're friends.
Speaking of which, are you available to come back on November 11th?”
“ehh, sorry Glistening Light, but there is a hockey game that day and I've been looking forward to going for ages!”
Estiphon said with anticipation and excitement.
“Oh, that's perfectly fine. I was just thinking that both miss Silver Charmed and Carrot Cake were going to be at the studio that day, and that perhaps all four of us could gather for a visit-”
“Well of course I'm free that day!”
@@mr.kittenface1671 Estiphon is great! I am loving the vibe of the whole situation too! All the happiness and hope, because who could think Equestria could fall to itself. I love the explanation on how Crystal Ponies feel about Nightmare moon and most of all, I’m just loving reading this again. It’s been so long and it is just so nice. Whoop! Whoop!
@eudstersgamersquad6738 I'm so excited you're enjoying reading again! And I am very happy I finally get
a chance to show off the Daily Equus News character reworks. They by far had the least (in fact, in some cases, no) amount of personality, backstory, or potential story chains and character development. But I've had a lot of time to fully develop them. They should all now be unique characters that will fit well with the rest of the cast whilst still standing out. Estiphon was by far the most extreme of this case. I believe he only had a singular comment where he had dialog, and all I had for his character was "he griffin" and "he young."
I'm excited to show off both Carot Cake and Silver Charmed next! In some other playthrough, I can start unraveling Glistening Light’s backstory, too. But that will be for later.
I'm just so excited to finally reintroduce all my characters!
But not as excited as I am to reveal... "them"
But they'll come when the time (and playthrough) is right. Until then, no spoilers!
@ Genuinely, I did not remember Estiphon was a character. You could have said he was completely new and I would have believed you. Lol. But, that is exciting! I’m excited to see how they Interact and how the development goes then and these mysterious characters in probably a few years. Knowing me, I’ll probably keep missing the paths and nations I need to play, but we will see.
@eudstersgamersquad6738 A quick look and I found it: Episode 5 of your Equestria playthrough Estiphon makes his appearance.
And as for the others...
Well, keep playing the major nations and you'll find them.
Any path will do, but a very special playable breakaway state (just do a bad job and you'll get it) will add an amazing ending and character development to the story, so much so that I think it would be able to match, if not surpass Haki's story during the Ascedancy playthrough.
One more additional hint:
Lets just say a lot of the nations and routes I've recommended to play in the past have been specifically requested because of stories I had planned for them...
@ Nice one Estiphon. A real staring role. Well, I’m sure your role with grow a lot as your character has. Umm… Is it Changeling lands, maybe? That is the only nation off the top of my head that I remember you recommending that I have not played yet. I would have to go back and check otherwise.
