Your content is excellent! I use Solidworks and Tekla for work but have been dabbling in Freecad for a few years now. I don't do much mechanical modelling. I mainly use it for parts I want to print but it can certainly do so much more.
Really very good. I appreciated the tip since ASM4 to make gears with the Gear workshop. You have to go through Part Design then Geart WB. Do you use Auto Refine from Preferences? What is your FC version? Thank you for this video and the time spent to edit it.👋
thank you for the delicate work. one question in 43:07 the formula: (51 ring/18 planet) comparing with the follow one (1 + 51 ring / 18 sun), more understandable.
Thank you for watching. I am not sure about your question. 2-ring is 51 teeth and 2-sun is 15 teeth. So not sure about the equation (1+51 ring / 18 sun). Please let me know again about your question if you don't mind.
@KK_CAD 42:44 and 43:07 show two different formulas. Regardless of the number of ring teeth (51 or 54), the standard formula is 1+K, where 𝐾=𝑍𝑟/𝑍𝑠 . The formula at 43:07 is not regular, if I'm not mistaken. ref: Nsun+K*Nring=(1+K)*Ncarrier Thanks for your kindness.
42:44 and 43:07 show different formulas because the reference rotations are different. Formula 42:44 "1 s-c" is the rotation of the blue shaft (sun gear). "rotation1" is the speed of the orange shaft (carrier). It uses a typical gear ratio formula. Formula 43:07 "2p-c" is the speed of green planetary gear. "rotation2" is the speed of the light green shaft (carrier). To calculate the angular speed of the planetary gear from the carrier, the formula is different. Hope it helps.
Amazing tutorial! But I have a problem when I do the revolution 180° of the housing I get a seam edges and can't remove them, same thing happens when I duplicate the housing. But when you do it you don't get any seam edges. Is there a setting for that? Thank you
Hi, I used "mirror" to duplicate the item. After you duplicate the item, select the duplicated item, and go the the combo view panel and find "Refine" which is under Part Design. Change it to "true". Then it will remove the seam. Another way is - go to "Edit" at the top, select 'preference", then select "Part/ Part Design", at "General", check the box for "Automatically refine ...." . Hope it helps.
Wonderful tutorial
Glad you liked it. Thank you !

Thank you! Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Outstanding video! Thanks!
Thank you!
You are an amazing teacher 👍
Thank you! 😃
Great tutorial!
Glad you think so!

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I did use Auto Refine but not sure if it works all the time. My gear module is 1.2.0 and I think it is up-to-date.

@KK_CAD Je vous suis, j'étudie cette vidéo étape par étape, très instructif très beau projet.

if the rings are mobile, should be more distinct.
Thank you!
