GA4 Geo Workaround for Server Side Events

In this video, I explain a workaround for the issue with Google Analytics 4 not associating measurement protocol events, such as server side purchase events, with client side geo data. I demonstrate how to create a session level segment to view purchases by country, region, or city. I also show how to create more sophisticated segments, like Europe excluding the United Kingdom. This workaround can help you overcome the limitations of Google Analytics 4 for server side events.

Nice idea, although this would mean that the purchase event has the same session ID as when the purchase was initiated, correct?

That's correct. SlideRule does do this so it works with our app. Anyone implementing the Measurement Protocol would likely have to do the same to get anything useful out of it
