It's always interesting to watch SY take questions, even though some are lame. We need to sign Mo, then the D is slowly taking shape with Edvinsson and Johansson moving in, hopefully, in a few years this D group will be outstanding. We do need a bruising winger though for the small forward group, to enforce and protect. Looking forward to puck drop. Good luck to Mr. Yzerman and the entire team.
Such a genuine and honest guy, always so calm and grounded. One of the most well respected people in the league. He built it in Tampa and he’ll do it again in Detroit. Two or 3 more years to grow and Detroit will be a perennial Cup contender for the foreseeable future, until Yzerman retires is my thought.
Abs cannot wait to see this team together!!!❤❤❤ Steve has I believe masterminded a bad a$$ team! Cannot wait to see the chemistry them together ❤😊!!!!!
Glad to hear Stevie praise skelleftea for their professional collaboration. ASP is injured again, as several of Skelleftea's defenders have become during the pre-season in the SHL. The SHL premiere is less than a week away and Skelleftea is looking for reinforcements on D. ASP got injured during the JVM and played injured in the final against USA and he was predicted to be out for two months Jan-24 with upper-knot injury back.
Ofc he is making the team, there isnt another option for him besides waiving him and that isnt going to happen. The real question is, will he see much time on the ice. This organization has a reputation of picking vets for positions. No matter how bad Petry played last year, he always was on the ice.
@@jinorimo6090 I think too many people forget how broken Holland left this team. Bad contracts, awful drafts. I mean we are STILL paying Abdelkader....
@jakerux6092 very very clear progression every year, only player on the roster from when he took over is larkin. it is in fact working, every year getting better.
Kind of a boring presser, to be honest. The only new information we had was Steve thinks the Mo contract is close, which we all couldve guessed. Steve just gives the standard non-answer answers. Kind of like when he played, you judge him by his actions not his words.
@@spencerdobkin9479 Me too, however - Seider is the bigger fish because of his position. I really think the organization, or at least Steve and Drapes have had a grudge against her since the whole Covid situation. I’ve noticed they are a little more spicy with their responses towards her since then lol. At least Steve mostly.
@@twitch7515 what r u talking about? St James is one of few sport writers that asks real questions and tries to ask a question to get Steve give an interesting response instead of GM talk. She also got the only info from Steve in this press conference with the question about Mo.
Reality is fans and people are constantly judging and that's just part of it. Yzerman doesn't have an exact timeline but fans and media do. It's been six years and that's a long time. I think the drafting has been solid but not perfect. It takes time for these young guys so I say give it another five years
In 10 years, Steve Yzerman will.clearly distance himself as the best GM in detroit sports history. Even better than Brad Holmes is currently being judged.
As much as I enjoy new content these are super unnecessary. Dogs barking, Helene barking, people making noise, asking questions that you know won't get an answer. WTF is the point? Lol
My question is why haven't you brought in a enforcer to protect your stars? And also your kind of small and soft in your top six, are you concerned that you don't have a power forward? Who's going to protect Larkin?
The enforcer role doesnt exist in the NHL, pretty much. Just ask Toronto fans if they think Reaves is worth the money they paid em. I do believe u need a player that holds team accountable, but those Probert or McCarty guys r hard to find.
@@doozey365 Reaves was good for the Leafs late in the season and I don't remember Matthews getting knocked out cold like Larkin. Lots of teams have enforcers. Every team in the Atlantic has one but the Red Wings
