Although the show really needed her voice, she would've outshined the others. She's just too strong. Vocally, she's well seasoned and honestly she could be on the same level as Baek Ji Young.

I beg to disagree with the hidden voice, if you listen to ballad songs and hit songs of T-ara. Soyeon shines the most, it's the K-Netizen's fault since they focus too much on the faces of the group and they forgot to look at the bigger picture which is "TALENT".
Singing for pop song and ballad song is different. Ballad is more about conveying emotions using vocals. Thats why everybody was shocked eventhough Soyeon here didnt really use high note vocals, because her breathing and her vocal really expressed the melancholic emotions. In pop songs, you have to convey a cheerful and happy emotion, and to do that, you have to use different style of singing. You cant sing emotionally like Soyeon here for Roly Poly, it doesnt work.
I think (and hope) it is a good thing. Seems she left the show voluntarily, saying she did not want to take the opportunity from others who have gone through more hardship and need it more. Means she has enough confidence to pave her own path forward without the help. Also rumor has it that she is releasing a solo album soon -- tiaradiadem.com/2020/10/soyeon-shares-how-she-met-her-current-agency-after-a-3-year-break-about-her-upcoming-album-and-debut-as-a-lyricist-her-latest-activities-and-other-stories/. T-ara was considered top tier 2nd generation girl group, even going neck to neck w/ SNSD during Roly Poly promotion. Hell I still mad Hwayoung happened 🤬 Despite the bullshit that was happening in T-ara, they found success overseas and I believe all members are fortunate enough to have a upper class lifestyle. Super sad when she left but her reason was justified 😭 I really hope we can see her doing more solo projects.
