I love that we finally get some pionus content from a large youtuber, they're my favorite bird and I'm considering getting one.

Yay!! So nice to see more Pionus Content! They definitely need a good chunk of confidence building! Took my girl a whole year of training. Good luck Ragmor, looking forward to seeing more Pionus!

Kelsey and Ragmor seem to be well on their way, but as Dave said practice and patience as you eventually step farther away. Impressed with Ragmor's ability to step up on strangers in a foreign space, I think he really wants to please his human. Thanks for taking us along, see you soon!

Disclaimer: FOR ME... Pionus are the best! Been researching and watching all I can on species. For me, Pionus are a full on go. Too bad I can't find ANY in upstate NY as of yet. So chill and sweet.

My white capped pionus baby is coming home the beginning of next month… this will be my first parrot larger than a lovebird. I so want to do right by. This little one, and give the the best start in life that they can possibly have. I’m so glad to see pionus content!

I am so often impressed by the skills and connection with their birds that some of your masterclass students come to the class with. Kelsey is no exception! She has a great relationship with her Ragnor and has already done great work with him. I have no doubt she'll have great success with him.

What is the best treat for Pionuses? We just bought our 2nd parrot 3 days ago who is a white capped pionus and I'd like to know what to aim for that is liked by them but also not too bad for their health. Thanks!

Hi, i hope someone could help me. I've adopted a 4 months old Pionus Parrot. She is freaking out of me. Every time I open The door of the cage, she climbs to The other side trying to scape from me. The breeder told me that I should grab her everyday and put her un my arm, and as many times as she flights off, repeat the process until she understand I am of not danger, but It isn't working, she is even more afraid every time. What should I do? Is It posible yo gain her confidence or is it no longer possible? Should I just wait her to approach me?
If someone with experience could help me I would appreciate!

Might be hand position that’s causing some issues! When the Owner has her hand more parallel to the ground Ragnar refuses to fly and when she hold her hand more vertical he seems to come to her. My Pionus does this as well making him work harder to land.

Hi! My Pionus doesn’t seem to hate me, she is not afraid of my hands, and she tends to come to me for treats when she sees me. However, she just won’t step up on my hand no matter how long I wait(my hand stay still). I’ve had her for a week now. Im wondering if she just needs a little more time or am I not doing the right thing? Thanks a lot!

My Tesla didn't know how to fly either (African Grey Timnah 18yrs) never clipped. I taught him to fly to soft landings like the couch or my bed. Now he flies like a champ. He's not a treat birdie but does fine with the clicker. Still won't land on my hand I'm wondering if he will in his own time. I keep trying and hope he will be able to free fly one day.

Just begin with that step up off a perch. Then, a step back away from the perch after a while of the step up working. Get a hop over. One hop at a time towards flying to your hand. :)

Starting the video with a purple Kool-Aide headed mask wearer was enough to click away elsewhere. You have to be smarter than your bird to train it.
