Seriously underrated channel, your explanations are always clear, concise and supported by great practical examples. Thank you for your effort and consistency!
Your videos are awesome. I am ETL Developer and come from traditional Microsoft Stack (SQL - SSIS - SSAS - Power BI) and my goal is learn all this great tools and concepts. Thank you for your videos.!
I was trying to use Airbyte to read local CSV files with around 3.5 million rows per day. the performance was quite bad, but it was so great on development experience.
I have to load data from SQL Server(Onpremise) to Azure SQL for 100 different customers. They all are using same database structure. Is there a dynamic way to create pipelines so that I don't have to do it manually 100 times?? Or Can I create just 1 generic pipeline and change source connection dynamically. Destination (AZure SQl) is anyways same for all.
Git clone no longer has the same content. Instead the new approach is with the command 'abctl local install'. Unfortunately it failed to complete with an error that it was unable to get some packages. I see a few with similar error chiming in on the forums. It would be great if they responded with a suggestion on the work around.
Avoid airbyte. It's a bull crap. I am so frustrated with their app. Just starting the Airbyte from docker is so unpredictable. Sometimes it works sometimes it won't. It's absolutely unbearable. Also no two youtube videos on how to install this BS are the same. Their installation process changes faster than a chameleon on rainbow. Today's it's one process, tomorrow it's another. You can install it using abctl, but you can also do it using cli, oh but wait you can do it using docker compose too. No no you can install this even by aligning your chakras through meditation. None of their crappy process actually works foolproof. My company recently started using Airbyte and we are so so fed up now that we are seriously looking for an alternative. It's extremely annoying.
Just starting airbyte using docker is a pain in the ass. It's a complete hit or miss and you never know when airbyte will betray you totally. My company started using airbyte and it is so so annoying to sometimes just start it, we are considering alternatives now.
Good Video and great explanation. I am facing one issue. 1. when i tried to work on small schemas(having few tables) i am able to configure connection and able to push the data to snowflake. But when i tried to use big schemas, it always throwing some errors. I am using Redshift as source so is there any way to overcome this? what size data Airbyte can move at once?
Very great and useful video, thanks. I am new to Airbyte, and I selected 'Destination Default' for 'Destination Namespace' first with no error to sync the data. But when I tried to make changes on Namespace with 'Mirror Source Structure' and reset the data, I got error with 'Current role does not have permissions on the target schema', do I need to grant the specific permission to the role? Thank you.
Can I sync data from JSON files to a PostgreSQL database with ease? Right now I'm using custom scripts to bulk insert data from many many JSON files. I wonder if it can be optimized with Airbyte
Hi Gabriel, Airbyte has connectors for both JSON & PostgreSQL so it appears to be possible. I have not personally tried this but it's worth a shot! airbyte.com/connections/JSON-File-to-PostgreSQL
i got an authentication error while doing the docker compose up and it doesnt show AIRBYTE BANNER. When i click on local host link i go nowhere. plz help
Hello Kahan! Beforehand Nice video like always! In the companny that Im working we use Airbyte and we love it, it's amazing tool. But we are on the point that we need document, I want to ask if maybe you know any way to document the process that works in Airbyte. Thank you for these kind of videos, love you bro!, Nice Job!
Exactly. They are making sure nobody accidentally starts using their app. That's why. It's such an annoying tool. The installation process always changes. Every 3 months. Why can't they have consistency.
You can't. It's a crappy tool now. It used to be a good reliable one but now that's no longer true. Use alternatives. Try meltano or some proprietary tools.
You skipped a setup step of google client id and client secrets and refresh token (which are annpoying) when linking the first source, but overall good overview
Airbyte is pretty junk now… the open source just dumps all the data into a single record in some weird json looking format in MsSql… I’ve tried downgrading the connectors etc 🤷🏽♂️
I totally agree. Airbyte is a waste now. My company was using airbyte but now we are so fed up that we are seriously looking for an alternative. It's a disaster to say the least.
@@SwavimanKumar I’ve pretty much given up on any fos application… I use python now… I haven’t looked back since… happy to help get you going in the right direction at no cost if you need help…

Thanks Mike for a short and concise tutorial! I have 1 question: Why we need Docker to run Airbyte? Can I skip that step?
