Nice to see you splurging too. It’s a good example that frugal people are just smart about when and where they spend. Love the idea of have different demi-bottles for different meals because that’s what adds to the decadent feeling isn’t it?
We splurged with our 20.00 grocery budget this week and went to burger king had hamburgers and fries. I am cooking a big pot of rice now for chicken/pork rice for the next couple of days. I had some bags of cooked cabbage and carrots in the freezer along with a handful or two of leftover pork. All cooked in chicken broth, should be good enough for us. Next weeks treat will be oranges and fruits again.
Merry Christmas to you both. Thank you for all of your guidance pearls of wisdom and sharing your lives with us all. I often find myself saying " what would frugal Queen say?" When I cook and have leftovers or batch cook or realise I don't need to buy something as it is a want and not a need. I've learnt so much from you. Thank you so so much x😊
Happy Christmas you two...yes, a srious haul, but it is Christmas!! Thank God we can do it..Id to laugh at Mike with the CoCo pops...there's a child in all of us...❤❤
That looks like the makings of a wonderful holiday feast!!! Enjoy every minute and morsel! Merry Christmas, Mike and Jane and may God bless you in the New Year! ❤
If you transfer the salad from the bag to a plastic container lined with kitchenpaper, it will last longer. Just have to change the kitchenpaper when it's too wet.
I would love to have some of those treats, so tasty looking. We are just getting over having covid so we weren't able to do any shopping since November. January will be our big stock up and we will treat ourselves then. We normally splurge like you both do, just not this year. Wishing you both a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Yes I saw the price of cucumbers here in UK and decided not to bother. I got a deal on radish and a couple of big Ted peppers so that should suffice for us. You just have to pick and choose what you buy to get the best bang for your buck as it were.
Hi Jane and Mike 🤗 I always enjoy your shopping hauls. You always do so well even when adding in a few extra and well-deserved treats 🥰 I love San Pelegrino too! oh you just reminded me about the orange juice for Christmas 😋 those blinis looked like little crumpets!!! nothing like a bit of toasty crumpet with butter and jam!!!LOL
This was so much fun to watch! I do the same thing, save up all year to get some yummy treats and fancy food for Christmas week that I don't get the rest of the year. Merry Christmas Jane and Mike! 🎄
Merry Christmas to you and Mike from Columbus , Ohio , USA ... so enjoy being a part of your interesting life ! Here's hoping the New Year will bring us all some welcome relief from the economic stress of this year ! Enjoy your "goodies" in good health !
The Christmas 🎄 shop up is always good fun, enjoy the spoils over the silly season😊✔️ Happy a very happy Christmas with your family and friends. Lovely video, thank you Jane and Mike
Wishing yourself and Mike a very happy Christmas. I have throughly enjoyed watching your videos over the past year. Thank you so much for all of the hard work you put in to create these videos,it's certainly helped me become more frugal as I'm sure it has for alot of your viewers. All the best for 2024 😊
A great big “Merry Christmas “ to both of you and your family and friends in France or Great Britain, from eastern Canada. Sending love and peace and best wishes for your health and happiness. Thank You for all your lovely Vlogmass videos. We have enjoyed the, immensely.
Prices not falling here at all this year, maybe because of the way Christmas falls this year or maybe not. Only got two offers out of my full Christmas shop, they were even selling christmas trees completely fallen apart at full price two days before Christmas.
No judgement from here, it was all in the budget, besides which, you don't know what I have spent and what I consider essential for Christmas! Just enjoy! Hope the dogs have some treats too. I'm currently busy sorting out the budget for next year. This is the aim, it will be tweaked as things go along if necessary. The main thing is to optimise my savings as far as possible, learning lessons from this year's experience.
Well done!! Having lived in the south west of france for many years (married to a Nicois) I enjoy your channel! Keep up the good work ! And happy christmas!
I got 2 ham joints weighing around 2KG each (both for £20) today from Iceland, absolutely huge and they will go in the freezer, I have stocked up on all the meat deals I could this year and have a lot of beef joints and also a small turkey crown in the freezer which will all keep us going for absolute months (crown was a bargain so I just got a small one). also have a fresh turkey for Christmas dinner which was also on sale with a long date for 29th December which is amazing. Lardons are crazy expensive here so I didn't get any of those. I have saved a lot of money getting these deals and my most excitement is the beef, not had a proper beef joint for so long I can't wait for a delicious full roast with yorkie puds! Loving all the veggies on sale here also and have a couple of KG bags of carrots and the biggest freshest parsnips seen for years. Absolutely loved your vlogmas videos so thank you for those. Merry Christmas and can't wait to see your adventures for 2024!
Great video! Agreed, Lindt absolutely top in my book for chocolate 🍫. My 1st choice always. I think I paid £3.99 for a really nice pack of smoked salmon yesterday and £2 for Blinis. Good idea to add your own cassis in, we do that, it works out much cheaper too, and create exactly the taste balance to suit ourselves. Hope you both have a fabulous Christmas and enjoy the extra treats too!🎉🌲🎁🍷🕊
Great haul Jane, but yes, it is more expensive than in the UK right now. The last couple of days there have been bags of veg advertised at 15p in leading supermarkets near me. Lovely selection you have though. Crisps are my weakness, not to mention chocolate. 🙈 Nice to take it easy as well. Can't beat it..🙌😃
Hi Jane, from what I have seen the only bargains I have found this year is big reductions on basic veg, meat remains very pricey, a goose to feed 6-8 people was £29.99 at Lidl, leg of lamp was around the same depending on on the weight. I too have been saving part of my shopping budget so I could buy a few treats for over Christmas.
Thank you for showing prices in other countries. In US turkeys are on sale, not sure about ham at the grocery store. We buy our ham from Honey Baked Ham 3 times a year. This year no turkey but ham and meatballs from a friend's recipe instead. Do you have friends and family in to share your treats? Do you observe Boxing Day? The US does not. Enjoy your Christmas.🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 Enjoy
We love "Hawaiian pizza" or ham and pineapple. I just ignore the people who say pineapple doesn't belong on pizza. It is my favorite kind. I usually add green bell peppers or whatever color I have to mine.
Hi Jane, really enjoy your videos. Those Lindt chocolates in the UK are not gluten free. Not sure if you are coeliac or just eat less gluten by choice, but if you are coeliac please be careful x
343.41€ is $378 US, £297 UK, $500 CAN, $555 AUSTRALIAN, $599 NZ.
Nice to see you splurging too. It’s a good example that frugal people are just smart about when and where they spend. Love the idea of have different demi-bottles for different meals because that’s what adds to the decadent feeling isn’t it?

Reminds me of Christmases we used to have...pre allergies to dairy, nuts and alcohol. I envy you, I really do. Enjoy and have a wonderful Christmas.

The only booze I ever buy is the cheapest vodka I can find to make my homemade Vanilla extract. And that's like a bottle every 2 or 3 years.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Shediac, New Brunswick Canada will be enjoying Atlantic lobster and scallops over the holidays.
Thanks so much

Thanks so much
I brought puff pastry, pie shells, stollen... panettone.
Enjoy
Please let us know all the ways to use oven cleaner.
Thanks
Wow, you spent more than me. I did 314.00 in Austin, Texas but included some extra stuff, including a personal cosmetic for myself.
That’s my big monthly shop too.
I must say, your earlier videos, I found your groceries to be "cheap", compared to Norway, but now we are quite the same, especially the meat prices.
I usually buy the reduced meat and the offers and deals. As I said in the video, there's no deals at Christmas. Thanks for watching.
Hi do lidl or aldi do cheap veg at Christmas in France?
No they don't. Our food is expensive but don't worry, our bills are low so we can eat well.

26th December is a normal day here, thanks for watching
We love "Hawaiian pizza" or ham and pineapple. I just ignore the people who say pineapple doesn't belong on pizza. It is my favorite kind. I usually add green bell peppers or whatever color I have to mine.
Thanks
Do you entertain during the Holidays with friends or families? How o you entertain
Yes we do. Thanks for watching.
Are you allowed some hens? Would you have some for the eggs?
No , too many foxes and pine marten and eggs are not expensive here, thanks for watching
Hi Jane, really enjoy your videos. Those Lindt chocolates in the UK are not gluten free. Not sure if you are coeliac or just eat less gluten by choice, but if you are coeliac please be careful x
They’re not for me, the red box is mine and they’re gluten free.
Jane Tesco have been selling 1 litre of Baileys for£10
10€ here too
The inflation price comparisons are terrible.
Thanks for watching
ARR MATEYS, BE HAVIN' A VERY PIRATEY CHRISTMAS
I paid over $9 (like €9) for a few parsnips a couple of days ago 😮
You paid €1.51😱😭
It's ridiculously expensive where we live
Sorry to hear that
Very nice pirates I say.If I were there I say you drink the rum I will babysit the pooch.
Thanks so much
Merry Christmas
Thanks,, you too
