Bangalore to Ooty is also a very good road trip, you have to go through Mudumalai tiger reserve and Bandipur Nation forest at the time of going to Ooty and from Ooty one can take a little detour to a place called Kunnur which is great place....

      @TheExplorester 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vinayak,
Ganpatipule beach is ofcourse not on the highway. But if you take that route between Mumbai to Goa, that is a good stop over.
Secondly, there are many beautiful places on the way which ofcourse we couldnt include in one video. So do mention those places in the comments here for other readers to see.
      Thankyou for watching the video.

Check the list below for the places which you can visit on the way...
      1. Karnala Fort Historical place. Near Panvel 2 hrs from Mumbai 70 to 80 kms.
You will get to see historical architecture of the era when Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj rulling in Maharashtra ot Swarajya. Karnala was the business hub and Panvel was the nearest Port to travel through Panvel Creek which meets sea at Belapur Creek and Arabian sea.
      2. Karnala Bird Sanctuary Near Panvel, same place where Karnala Fort is located. Rather when you start climbing the mountain on which this fort is, you have to go through a jungle route and that is an amazing hiking experience.
Karnala bird sanctuary is very famous in Western India for exclusive bird species which get to see through lenses. Bird lovers, photographers are found in big numbers at this place in weekends.
      3. Hotel sai palace for food lovers Near Panvel, this is an awesome place if you wish to taste local non veg or Malvani food.
      4. Pali Ashtvinayak Ganapati near Nagothane
After Pen you will come to Nagothane which is a famous town and railway station on the route. From here on 7 kms you can reach to Pali where one of the ancient Ganesh Mandir is located. This bappa is called as Ballaleshwar. If you a Ganapati Bhakt then surely you have to visit this place.
      5. Buddha caves at Mahad - after Karnala next best spot to go is near Mahad. There is river you will find along the road 15 kms before Mahad City... Here you will see natures best shot.
      6. Raigad Fort. From Mahad you will see signage towards left of your driving direction towards Goa. 20 kms drive towards Village Pachad and then either you go by walk or ropeways to reach the top to see Raigad Fort. The capital of Maratha Empire. Historical place.
      7. Kashedi Ghat. One of the longest mountain tranch on NH66. A drivers paradise. One who love driving will surely enjoy this place. Poladpur is the town next to Mahad on 70 kms, which is a junction spot to go to Mahabaleshwar. While crossing over Kashedi you will see few spots from where you can see Pratapgad. There is signage available by the name, " प्रतापगड दर्शन".
This kashedi ghat is as long as 18 kms.
      7. Parshuram ghat Near Chiplun.
This ghat is named after Lord Parshurama who is the one of the avtar of Lord Vishnu. In this ghat, at top you will get to see the ancient temple of Lord Parshurama. Beside that you will get some restaurants at top from where you can see chiplun valley, vashishti river, and amazing route of konkan railway.
      9. Hotel Abhishek Chiplun
One should try the food at this hotel which is called as Abhishek.
      10. Dervan Shiv Srushti near Chiplun
If you want to feel peace then visit this place. Dervan is around 25 kms from Chiplun on the route towards Goa. Once you will reach dervan then you have to take left towards walavlakar hospital. After taking left you have to drive around 8 kms to reach Shiv Srushti. There is samadhi of one Hindu Monk and you will feel the peace at this place. The concern trust also created a museum in the memory of Maratha Soldiers who were sacrificed their life for Swarajya and for Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
      11. Sangameshwar
There is a Lord Rama Temple but no one do puja at this place due to some stories around. You can see it. From sangmeshwar you will get a shortcut of you wish to reach Ganapatipule and then through coastal road to Goa. But i will recommend you not to go to Ganapatipule if you wish to reach Goa ASAP.
But if you choose to go to Ganpatipule then also you can reach Goa but road conditions is not like highway rather consider little bumpy, through villages...
12.a. If you choose to skip Ganapatipule then there are only small towns you will be able to see but now almost road expansion completed from Rajapur to end of Sindhudurg, may be with in 2 hours you can reach Goa.
12.b. If you choose to go to Ganapatipule from sangameshwar through a shortcut. Then you can see Ganapatipule Temple. A Beautiful Lord Ganesh Temple at sea beach. Almost 2 hours drive from Sangameshwar you will reach there.
Here you will get all the sea sports or water sports facilities in place. Nice luxury hotels.
      i. Purngad Fort
This was also Maratha Empires historical monument. This was recently repaired and restored by our archaeological department of State Government. One should see as it is also on route.
      ii. Ratnagiri
Then comes Ratnagiri. A city in the Kokan Region. A major Railway station and district head centre. This place is famous for Thiba Palace, Ratndurg Fort, sea food, alphonos mangoes.
      iii. Pawas.
This is a small town on the route which is famous for Swami Swarupanand Math which is a meditation center for their devotees. One can feel the peace of mind here.
      iv. Vijaydurg Fort
On coastal highway you can go little inside around 20 kms to see this fort. This fort has sea around 3 sides and land at one side.
This is the fort where Helium was invented. Tour guides are available and I would request you to hire one of them if you ever visited this place. They will explain, what to see and how to see it. You will understood after their explanation in a much better way. There are many such points and tunnels in this fort which will surprise you after hearing the facts. You can see the canals and explosives which were used 300 years ago in war. There was a movie in Marathi was shoot here on this Fort. Movie name was Killa which means Fort in Marathi. That movie won National award. Some nice shots can be seen in the movie from this fort. You can experience it too. Especially the tunnel and to come out on One of the pillar which was built in sea.
      v. Devgad
Devgad is next to Vijaydurg and Taluka place. Here you can see a Devgad Beach, you will find here some unique sport by some private entity. It is zipline sport where they will hook you on cable and will push you to gain speed from top of mountain to land at beach.
Kunkeshwar Temple it is Lord shiva temple and you can feel the spirit. It is situated on sea bank and it has strong base built 12 meter high from the sea level to protect from waves.
Then you can see lot many temples on the route it self like Pokharbav Ganesh temple and tunnel of river.
      There is vax museum.
      Container movie theater.
      Water sports also available.
Taramumabri village where mangrove safari recently started.
Fish museum also available. Veg and non veg food separate hotels are also available. For veg go for Prapanch and for non veg go for Vasant Vijay.
      vi. Sindhudurg Fort Malavan
This fort was built by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This was one of the diamond built by Maharaj to keep an eye on threat to Swarajya. This fort was surrounded by water. An amazing short adventures voyage through a small boat will be a memorable movement for you to cherish.
      vii. Devbag Tarkarli
I don't think so you want to know anything about tarkarli from me. In last decade this place is developed as a new tourist hub in Maharashtra after Mahabaleshwar and Goa. There is tsunami island place where you will be thrown by your tourist guide to enjoy water sports. Parasailing, scuba dive, all these things are available over there.
      viii. Vengurla
This is also a small port city and known for its temple and churches in this region. Here people speak mix of malvani and konkani language. Sometime you will feel, you surfing in Goa. Due to their accent and relax behavior. New Airport is coming here in Malvan and Vengurla Belt.
I think this is more than enough.
