Back when I was in the 525 MI (Army, FT Bragg) I got into DDR and this song made we work on my singing again, then I brought it out (non---nightcore ver) and told them to only repeat back when I was jogging forward, I would turn around during the female part and try to hike up my voice for it. worked rather well and I even got many requests during unit runs.
This song was a thing long before DDR was. This is really the remake of an old southern USA (Louisiana origin) song. I know because I was taught how to line dance to the original song back when I was 9, about 17 years ago.

Mostly since line dancing requires the coordination of multiple people and, well, one trips up and it can unsync the whole line. With dancers accustomed to higher BPM songs however, they could likely pull it off.
