Thank you all so much for watching and for your comments over the last few months on the February trip videos. Depending on my work situation, I'm really hoping to do another vlogging trip in January 2021. It may be Thailand, or it may be a multi country trip somewhere completely different and not in Asia at all. We'll just have to see, but feel free to add your guesses below. It won't be Chernobyl again!!

Some small rays of hope as it looks like the European travel industry may open up in July. Not sure what restrictions will be in place for actual travel or what the state of play for bars etc would be on arrival.
Would you consider working in Greece for another season?
With your background knowledge I bet you could do an interesting series on Greek islands. (Just a thought - I'd much prefer you to be able to get back to Pattaya and report on whatever the new normal is like).

Hello, i and my family and friends stayed ibis in soi 4 for 2 nights in 2019. The price is acceptable and cozy for us. I saw you flies by EVA. I worked as employee of EVA air. Hopefully Eva air have you a nice trip.

I agree Besty ,nothing worse than being at the airport ready to go home.Infact ,i keep to myself totally and try not to speak to anyone apart from the airline staff .It's a horrible feeling .Finally someone that realises 2020 is out the question for a trip to Thailand .👍
I stayed at this hotel on my last visit to Bangkok. I'm going back next June. Nice hotel, well located but be prepared to pay $60+ a night depending on the season.
did you go back to Corfu this summer Besty? I was supposed to be in Greece this summer but the virus stuffed up my plans. Will go to Thailand in 2022 and Greece in 2023.

Thank you Besty for you advise. I shall NOT be putting my money into THAT hotel chains pockets anytime soon. The noise in room from obviously VERY cheaply built hotel puts me off MOSTLY. But you can get that anywhere i guess. Looking forward in watching your future Thai vlogs next year hopefully as I,m assuming this is your last 2020 Thai posting? Take care mate and vlog off. ;-]
Besty, how things. Have you any plans in mind about possibly getting back to Asia early next year?
I’ve been reading up about these new long terms visas for Thailand that brits can now apply for, but the criteria you have to go by is horrendous. Proof of £12,800 in savings from your bank account, a medical insurance policy with a Thai company which costs over £300, proof of a 14 day quarantine hotel, a 72hr PCR test which costs at least £120, and a doctors consent form. Plus, I’ve heard so many people say the London Thai Embassy are awful to deal with

Well done, Besty. This has been a great series. Love the hotel reviews. I know the feeling about leaving Thailand, but the last time I left everyone seemed relieved to get out of there before the big lockdown came. I hate the thought that Thailand may not be on the cards until next year.

I'm in England, working in a petrol station and finally doing fight sports events again. as soon as I doing anything remotely worth filming then I'll film it. I have a new camera so I'm quite looking forward to getting it out of its box.
I stayed at the Ibis styles hotel at Khosan road and it was very good. Much better than your hotel by the looks of it but yours looks ok. I stay at the Grand Dynasty in Bangkok and that is spot on
I'm the same ... Grand Dynasty for me as well. Good location etc. Couple of sour puss types at reception could do with attitude adjustments but yeah I agree it's not bad. Right now I can't think of any issues there. Mr Chang met me at the airport for pick up and he also drove me to Pattaya as well.. although he was a bit sleepy on one trip down there the previous year so I handed him some red star energy drinks and he was A lert all the way last November. Geeze all this talk about BKK etc certainly missing the joint.
Nice place. I've stayed at grand swiss, hopeland and grand inn hotel on sukhumvit but never in ibis styles. Love the view from the room.
Thanks for the Ibis Hotel review Besty. Unfortunately, you neglected to mention one of the greatest pluses of that hotel: THE LOCATION. It is within easy walking distance of one of my favorite adult entertainment meccas of the World. That would be Nana Plaza, of course.
Please cheer-up. “Keep a stiff upper lip”. Aren’t you Brits famous for that? The pandemic will not last forever. I clearly remember crying as my plane lifted off the tarmac at Udorn Air Base, Thailand in 1976. But, guess what? It took me 41 years but I eventually returned to Thailand and in many ways I found it more beautiful than ever!
It’s about mid £40 in peak season and that was without breakfast but definitely worth it if you like a nice pool.
Yes the walls are thin which Is fine as long as you don’t have noisy neighbours 🤷♂️
Stayed here about 20 days in total at different times jan/feb 2020 And will probably be staying here again dec if the COVID ban is lifted 🤞

You have to get your yellow receipt stamped near the airline check in gates first, before going through immigration. Then take the receipt to the counter besty mentions airside. If you don’t get it stamped first they will chase you!

BFB think important to point out to people that you have to show duty free item and paperwork for stamping on the checkin side before you can collect refund on Airside. I was caught out by that first time. I had already packed item in suitcase and checked bags in. Lost about £30 as a result. Always reminds me of young Indian guy behind me in queue for VAT Refunds. He had a load of receipts for meals purchased from INDIAN restaurants in Pattaya and was hoping for the VAT refunds. Asked me for advice if he thought worthwhile.

Good vlog BFB, love Ibis! Great value. Stayed at Ibis Airport Saigon, Jakarta, Hua Hin, Phuket & Bangkok Riverside (BEST one;) Didn't have the thin walls issue at those but good heads up on the one in nana. Also enjoyed the Swampy airport tour. Hopefully we'll see it like that again, eventually... STL

It is. I've been coming to Thailand since 2001 and only once have I been ready to leave and that was after the October 2018 washout trip. I've had some great blow out trips to places like Vegas and I've had an awesome time but usually I'm ready for the flight home, but Thailand, even after a couple of months I'm not ready to come home.

My 1st time in Bangkok was at that very hotel, it was perfect, I had no problem sleeping, I work nights in the states so noise is not a problem, the roof top bar was Poping and the morning breakfast was very good, the staff was great and the hotel was set in the center of the much needed drinking establishments, and the price was a comfort to my pocket book. As a lone male traveler, the room was clean and met my needs my friends shared their room, as for the TV, I was able to pick up SKY News and several American action movies, but I wasn't in Bangkok for that.

Can you detail review Maxxcity Condotel in Pattaya on Arunothai Road. I'M in America and wish to rent when I come there hopefully later this year or early next year.
Hi Robert. I won't be in pattaya until January 2020 at the earliest I'm afraid. I've got to be honest, Soi arunothai isn't really an area that I would consider staying in. There is a vlog on this channel which is a walk and talk along arunothai. If I was long staying or living in pattaya I would consider arunothai but for a couple of weeks I'd be staying somewhere closer to the action. I wish I was in a position to longstay!!
