I was 5 years old in 1977 living at 1182 Selby Ave.St.Paul Mn since I was 2 in 1974.I must of missed watching these in the morning.I.would usually watch the nighttime Squares.
Peter Marshall was an excellent game show host, there’s no denying that. It’s also great seeing the excellent panelists, namely Paul Lynde, Carroll Spinney as Big Bird, and Florence Henderson, all of whom appeared on Hollywood Squares for several years.
RIP to Soupy Sales, Florence Henderson, Paul Lynde, Caroll Spinney, George Gobel, Pat Harrington and announcer Kenny Williams, plus Merrill Heatter and Bob Quigley.
It’s too bad the Storybook Squares episodes weren’t expanded to 60 minutes so they would have time to clown around, and still have time to play the game. It kind of defeats the purpose of going to the trouble of having the stars in costume when Peter Marshall is frantically rushing things along.
The little girl is SO adorable! Funny because she's only a couple of years younger than I am. I think they said she's eleven here. I would've been thirteen in '77.
Panelists: 1. Soupy Sales (Tom Edison) 2. Queen of Hearts (Connie Stevens) 3. Leonardo de Vinci (Pat Harrington) 4. Cigar (Florence Henderson) 5. Martha Washington (Jo Anne Worley) 6. Henry the Ape (George Gobel) 7. Caesar and Cleopatra (Vincent Price and Elvira) 8. Frankenstein (Paul Lynde) 9. Big Bird
By the way this was the only way you could see Kenny Williams on camera.I don.t understand why Kenny was never seen on the original Squares daytime or nighttime syndication!!
I have a dream/fantasy about this episode!! It.s too bad Peter Marshall stopped hosting Squares after the beginning of the 80.s & John Davidson stopped hosting Squares at near the beginning of the 90.s-How about for teenagers & families THE SAVED BY THE BELL SQUARES!! +BigDexterMan 86 I answered on the other clip, dude! I don't currently have any clips of Brian's Elmo to share, sorry. BTW, ever heard the expression, "You get more flies with honey than vinegar."? This video gig is not my job. I'm just a fan sharing with fellow fans. I don't take orders, but I do take requests and, despite your attitude here, this has been added to my massive pile.
Mrs Brady ignore the court jester to help her down the stairs and she SLAP the shit out of Peter and how this was rated TV G for that which prove the FCC didn't give a damn

RIP Carroll Spinney
It's great to see the legendary announcer Kenny Williams on camera!

Vincent Price, Paul Lynde, Big Bird, and Elvira? This video has it all!
RIP to Soupy Sales, Florence Henderson, Paul Lynde, Caroll Spinney, George Gobel, Pat Harrington and announcer Kenny Williams, plus Merrill Heatter and Bob Quigley.
And also Peter Marshall this year that passed away at 98 from Kidney failure.
I wish there were more of this show. They should have this show rebooted.
@@briansheil9763 Are you commenting yourself?
I just deleted my comment. Sorry.

Never thought I'd see a swishy Frankenstein.
Lol! I'm leaving this here because I'm from the era ('70s) when "swishy" wasn't considered a slur. Hopefully, you're the same.
look at the bottom right corner, he took a spill on stage right off the camera shot. Yeah, he was drunk.
Ah yes, Big Bird calling him "Mr Marshmallow" :)
LOLZ
Marshall!!!!
Well, Paul Lynde was more Fred Gwynne than Karloff!
My first car was a Chevette😒 I bragged of owning a "vette"😂
Captain Kangaroo called. He wants his suit jacket back
Paul Lynde as Frankenstein's Monster reminds me of Jack Nicholson's Joker.
More like Pennywise the Clown aka It
This should have been done in a library.
Thank you, Tiny Dancer, for the upload. I'm really enjoying it. And . . . Happy New Year!
You're welcome! I adore classic game shows and finding this was a delight, had to share. Hope you and yours have a very Happy New Year, too!

Me, too, Tim! 1964 babies rule, woohoo! ;-)
Surreal.
Now, we say goodbye, to Peter Marshall. Lived to 98.

big Bird is good
I think I saw this on GSN years ago on Halloween night
Yup, GSN showed it on Halloween back around 2004 I think, that’s where I saw this.
R.I.P. Peter Marshall, AKA Mr. Marshmallow
March 30, 1926 - August 15, 2024
Also Beaver face!
I can't believe they had Vincent Price!
By the way this was the only way you could see Kenny Williams on camera.I don.t understand why Kenny was never seen on the original Squares daytime or nighttime syndication!!
+Tiny Dancer, thanks for posting this. One question; do you think that this could be revived today (the Storybook Squares part)?
Soupy "Tom Edison" Sales
Mr. Marshmallow sounds like a homage to Mr. Looper.
It was.
@@michaelglickman1300 Cool
@@michaelglickman1300 Sorry to break up the conversation, but their names are Marshal and Hooper.
@@EddieKyteABCDEFG12345678910 We already knew that, Captain Obvious.
Spinney used that name mix-up gag for other celebrities. He kept calling Dick Cavett, "Mr. Cabbage" and "Mr. Caveat".
Awesome! Do you have anymore episodes featuring Florence Henderson?
Watch her on "What's My Line!" Halarious!!! She was NOT sure if "The Brady Bunch" would work out!
@@jeraleewood5969 I saw that. It was great
Captain kangaroo called. He wants his jacket back.
Hahaha!!Paul Lynde Hilarious!! Cool uploads, my favorite show.
King Henry the 8th theme sounded like Edward R. Murrow's 1950's theme.
Thumbs up if you're here for Big Bird.
Big Bird appears courtesy of Kermit Love, Carroll Spinney, and the Children's Television Workshop.

But truthfully what the hell is a LAVA LITE?! the only LAVA I remember was the old LAVA hand soap to wash your hands.A LAVA LITE-WTF?!
Is this the only ep of HS from the daytime show to air on GSN?
Not sure about that. I don't have any info on where this came from originally and don't see any GSN tags.
Is that Kenny Williams introducing Peter Marshall?
Yes, it is.
actually, this was a special week. (this was not a spin-off)
Who does Peter Marshall think he is, Captain Kangaroo?

A fun idea, but they wasted too much time introducing everyone!
that was Peter's issue with it, by the time they got to the game, there wasn't a lot of time for it
