Corgi Toy Vintage Collection pt1 Corgi Diecast Cars & Trucks
Corgi Toys (trademark) is the name of a range of die-cast toy vehicles produced by Mettoy Playcraft Ltd. in the United Kingdom.
The Mettoy (Metal Toy) company was founded in 1933 by German émigré Philip Ullmann in Northampton, England, where he was later joined by South African-born German Arthur Katz, who had previously worked for Ullmann at his toy company Tipp and Co of Nuremberg. They decided to market a range of toy vehicles as competition to Meccano's Dinky Toys model vehicles, which had dominated the British market for many years. Corgi Toys were introduced in the UK in July 1956 and were manufactured in Swansea, Wales, for 27 years before the company went into liquidation. A management buy-out re-formed the company as Corgi Toys Limited in March 1984. In 1989, the management sold the Corgi brand to Mattel and the factory was retained under the name of Microlink Industries Ltd. In 1995, Corgi regained its independence as a new company, Corgi Classics Limited, and moved to new premises in Leicester.
The range was exported worldwide and sold in large numbers. Some of the best known and most popular models were of cars made famous in film and television such as the Batmobile, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 - which remains the largest selling toy car ever produced. Although the largest single vehicle type featured in the Corgi Toys range were models of cars from manufacturers around the world, this article sub-divides vehicles into genres, wherever possible, to allow a more detailed look at the variety of models produced by the company.

Very cool!
Great car
Hi Robert, yes, my shopping trip to Buchholz was nice an positive . Got some Hotwheels but the weather was bad. Had a lot of rain on that trip.
The Porsche Carrera 6 is a really nice race car. And I think at that time these race cars went on their own wheels their way to the race at Le Mans. In one history book I found a picture where they stood on the track with official number plates from Stuttgart.
I think corgi toys made the finest and detailed models at that time and for children like me at that time these little cars / toys were expensive. But I had one, I remember. At the age of fifteen all my little cars were packed together and send by my parents to my relationship to the " GDR" ( East Germany) because they were younger and had not such toys there. Not the best idea from my parents. Later Corgi Toys stopped producing these fine cars.
Greetings and best wishes from Helmut!
Hi, yes rain here too .. muddy dog print time !
Sorry to hear you lost your toys - but what a fine gesture - they would have given great joy - and maybe still do.
I think Corgi were the best - they seemed more refined than Dinky of that age. All went wrong around 1990's .. quality and detail went down - no more jewel lights.
Pleased you found some Hot Wheels - which ones ??
@@DiecastMovies , I got only 10 new Hotwheels, a Lamborghini Centenario Roadster, 32 Ford, two Chevys, a Ford Ranchero,a 55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser, Mercedes A Class, a Honda Civic.
But yesterday my Brother in Law visited me and gave me his complete Hotwheels fleet, he collected from 2012 to 2015. He needs them anymore because of other hobbies. I was astonished and thankful. About 250 cars, mostly american streetcruizers and a lot of different Mustangs. Unfortunately not in original package. But all in mint condition.
Greetings and best wishes from Helmut!
great .. that makes up for your childhood loss,
must be quite exciting going through them all.
Have a great week ... stay cool - you got 40 degree heat heading your way again
@@DiecastMovies Hi Robert, coming week will be interesting with the weather conditions, but had high temperatures earlier this year and I'm bulletproof anyway.
Ice cold Coca Cola and a garden shower is already installed 🚿.
And of course waiting for your next video to watch on my big tv screen📺 in my down cooled living room by fan.
Hope you will have a nice time by putting the scenes together!
