luna is like another version of lit, lit is cheerful traditional but luna is like soft, nostalgic traditional! i like that the song did not have hard hitting beats but use soft drums to emphasise parts like dance break, but stayed true to its origins and not go techno all of a sudden, playing more on the melody and story!! also xion's lines??? omg and the parts switch up too, damn everyone's parts suit them alot, and rawoong dance tgt center? we love! oneus nvr disappoints

The fact that this entire song contains so many traditional elements is so great: traditional imagery in the MV, hanboks, no English in the lyrics and the usage of traditional speech. Even the dance contains some elements of traditional Korean dance. I love when modern Eastern artists tap into their history. Magnificent. Not a ToMoon but I love this!!

Even as a non-korean, I felt proud watching this MV. It’s so rare for kpop groups to showcase their historical roots, let alone incorporate it in their songs. The feeling I had listening to the song brings so much emotions-it made me appreciate the diversity of cultures and the beauty of music. This particular song transcends beyond what is shown in the mainstream industry. Great job, Oneus, for showing to the world, how fascinating Kpop is.

Oh my goodness, I didn't even realize the English thing until this comment! I think that's part of why I like it so much. Sometimes I feel like they force themselves to conform to some of the kpop standards, but they really shine the most when they produce music that is true to themselves.

ONEUS has a king concept according to fans because Youngjo (Ravn) is a former name of a king in the joseon dynasty. While Geonhak was also a name from the joseon dynasty. (i read this somewhere in twitter but i don't remember much)

She fell in love with a young boy who weeds for her every day. Later, when the Jade Emperor learned about this, he was furious and wanted to separate the pair.
The Jade Emperor relegated the Flower God to a flower that could only bloom for one single moment in her life and prevented her from seeing her lover again.
He also sent the young boy to a faraway mountain to become a monk, so that he would forget his loved one.
However, the Flower God never forgot the young boy.
She knew that he would go up the mountain to collect spring dew every year in the late spring and make tea for the Buddha, so she chose to bloom in the late spring, hoping to see her lover for one more time.
Sorrowfully, when spring comes, the graceful flowers bloomed but the young boy didn't recognize her.
She was short-lived, only for him.
This was the story of a girl that wanted to see the lover that had already forgotten her for one more time.
The flower language of 月下美人 conveyed the means of yearning for love and dedicating a lifetime for it.

Fact: Luna wasn't supposed to be a title track but a part of their Oneus Theatre project instead. The song was too good so Oneus convinced RBW to make it their title song. The director was concerned at first because boy group songs are so powerful right now while Luna is sentimental. Glad they made the right choice ^_^
Keep swimming Tomoons! Let's get another win for Luna and continue to admire its beauty
THIS! This may sound a little harsh, but with their comebacks since RTK, I've felt that RBW had been trying to fit Oneus into whatever the "popular" boy group image is at the time of their comebacks (it felt like this especially with 'No Diggity' especially with some of the sentiments the individual members have expressed). This is not to say that they weren't good comebacks! They do amazing regardless, but I feel that Oneus is the most true to themselves when they go against the flow and do what _they_ want. It's when I think they really stand out and shine the brightest. It's one of the things that is attractive about the group image imo, and 'Luna' is a perfect example of how well it works in their favor. I hope this serves to get RBW to open their eyes and give Oneus more credit in knowing what they want to do.
(Sorry if this is a bit rambly or incoherent. I am a bit out of it at the moment lmaooo.)

But yeah, I get what you mean since the members were hesitant about No Diggity initially.
@@maikee734 Oh, yes, don't get me wrong, it _was_ a good start and I think it definitely gave them a huge step up in popularity! It also skyrocketed their sales. It may even have been necessary for them to do that in order to attain their current level of success with Luna. (Though I do also think 'Luna' could have been successful anyway, given how successful 'Lit' was even without their current popularity.)
It's just, I remember 'No Diggity' was split, and specifically the Seoho crop-top thing. He said explicitly several times how uncomfortable he was about it, but that RBW "gave him no choice". That's why I said it felt they were kind of getting forced into concepts they weren't entirely happy with, whereas with Luna, as you mentioned, it's a case where _they_ fought for it. They recognized the potential and it got them their first win!

Honestly same that's one of my favorite parts about them. It makes them seem more human and it's comforting for someone who is a shy introvert. They might not be as choatic or outgoing as other groups but they don't need to be, they can just be themselves and that's enough^^

The song structure is itself appealingly unique in it's timing and breaks, and its stunningly sung by ONEUS... Soooo great!
Especially love the elements that are so clearly related to culture - it elevates the song as well as the listener 👏👏👏
Reminds me of the variety in my own people's music - depending on age (Old Skool vs Millenial), culture (street vs refined), locales (mountains - "jibaro" vs cities - "cosmopolitan"), etc..
Even ethnicity plays a HUGE part, since Latinos are not largely homogeneous but are predominantly "mixtures" or "blends" and geographically come from widely divergent areas and POVs - ALL of which shows up in our music!
So BONUS POINTS for ONEUS incorporating those wonderful elements into a gorgeously crafted aural gem...

I fell down a Oneus rabbit hole a few days ago, and now I must say that this song has officially solidified me as a ToMoon. These guys are so talented and their music is incredible and makes me feel some kind of way, I absolutely love it. I'm so happy that I found these guys ❤
fun fact : Luna was supposed to be their 3rd theatre project (song/video based on movie, not an actual cb), not the tt. but bcs it's too good, oneus asked the CEO to make it as the title track. I'm relieved that the CEO was willing to listen to oneus's opinion/wishes.
Oneus promised tomoon that if they won on music show they would release the theatre ver (the first ver before being revised many times).
And fortunatelly oneus got their 1st win since debut with Luna 🌙 and finally released the theatre ver as they promised.

The Korean name of the song '월하미인' is the word for an orchid cactus known as 'princess of the night' or 'queen of the night'. It blooms a single flower at night. I hope this adds some more context to the song, it's so beautiful poetic and delicate yet brave.

So we all confirm Luna has THE BEST chorus in kpop so far. Not a question. It's nothing similar to what I've heard before in a kpop song. It's nostalgic, magical, kinda makes you want to go back in time and immerses you to a whole different world. I don't know how they did it but congratulations to the team behind this masterpiece and the boys. I can't stop listening to it. I really hope it can convince the casual listeners out there that this group is pure gold and this song deserves a win. Seoho was right when he said it's really beautiful TuT.

I especially love the incorporation of traditional Korean visuals in the MV and instruments in the song, the execution is beautiful as always. A win for Oneus is long overdue

I'd like to think that leedo with the white hair represents the moon, ravn with red hair represents the blood moon and the rest represent the 'black clouds cover the moonlight'. During the dance break, ravn and leedo always moving in parallel as the moon and blood moon. It makes the dance break way more impressive.
Also, during hwanwoong part in 2:46, leedo has limited movement while hwanwoong moving around leedo like the 'black clouds cover the moonlight'. Its just a theory, but it sounds really cool

Really don't understand why they are soo underrated, they are from a kind of big company, they produce and write ( leedo and ravn ) their own songs, they are amazing rappers, dancers and vocalists, they really deserve so much more from the public.

They still got a loyal fandom supporting them through and through plus their popularity has been increasing lately so I think things aren't too bad lately.
Agreed. They are extremely talented. I find I keep coming back to their music again and again. The visuals are simple and beautiful in his video and pair perfectly with the song. I love it.
I think it's down to the competition and how many groups there are from "kind of big" companies. No one is ensured attention or success unless you're from the big 4, usually groups get some attention from casual listeners in their debut year and then fade out to relying solely on their fanbase. RBW really isn't that "big" even though mamamoo is one of the top 3rd gen ggs coz most of mamamoo's fandom is casual listeners/gp (especially back in 2019 when oneus debuted) who aren't even guaranteed to support mamamoo's every release, let alone their juniors.
I wish they would get more attention, their discography is so amazing. Their fandom is growing with every release though and Blood Moon was a huge success for them so I think they don't have anything to be worried about.
True, their talent and versatility is unmatched. However they need better international promotions. They did it dirty with Mamamoo by not giving them international promotions or world tours. Hope they don't do that with Oneus. Their talent can't go wasted :(
