The shining’s original Timeline starts from when the Overlook is built in 1908, then Jacks reincarnation is pictured in 1921, then the Grady’s gets massacred by Delbert, and then The main part ends up at around 1980.
The hotel has been open to the public since 1994, daring guests can explore the haunted building and take a ride on the haunted elevator with a mind of its own.
oh god i remember seeing this part when i was really little and my dad and i left it on cause we had no idea what it was, but as soon as the people got electrocuted i screamed bloody murder
This movie (and the ride) freaked me out when I was 6. Now I love both and wish we never got rid of the CD (and that I actually kept my eyes open when the rid was still at Disneyland)
@MagicBoyAdrian dont want to be a debby downer but the concept from the ride was taken from the tv series the twilight zone. the twilight zone episodes came first, then the ride, then the movie. But to be fair to you the ride was before the movie so really u are right, i just wanted people to see where the actual concept came from.
Omg is was literally saying for 2 years that sing swing sing with a swing reminded me of tower of terror but I don’t know why now I realize why I’ve literally watched this movie once
J'adore ce film que je regarde souvent et que j'adore cette attraction que j'ai fait plus de 300 fois et que le 1er janvier 2025 jour de mon anniversaire 85 ans je l'ai fait 2 fois de suite 😅 ❤❤❤
You're right, it's NOT Disney. BUT, the Disney company signed a contract that allowed them to use the trademarked Twilight Zone property for their own ride, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (which this film is based off of) Unfortunately, it's time to say bye bye to this old decrepit Hollywood Hotel as the elevator doors close for their final drop. :(
Twilight Zone was used to frame the story for the original attraction back when the park it was at was openly licensing non-Disney IPs (e.g. films appearing in the Great Movie Ride, the original version of Star Tours developed long before Disney owned the rights to the franchise, the Indiana Jones stunt show). The story to Tower of Terror was an entirely original story, but meant to emulate something you would see from the Twilight Zone series. As for the ride closing, only the version in California is getting revamped (the ride system itself will be unchanged, but the theming and overall experience will be completely different). The version in Florida (which the film uses for exterior shots) will remain as is for the foreseeable future.
AdrenalineAddict610 wait, that S.I.R profile pic...(if i'm right about that) I think you're the same person I always see on Disney related videos! Lol. Either that, or more people have that profile pic than I thought.
Somebody said in previous comments that this use to be an actual hotel. is that true? and did somebody actually die in the hotel? is there a story online about this all? if somebody could answer this for me that would be awesome! Love the movie btw:0)
It's good you've gotten to go on it. Unfortunately, Disney has decided to close the doors of the Hollywood Hotel soon to remodel it to fit a Guardians of the Galaxy theme :(
so in 1939 this used to be a regular hotel and later on lightning hit the hotel then it became a haunted hotel then it became a ride right? this hotel was not in hollywood it was in anaheim because california adventure is in anaheim and the hollywood tower hotel was in california adventure i wonder where the other rides were.
Could you please plaese upload the whole video???? Please I want so hard to see it, but it is no where.... It would be awesome if you could upload it.... PLEASE!!!!!
Some best friend Sally Shine had Abagale's plot to kill a whole damn elevator of people including her best friend Sally Shine & not knowing that the big party at the tip top club was for her since it was her B-day geez that was a no brainer 10/31/39 she should of thought about that first
no its complicated but i understand ill make it simple disney wanted this ride but to tie it in with the mgm theme of hollywood they made it relate to the famous tv show the twilight zone and because of the success of the ride they made a movie out of it like what they did with pirates of the carrabean. Did u get all of tht? any questions?
Kristen Dunst played the modern day girl but the little girl in the beginning was Lindsay Ridgeway... the same girl who played Morgan in Boy Meets World
the hollywood tower hotel dvd i have an annual pass to disneyland ca i got it in 2008 and it is expiring may 2009 but my dad promised on may he`ll renew the disneyland annual pass so we can have it for another year are you able to buy the dvd at disneyland?
I know that Abigail cast the spell on the elevator after that, she blame it on Amiline p. because she look like a real witch, but nope it was Abigail because she said "no! I made her a legend" because this video shows a little about the Hollywood tower hotel but there's a video fully about the Hollywood tower hotel and it's a very long movie, watch it.
so sad that those people died. i wish i could visit thia haunted hotel and see whats really going down. EXCELLENT movie! I wish they would air it again sometime soon!
It's like The Shining, but you know, the family friendly version.
Sally Shine I see what you did there...
The shining’s original Timeline starts from when the Overlook is built in 1908, then Jacks reincarnation is pictured in 1921, then the Grady’s gets massacred by Delbert, and then The main part ends up at around 1980.
@@sallyshine3036 here's Emeline partridge
Heeeeeeere’s Dewey
Can’t forget about Dewey Todd
Boys were such gentlemen, and EVERYONE knew how to dance well...I would love to go back in time to 1939!!
The hotel has been open to the public since 1994, daring guests can explore the haunted building and take a ride on the haunted elevator with a mind of its own.
When you live near Orlando so you get to keep the ride
Lucky!!
Trop cool l attraction à Disney Paris
On est d'accord
That's what they get for not having a lightning rod.
Brownie Alexia XD True
True lol
It wouldn't have stopped it from hitting the elevator, anyway. The lightning was sent by a spell.
If I were a bellhop there, I would cast a revenge spell on whoever cast that spell on the tower! Hey! ToT bellhops can cast spells, too ya know!
And that’s what they get for hexing the hotel!
like si tu parle français

1 lesson: DO NOT GO INTO A ELEVATOR ON A STORM 😑😑

I look forward to watching this and Hocus Pocus every year near Halloween on Disney!!
I am devastated that mission breakout took tot away, i was so exited to go on it!
oh god i remember seeing this part when i was really little and my dad and i left it on cause we had no idea what it was, but as soon as the people got electrocuted i screamed bloody murder
I always have liked this movie after first seeing it as a teenager when it was released on videcassete. I like Los Angeles in the past.
merci beaucoup !!! faut dire que les video sur ce film sont pas très nombreuses. Alors merci
His real name is John Paul Salapatekm aka John Franklin. He also works as a high school teacher nowadays. We met this guy at a TOT fan forum recently.
This movie (and the ride) freaked me out when I was 6. Now I love both and wish we never got rid of the CD (and that I actually kept my eyes open when the rid was still at Disneyland)
I went on the ride and I nearly craped my pants
i remember the good old days and this movie! :D i loved this when i was a little kid!
@MagicBoyAdrian
dont want to be a debby downer but the concept from the ride was taken from the tv series the twilight zone. the twilight zone episodes came first, then the ride, then the movie.

This makes me wish Disney would make a copy of the Orlando tower, but make it a real hotel where you can stay at
Replicate the 1930s style hotel, but make it in good condition not the abandoned look in the actual ride.
Loved this movie a lot a long time ago and was soon called "The Kelen tower" in my whole family 🤣
Omg is was literally saying for 2 years that sing swing sing with a swing reminded me of tower of terror but I don’t know why now I realize why I’ve literally watched this movie once
Awesome song!!, love 40's and 50's
si l'hôtel de Disneyland Paris
Terror Tower was my favorite Disney movie
I like how detailed it is thay acually have the hollywood land sign in the background
I got this movie on DVD when I went there. Still have yet to see it though.
@MrTommychong oh that's cool. I thought they based the ride on the movie :) Thanks for clearing it up for me :)
I have been searching for that music's name for... like... forever!
They movie was created after the ride was put up. This was shot at MGM studios in Walt Disney World, Florida.
J'adore ce film que je regarde souvent et que j'adore cette attraction que j'ai fait plus de 300 fois et que le 1er janvier 2025 jour de mon anniversaire 85 ans je l'ai fait 2 fois de suite 😅 ❤❤❤
i love that song! its probably the only really old kinda song i love =P
@SierraAndBay8D - They were both played by the same actress, well, sort of. Lindsay Ridgeway only voiced Darla during the singing parts.
It's the same music in " The Artist" with Jean Dujardin !!!! Amazing !!!
@Anniebabylovesmj Actually no, the ride was built years after this movie was filmed
I don't get this twilight zone stuff. That's not Disney
it's not disney the episode is in Hollywood that for its called HOLLY WOOD tower of terror

AdrenalineAddict610 Actually, they have plans on changing the one in WDW too, if this goes well.
AdrenalineAddict610 wait, that S.I.R profile pic...(if i'm right about that) I think you're the same person I always see on Disney related videos! Lol. Either that, or more people have that profile pic than I thought.
I played in Disneyland the Hollywood tower game it was so fun that I played it like 5 times
c'est surtout la musique qu'on retrouve dans Swing Kids à la base XD
Somebody said in previous comments that this use to be an actual hotel. is that true? and did somebody actually die in the hotel? is there a story online about this all?
if somebody could answer this for me that would be awesome!
Love the movie btw:0)
thanks for telling me what really happened:)
You Sir, are a lifesaver. GIVE THIS MAN A COOKIE!!
This was how the Tower of Terror at Disney Hollywood was formed.
I Love This Movie I Being Watch It Every Helloween For 11 Years I am 18
Now you’re probably 25 or 26 lol
lol in the beginning of the episode the band is playing "it dont mean a thing " my all county chorus sang it . i didnt even know it was that old !!!!
Yeah it's been around since the 1920's
The song is actually called, "Sing, Sing, Sing" and it is by Benny Goodman.
Before i ever saw the movie i saw this scene... Idk where i just remember it from somewhere.

This ride was amazing so was the movie!
Ce film est mon film préféré et j'adore Dewey et Hollywood tower hôtel
U love Dewey Todd? Me too!

It's good you've gotten to go on it. Unfortunately, Disney has decided to close the doors of the Hollywood Hotel soon to remodel it to fit a Guardians of the Galaxy theme :(
Sing SIng Sing is easily my favorite song! It was back when music was actually good...
3:24 You can see Sally scream when the lightning hit her
so in 1939 this used to be a regular hotel and later on lightning hit the hotel then it became a haunted hotel then it became a ride right? this hotel was not in hollywood it was in anaheim because california adventure is in anaheim and the hollywood tower hotel was in california adventure i wonder where the other rides were.

it was fun to ride the Hollywood Tower hotel
Some best friend Sally Shine had Abagale's plot to kill a whole damn elevator of people including her best friend Sally Shine & not knowing that the big party at the tip top club was for her since it was her B-day geez that was a no brainer 10/31/39 she should of thought about that first
Abigail
Plot twist! Abigail didn’t cast the spell on the elevator, Dewey actually did
no its complicated but i understand ill make it simple
disney wanted this ride but to tie it in with the mgm theme of hollywood they made it relate to the famous tv show the twilight zone and because of the success of the ride they made a movie out of it like what they did with pirates of the carrabean. Did u get all of tht? any questions?
I think the scariest part scares me the most when the elevator gets striked by lighting and its dangerous to get striked by lighting
Not if you’re a bellhop
@MrTommychong did they do the movie based on the ride or the other way around?
For anyone who's wondering, this movie was based on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, so in a sense, was also based off of the Twilight Zone.
2:18 I Laughed When the 2 Men bumped together
Is it me, or do I keep on thinking of Gilbert London (at 2:06) as Andrew Ryan from Bioshock?
@Grigori1000 The one at the beggining is Sing Sing Sing i dance to it in dance class.
@khyeSpookey In 1939 it was HollywoodLand but after storm some yeas after, the "land" falls and it becomes "Hollywood"
Benny goodman - sing sing sing
I LOVE this movie. It is so awesome.
I love this video :D
@KewlBrianna Pffff this was also based on the lost Twilight Zone episode but this movie came YEARS before blueprints of the ride even existed
Kristen Dunst played the modern day girl but the little girl in the beginning was Lindsay Ridgeway... the same girl who played Morgan in Boy Meets World
Ride scared the shiz outta me I didn't know it was gonna drop I gripped the seat so hard my hands hurt for three hours after
I rode the tower of terror and it shows that clip before you get on

The movie was So Awesome!!
the hollywood tower hotel dvd i have an annual pass to disneyland ca i got it in 2008 and it is expiring may 2009 but my dad promised on may he`ll renew the disneyland annual pass so we can have it for another year are you able to buy the dvd at disneyland?

I know that Abigail cast the spell on the elevator after that, she blame it on Amiline p. because she look like a real witch, but nope it was Abigail because she said "no! I made her a legend" because this video shows a little about the Hollywood tower hotel but there's a video fully about the Hollywood tower hotel and it's a very long movie, watch it.
Hey! I can cast spells too! Us bellhops can cast spells! And if I were a bellhop, I would cast a revenge spell on Abbigail!
Just to teach her not to mess with the bellhops
Did you know that us bellhops can cast spells, too?
Plus, what if Abigail was lying about casting the spell, and Dewey actually did it?
what what is the movie called tell me now i want to see it i bet it will be amazing tell me
