Hi, I've not found the smaller wheel to be disadvantageous. If anything, it's an advantage as it is less bulky and allows for a smaller turning circle. Over things like cattle grids/gutters no issue. It will always be harder to push up a ramp with something that extends your wheelbase whether that's a freewheel or a front wheel, but it is not significant enough to trouble me.
@Queenmania2007 thanks. I use a free wheel now and it is great. It's a bit of a pain just off centre. I have a front wheel on order with my new chair. So I feel a bit better after your review. Thanks again
What you don't mention, and what I cannot tell in your video is the unit is attached, but you appear to not have any footrest attached. I ordered one and provided specific information that I had a TiLite AERO Z wheelchair and gave all tube dimensions. In order to attach this unit I need to either remove completely my footrest, or modify the footrest (hacksaw) in order to allow the lower "J" hook to clamp onto the tube. I'm thinking if I cut out my footrest material that will weaken the footrest itself, and I really don't like the idea of going with my feet just resting on a 3/4" tube as would be the case if I removed my footrest. I have a support request into the units seller......I'm not holding my breath here. It may very well go back.
Hi Quick question (I've never had any extra with this type of attachment so stupid question incoming) Can you still hop up/down kerbs with this attached? Or do you need to remove 1st.... As you COG would be very different? Thx
Hi Lee, no worries - yes you can still hop up/down curbs and it's arguably even easier with it attached. COG very marginally affected (slightly tipper) but tbh there's not a lot in it.
Hey, sorry I am a bit late to this. I am currently looking into an rgk frontwheel but I have a Quickie Argon 2. How do I measure it to see if it would fit?
Apologies for late reply - I'm not sure, I would contact RGK to ask them directly. Best to phone if you're in the UK. It's pretty adjustable so don't think you'd need to measure anything.
Hello friend, how are you? I wanted to know if you have any brand of wheelchairs that are not so expensive, or if you have an old one, how much would you sell it to me?
Hi there. Probably the best way to get a cheap wheelchair is second hand. There are a variety of groups on Facebook where people regularly sell chairs they don’t need/use any more so it’s worth checking them out. I’m afraid I don’t have a chair for sale at the moment.
Thanks Daniel, great review , is the smaller diameter wheel compared to the freewheel any disadvantage? Through steep pram ramps on gutters etc
Ps I'm a quad and don't do wheelstands through well anything lol
