Honkai not only have a skip button they also have a history button, to read back something you missed or skipped by mistake while doing a quest, I really hope they add them on Genshin aswell, everyone would win saur true mr shoe
Adding a skip button wouldn't kill the game, it would enhance it greatly cause I like the lore in Genshin but seriously sometimes I don't need to know EVERY SINGLE THING about people I don't care for mainly NPCs.

Honkai has a skip button AND it's possible to turn off certain abilities of the characters (ones that may interfere with rotations, at least). Which is probably the closest thing to togglable constellations. Clearly mihoyo has heard of similar concepts before. It'd be neat if genshin had this too.

I agree we need a skip button. what pisses me off most is that in the beginning of the game we were able to click through the dialogue super fast but then I think 1.4. they made it so there is a skip delay so it takes way longer since then to get through dialogue.

He even once used his Elemental burst - Wind's Grand Ode: Fires off an arrow made of countless coalesced winds, creating a huge Stormeye that sucks in opponents and deals continuous Anemo DMG. Elemental Absorption. If the Stormeye comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it will deal additional Elemental DMG of that type. Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use. To suck all the enemies off. He sucked them off real hard after infusing them with hydro and making them wet. I didn't know he was that good at sucking. Thanks akash0T for saving my life 🙏🙏

as a honkai player, honkai indeed has a skip button. it also has a story button so if you miss anything you can reread it there, all of these features come in handy especially considering how lengthy honkai's story is similarly to genshin, and how long the cutscenes are. i dont understand why people have such a problem in the genshin fandom with the skip button being added.....adding significant features to a game you like that doesnt ruin anything, but hey its genshin twitter afterall

I spent 5bucks each to hire someone to finish second summer event (Klee's island with Fischl and Guitar girl) and non-event enkanomiya for me. If the game had a skip button, I would do all this myself. Without skip button, I slowly develop arthritis on my hands. Why I skip? I like watching my youtube/twitch streamer play the content so I can react and engage in conversation as the events happen.
I actually really like Moga.. but I really liked the story for the event story they were mentioning in the tweet so I was kind of sad how they didn't like it but it really made me happy and made my day and was a light in the dark I loved it so much Mondstadt supremacy their characters hit hardest the most and I love it and I probably would be crying so much more if it didn't exist and. all the little extra easter egg hunts of secret dialogue of the actual characters and just yeah im disappointed like I love them so much Razor was my first main and Kaeya is my main and just sso much interactions it really helped me have at least one happy GENUINELY happy moment in my everchanging lonely new school trsut everything issues life.
Some reasons I could think of Hoyoverse not adding a skip button to genshin is because of how the game really revolves around the story. Even certain character kits have small connections to that charater's story, open world, events, etc. Also the story of genshin's world is so intricate, maybe Hoyo is doing it so people can notice the work put into it and they believe it's something that should really be recognized. It could also be because of game immersion reasons, since genshin is a really magical, adventurous game. And yes, honkai has a skip button
But some people don't care. They won't care either way, they will be just more frustrated. I'm not one of them, but i understand their perspective. Dead ass I just gave up on genshin the other day not solely because of the lack of a skip button but it was like the tipping point for me. I like to pick and choose what I wanna read. There's like so much fluff mixed in with actually important stuff to the point that even when you spam skip you still have to stare at the screen for like a minute plus, unironically. They even delay you skipping before certain animations play out. Hell maybe I wanna read the main story or character stories first but like say I wanna do the event but I don't wanna read a bunch of convos before I can like actually play the event. Like I get off work maybe I wanna spend a lil time doing the event but I gotta sit through a bunch of dialogue before I can start. Sounds like the game played you and not the other way around. Game is completely fine if you just like the story and ignore exploration and events. All of this only fuels the gacha system, which is completely irrelevant if you only play for the story🙂

Some cutscenes in honkai are unskippable (especially the quests in later chapters) that's why I think the reason why Hoyoverse doesn't do it is because they lack the technology to do it. Surely is not copium
Literally and also if you do skip but then you wanna go back you can go into the archive section and read it yourself. There are a few stories I enjoyed reading but when it comes to stuff like certain archon stuff, commissions, etc. I’ll skip it man lol.

the only thing i could personally think of regarding the skip button that could be considered 'negative', is that if i were to press it, i would be completely oblivious to what i skipped (i know, that's the whole point) what i mean is that sometimes i also spam F, my eyes also take in the words that i see pop up before it gets skip. Sometimes some characters will drop a juicy bomb, which makes me go GOD DAMN and suddenly i'm not skipping anymore, actually invested if a skip button would be added, this would be eradicated. Of course, ignorance is bliss - since i wouldn't know, it wouldn't hurt me. Well hoyo wants you to get attached to new characters, because recently I feel like new characters have really big issues that can be fixed only with constilations, thats how hoyo is trying to make money, hovewer there are many older characters like Ganyu, benett, eula, ayaka, xingqiu and so on who dont have this kind of problem and hoyo knows that, if they added skip button, that would mean players wont get attached to new characters and since many players have older characters, many of them will just say: "Well if I can complete 36 star spyral abyss with these older characters and I dont need constilations for them, why would I pull for new character that Im not attached to whatsoever and I need constilations for to make them feel complete" This is what is happening to me personally, I recently pulled for Nilou and she feels incomplete to me, I dont have her signature weapon, nor constilations as Im F2P, but I also dont have signatures or constilations for my ganyu and ayaka and Eula and they feel complete and have no issues whatsoever, I can complete anything in game with no issues whatsoever using them, the only reason I pulled for nilou is because I like her and like her story, but if skip button was a thing, I would have no reason to care about Nilou in first place
All the better gacha games like hi3 or pgr have a skip button If a person wants to read, they will read if they don't they won't and the lack of a skip button wouldn't stop them

only thing i can think of why hoyoverse wouldnt want to add a skip button is that maybe they're afraid that more people will be enticed to skip, and they're afraid without knowing and following the story that players will leave the game because the combat gets repetitive. Whether this would be true idk. but for example, speaking for myself, i spam space and mouse clicks to skip most dialogue but since it takes so long to skip, i end up reading some of the words or sentences which makes me get the gist of what the dialogue was about. And sometimes when im bored of skipping I read a few lines here and there. This makes me keep up at least somewhat with what's going on. For me the problem actually isn't having a story, but it's the fact that there is so much fluff and slow diaolgue.. if the dialogue was faster and to the point, and perhaps more cinematic cutscenes, I wouldn't mind watching it. Also, more interesting stories would help
NPC quests shouldnt be a super long dialogue. Like other jrpg games didn’t make me hate it because they told me one quick quest and go there and do whatever needed and it’s done. Genshin wants you to run here and there and here for quest end heres 10 primo gems. Honkai let’s you skip but doesn’t give you a lot rewards but it builds up to it. Genshin I don’t like every single characters story enough to sit to their dialogue maybe some I do like maybe. People who have school or work don’t want to spend their free time on hearing boring NPC questlines for hours just for some rewards.

Sounds like the game played you and not the other way around. Game is completely fine if you just like the story and ignore exploration and events. All of this only fuels the gacha system, which is completely irrelevant if you only play for the story🙂

bruh the character story quests on youtube are over an hour ain't nobody got time for that just gimme my 60 primos and 4 shit books that barely level up my characters and stop talking man. i can't wait for a skip button i might actually attempt hang out quests now just for some extra primos.

Some cutscenes in honkai are unskippable (especially the quests in later chapters) that's why I think the reason why Hoyoverse doesn't do it is because they lack the technology to do it. Surely is not copium

the only thing i could personally think of regarding the skip button that could be considered 'negative', is that if i were to press it, i would be completely oblivious to what i skipped (i know, that's the whole point)
what i mean is that sometimes i also spam F, my eyes also take in the words that i see pop up before it gets skip. Sometimes some characters will drop a juicy bomb, which makes me go GOD DAMN and suddenly i'm not skipping anymore, actually invested
if a skip button would be added, this would be eradicated.

Well hoyo wants you to get attached to new characters, because recently I feel like new characters have really big issues that can be fixed only with constilations, thats how hoyo is trying to make money, hovewer there are many older characters like Ganyu, benett, eula, ayaka, xingqiu and so on who dont have this kind of problem and hoyo knows that, if they added skip button, that would mean players wont get attached to new characters and since many players have older characters, many of them will just say: "Well if I can complete 36 star spyral abyss with these older characters and I dont need constilations for them, why would I pull for new character that Im not attached to whatsoever and I need constilations for to make them feel complete"
This is what is happening to me personally, I recently pulled for Nilou and she feels incomplete to me, I dont have her signature weapon, nor constilations as Im F2P, but I also dont have signatures or constilations for my ganyu and ayaka and Eula and they feel complete and have no issues whatsoever, I can complete anything in game with no issues whatsoever using them, the only reason I pulled for nilou is because I like her and like her story, but if skip button was a thing, I would have no reason to care about Nilou in first place

we literally need a skip button for long ass quests such as tatara tales and others
only thing i can think of why hoyoverse wouldnt want to add a skip button is that maybe they're afraid that more people will be enticed to skip, and they're afraid without knowing and following the story that players will leave the game because the combat gets repetitive. Whether this would be true idk. but for example, speaking for myself, i spam space and mouse clicks to skip most dialogue but since it takes so long to skip, i end up reading some of the words or sentences which makes me get the gist of what the dialogue was about. And sometimes when im bored of skipping I read a few lines here and there. This makes me keep up at least somewhat with what's going on. For me the problem actually isn't having a story, but it's the fact that there is so much fluff and slow diaolgue.. if the dialogue was faster and to the point, and perhaps more cinematic cutscenes, I wouldn't mind watching it. Also, more interesting stories would help
ok here is some thought, on settings, toggle on/off skip button
NPC quests shouldnt be a super long dialogue. Like other jrpg games didn’t make me hate it because they told me one quick quest and go there and do whatever needed and it’s done. Genshin wants you to run here and there and here for quest end heres 10 primo gems. Honkai let’s you skip but doesn’t give you a lot rewards but it builds up to it. Genshin I don’t like every single characters story enough to sit to their dialogue maybe some I do like maybe. People who have school or work don’t want to spend their free time on hearing boring NPC questlines for hours just for some rewards.
