Thanks for the update. I'm in the process of waiting for the reply from Hobie to ship me the box so i can ship my drive back to get it repaired. I'm glad its winter so not in a big rush. 😇
I have a set purchased online that are peeling apart at the mast tube. I have sent Hobie Warranty a message and I hope they will honor a replacement. Thank you for the this video!!

Holy smokes. $5000 for a kayak. Wow. More than double the cost of an Old Town Sportsman. Hobie is a big company and it should be no surprise that they will take care of these issues for buyers, but I'm just not seeing that 360 drive being that much more versatile. Oh well, there are plenty of folks that do and that's great. Happy peddling and tight lines!
I have one but mine is a 2019 model , with the 180 ,..it works great. Im pretty sure its a quick fix but they probably just wanna get it right for everyone..
I had the mast break inside the drive on my Pelican 130HD and Pelican just sent me a brand new pedal drive and an extra set of masts as part of their warranty. In my humble opinion, I feel Hobie should do the same considering how expensive they are and how long they have been in the pedal drive game. I do plan on getting a Hobie next year from Fishing Tackle Unlimited, but looking at the PA14 360. However, I will keep my Pelican, those guys have an excellent warranty and phenomenal customer service. Nick, I haven't seen any footage on the Bote in a while. Do you regret the purchase or just simply prefer the Outback platform?
And Hobie Claimed , they put "So Many Hours" into Testing and Development And Stated we Raised are Prices because of All the Years they put into the Kick Up Fins & there 360 Drive . "Its Pretty Much Bullet Proof" Yeah Right , And now , there is Already a Product / Quality Control Issue / Recall . Seriously Hobie , that's what you get for 3K . I Totally Understand Parts Break , And Anything Man-made Can and Will Fail , there just So Arrogant about there Products like there Stuff is Perfect . How is that Front Hatch , Rediculous Stick on Seal Fix going for your 3K Plus Kayak . And When are going to Replace those Cheap Plastic Foreward and Reverse Cables that Constantly Break . I wouldn't Complain at the price of around the Low to Mid 2K Price Range , but with your Kayaks between $3-$4,500 K they better be the Cream of the Crop . No Wonder Hobie only Offers a 2 Year Warranty on there " Amazing Drive System "....... 😂😂 Thanks for the Update RX , Hopefully they Fix the Issue for you and So Many others . Let us know how it All Turns Out .
Bothers me that Hobie failed to include packing. Fairly quick failure of a “thoroughly tested” drive? Maybe not so much. Kick up feature is super nice-at what expense? Another moving part- good news is you will put it through its paces. Thanks
I sent mine in and got it back exactly 3 days after they received it, and I’m in FL. While it’s not ideal, it’s nice that they stand by their products and made it right. Though I also thought the shipping box was sketchy and really poor.

So how about a follow up to this. Hobie has corrected this problem Oct 16, 2019. Any boat purchased after this date has the updated drive.

They seen so fragile compared to the original Mirage drive. Did you put bubble wrap in the box?
Their drives have always been garbage. They really need to upgrade the construction. Especially for the price they charge. That is just unacceptable.
