I base coated my canvas with Liquitex Black Gesso available at most craft stores.
After the lines are cleaned off and the canvas is dry I coat the canvas with Gamvar satin varnish.I get it at Michaels. It is not water soluble and takes 24 hrs to dry.
Spray varnish is good too.

This is so pretty! It’s very delicate looking!! I like the way you did the string of dots, really made it lacy. I also like the colors. I’ve learned how to make the tear drops by watching you. Hiya Susan, I'm prepping to do this pattern. I have loved it since I seen it, thank you so much for sharing. I am going through my paint colours and I don't seem to have the Arteza pearl ocean blue. I skimmed through the video so see where it is used, but I can't seem to find the spot. Do you have this anywhere as a printed pattern ?
I don’t make printable patterns as it’s so much work and I don’t want to charge people to paint.
I usually put all the colours into the video description. If your missing one it’s not a worry as you can use one you have or just ad some paint to one you and to make a custom blend :) Your creation does not have to be an exact match to mine …make it your own 🥰
This mandala is stunning! The stencil you use in the video is a 12-point grid, but I don't see that in the stencil link above - only 10, 24, and 32 point grids. Will a 12-point grid be available sometime?

I love following your beautiful Mandala art ❤. I wanted to follow the Winter Mandala but don’t seem to get any sound😢 Is there a way to fix this?
@@pamholbrook2880 this may have been one where I didn’t record sound as I had so many people complain about music. So you can play your own :)
I watched the whole thing - so fantastic…am anxiously awaiting my grid…canvas is prepped! One question…what are you using to cover the paint to keep it from drying out in your palette - I have never seen that b4…thank u!
I use Saran Wrap press and seal. It’s excellent as it will seal around each pot.

Is that Saran Wrap on your paint tray to keep it clean (brilliant,if so) or is it something else to keep your paints from drying out?
I use press and seal to keep the paint tray clean and it also helps keep the paint from drying out if I need to take a break from it.
I am on a septic tank and field so I don’t want to wash paint down the sink , having the film on the tray just makes it easy for me to clean.
Thank You so Much!!!! I soak my paint trays in a bucket of water over night, so I can peel the paint off my tray in the morning. I also do not want to wash it down the drain. Love the idea. Easy clean up.
