    Thank you, Paula.
    I've cooked this soup this evening. 3 years after you've shared it, but I'm not sorry, I've discovered this soup recipe and it came out so tasty. 🎉

    I also cook the Kale separately but I use the water from cooking the Kale to cook the potatoes etc. because It has lots of Vitamins from the Kale ❤️🇺🇸

    I have made this more than 3 times. I have converted it to vegan so I have to season the protein and create my own sausage but it looks the same as here and smells and tastes amazing!! Thank you for sharing this and sorry I haven’t shared sooner. I have been using this recipe for over 3 years. Also, Dutch ovens are life! ♥️

    When possible, I’m all about one pot cooking! Have you tried browning your linguiça before cooking your potatoes? I brown the linguiça then remove it and add the potatoes. It just gives it another layer of flavor. Thanks for your recipe.

    • @paulasportugueseflavor2080
      @paulasportugueseflavor2080  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh definitely you can brown it before and then the potatoes I will give it a try and compare the flavors thank you

    My wife is from Pico, and I learned how to make it from watching her. I made it for my Mother inlaw one weekend as she was in hospital, she said mine was better then her daughters but said not to tell her.

    Receita maravilhosa, fiz hoje 29/01/23, batatas refogadas na manteiga fica uma delicia, a couve cozidas separadas também faz toda diferença, apesar de estarmos no verão aqui no Brasil não resisti. Grata.

    This is not the traditional caldo verde for sure but I will try your version for a change, thanks for the recipe

    • @paulasportugueseflavor2080
      @paulasportugueseflavor2080  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely I think caldo verde also has different versions depending where you live I know some people that do not purée the potatoes and it’s still a great soup, let me know if you had a chance to try it

    I make something similar but with smoked sausage. I throw everything in my slow cooker adding the sausage in the last 15 minutes or so. I make it creamy by giving it a partial blitz and adding a little oat milk n cornstarch.

  • @pgprentice
    @pgprentice 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Try this: When you are frying the potato, garlic and onion, add in 1/2 of the sausage instead of the chicken stock. Much better flavour. Ciao

    Bem explicado, obrigado. Tenho o cuidado de não bater nas minhas panelas esmaltadas com colheres sempre que tento esvaziá-las - assim que o esmalte racha, começa a cair e a panela de ferro começa a enferrujar.

  • @kimberlyburdick9666
    @kimberlyburdick9666 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like mine with a little bit of potatoes in not cream of potato... also I cook my meat and onions together take the meat and onions out leave the juices and add the chicken stock and water with the potatoes then use the masher til I get it the way we like it put the kale right into the potatoes then add the meat and onions for the last 20 minutes

    the ture green soup (Portuguese Caldo Verde is traditionally made with collard greens and not kale. Collard greens is in the cabbage family and very different then kale but I guess it's a preference.I have always made this soup with collard green..

    • @paulasportugueseflavor2080
      @paulasportugueseflavor2080  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think some people call collard greens some kale what I use is definitely Couves I grow my own but sometimes have to buy it again it’s a preference it can be done with a kale or collard greens I like couves for mine 😉
