People say that gfriend got famous bc of the accident on stage but this performance happened before the accident and they were in the top 10
So technically they probably would have gotten pretty famous later on in their career if they didnt have the accident
Actually the accident made them somehow more famous as there were fans that gained just because of that fancam. But they definitely weren't at EXID's level as they were not really that popular and even to the point that if Up and Down flops, they will disband. As rookies, GFriend's fandom did great when it comes to digital streaming, considering their charts. Actually after promotions of Me Gustas Tu (after the fancam), they still were in Top 10 (in Music Bank).
They got #6 with Glass Bead! Definitely before the incident haha
i think their dancing made a lot of people notice them. they have really energetic dances and great vocal skills which is what made them popular. the accident simply made them even more popular
The accident sped things up a lot....they would of had to grind out another two yrs ....but huge success was inevitable because too much talent here......the cream always rises to the top.
